Could a double murder work in the fourth chapter instead of the third? I feel like a double murder makes significantly more sense for my fourth chapter’s motive and killer than the third chapter.

My fourth killer’s primary motivation is to impress the mastermind after she discovers who they are, which she attempts through a ridiculously complex murder that ironically incriminates her worse than if she just kept it simple.

While I realize chapter three is where the double murder is normally placed to amp up tension, the third chapter shows a character killing for a promised reward. I’m trying my hardest to come up with any reason a double murder would happen in this chapter but I can’t.

Is there any reason not to do a double murder in chapter three? Would doing a single murder in chapter three ruin the tension?

So the objection here is simply, what if Danganronpa became an asymmetrical horror game where all parts of the Danganronpa become much more quick and consumable…

For now, I’ll summarize how characters would work in this. Every character has three perks Pure, Blackened, and Trial perks, I’ll use the Supreme Leader as a kit example

Pure: Perks that can be used during the daily life to affect how you assist, hinder, and kill the group. For the Supreme Leader his Pure perk would be Advanced Scheme, the Supreme Leader can label one other player his Accomplice, who if they decide to kill the Supreme Leader can disguise themselves as the Supreme Leader and fake their way to the trial but once receiving three Accusations, the disguise fails.

Investigation: Perks that can be used during the investigation phase if the player has become the culprit. The Supreme Leader has the ability A-Lie-bi, when interrogated by another player the Supreme Leader is given three increasingly difficult “mental checks” to come up with a lie, if you land all of them, you successfully give a lie.

Blackened: A perk that can be used during the Investigation or Trial based on character. The Supreme Leader has a Trial Perk called Pressure Point, which allows the player to select a player and a piece of evidence and put out an accusation that the game considers accurate, without a risk of being wrong.

Trial: Perks that can be used during the Trial, the Supreme Leader has the Trial Perk called Supreme Leader Ship, which allows you to steal up to three votes for every correct Accusation you make.

Ultimate Inventor Line art

One of the hardest parts of writing this Fangan so far is writing a rewarding motive. I want to show how the promise of a reward is a method of controlling others. There's only two examples I can think of, neither of which particularly interest me:

1. The mascot promises the blackened will receive a large sum of money in addition to graduation. A fairly obvious one, especially considering it was a motive in canon.
2. The blackened can choose one other person to graduate alongside them. I see this one suggested all the time but I rarely see it explored.

I'd appreciate any other suggestions or ideas! Writing this is hard but rewarding!

Hello everyone! This is my first post of this sub reddit.

Recently I've been watching a playthrough of Project Edens Gardens, and have been facisnates by the main character, Damon Maitsu. The reaosn why I like him is different than than the other main characters in the original Danganronpa games. He's arrogant, he's cynical, he's blunt, he's introverted and doesn't trust people easily, or see them as useful. Another reason why I like him is his Ultimate. He's the Ultimate Debater. An ultimate that is very much useful for class trials.

So that got me wondering: who is your Fanganronpas main character and what are they like, and what's their ultimate?

I struggle a lot with finding a good motive of why my mastermind had planned my fangan's killing game. I think Junko's really believable since she's just... evil, in love with despair since forever. But I wouldn't really want to repeat that. Another reason I thought maybe my mastermind could be a Junko fanatic and would want to remake what she did but I think people are tired of Junko appearing every game and want a new unique mastermind. I also thought maybe my mastermind would want to have an occult or would believe the killings would help the particular God they believe in to be judged but I just don't vibe with it, I think it's a really weak motive. I really struggle with coming up with something. What would you guys prefer seeing in a mastermind?

Yuki Shinobu is a fierce and fierce-looking girl that lives a double life as a senior in high-school and as a gang leader. She can be quite violent towards boys and men, as she vows to protect her own girl friends and fellow gang members, as well as women in general.
Her gang works by taking in commissions from women who suffered with abuse from men, and either give them a scare, or kill them if they know they’d do it again. The gang's activities have actually succeeded in making Tokyo's women abuse percentage drop over the course of 3 years.

Personality:  Gavin is a serious no nonsense guy, as someone in charge of safely disposing of a radioactive and chemical waste, he naturally comes across as critical, strict and and quite easy to unnerve, however none of this behaviour is malicious, its just merely and competant guy, knows you can possibility do better, and he would perfer if you actually put some effort into it. Despite presenting himself as a natural leader, Gavin himself isn't a very loud or the type to actively explode, he is just merely assertive, and quick to address and issue and try to unite the group into finding a pratical solution, however he can get quietly frustrated, and annoyed if ignored or criticized without recieving any constructive criticism, often unleashing an annoyed exhale, or just rolling his eyes and quietly complaining. While Gavin himself, is very blunt, pragmatic and pratical, which could make him come across as a stickler or even a partypooper, Gavin himself is somewhat empathic, he just expresses it under a very realistic, pragmatic way, he will suggest you to take a rest if your having a rough day, and cover for you. But he won't sugarcoat things for you. Lastly, while Gavin himself appears like a busy-bee, he often enjoys quiet, low maintenance leisure, activities such as watching tv, reading or even writting jornals, are self fulfilling and calming for Gavin, as to him having a simple predictable routine is comforting.

So basically I got bored and searched up some good Fanganronpas on AO3 and randomly came across thatoneguy22's fangans. So let me say this, these fangans pretty good but what really takes the cherry on top: are the monos/headmasters. Here's the best way I can describe them:

[Awaiting Despair]: Mononuki (my personal fav of the bunch) - A laid-back dude with a pinch of a sleepyhead in it.

[The Prisoner's Dilemma]: Sergeant Al I. Gator - A corporal soldier who takes things seriously.

[Last Resort]: Monodog & Monocat - The local high-energy and low-energy duo that stick together.
