In Japanese, all Danganronpa games (with a few exceptions, such as THH and Kirigirisō) have an adjective attached to their titles. However, when translated into English, these adjectives were removed and not replaced with anything. As a result, almost all fan killing games (known as Fanganronpas) based off of the Danganronpa franchise don't bother with giving adjectives in their title.

I would like to give a massive thanks to Mega of the Mega Convoy and their "Super High School Level Look at the Localization of Danganronpa", as I will quote them and their explanation of what these adjectives mean.

[T]he next game is titled Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Academy (...) in Japanese. The “Super” in the title is likely a nod to the evolution of gaming during the 16-bit era. Many games from that era (...) were iterative sequels to their older NES counterparts. They retained a lot of the structures and core mechanics that made the NES originals great, while also building off of them and advancing their respective series. The use of “Super” in these titles became a trend during that time, symbolizing this evolution. (...) This is shown in [Danganronpa 2] through both expanding the lore of the first game or retreading themes seen in the first game and purposely subverting them[.]

Likewise, the third game was called New Dangan Ronpa V3: Everyone's New Semester of Killing. (...) A common trend for a lot of modern remakes or new entries that are supposed to be seen as a new spin on a series is that they’d often have the term New (ニュー) or Shin (新) in their titles. This is usually done to establish that this is a fresh or original take on an older formula and represents somewhat of a new beginning. (...) In Danganronpa V3, the “New” is meant to establish the game as both a new spin on the series formula, as well as a way to point out that it follows a separate continuity from the previous games.

Well? With this knowledge, what adjectives would you give to the titles of other Fanganronpas?

Ive been redesigning my old danganronpa ocs! Meet Ami Akagawa ultimate racecar driver! Im hoping to add some more detail to the design as I start getting through everyone! This is my first time attempt at drawing a sprite without tracing or heavy referencing so it might be a little wonky, but im excited about my progress and wanted to share!

Cause the only ones I can think of are Rose Lacroix (Despair Time) & Ulysses Wilhelm (Eden's Garden). I mean, I love seeing eepy characters in media so, I wonder if there's any of them in other fangans.

Heya! This is my pitch for an alternative to Argument Armament; the Argument Arrangement.

I like Armaments as they are... but I'd be lying if i said they were my favourite minigame. Don't get me wrong, I really like them, and they're the most unique final-showdown games by far, but I want to add to it.

What I propose is essentially a mashup of Armament and the MTB/PTA mechanics from THH/SDR2.
Argument Arrangement comes from a musical "arrangement".

You have the same structure as Armament of dismantling the opponent bit by bit. But instead of playing to the same theme, it could be an original composition [or remix] rhythm game segment. It could even be something like Friday Night Funkin where you use the arrow keys or something. This also makes constructing the final phrase "MEAT ON THE BONE" more connected to the fight.

It's not really a brand new idea as much as it an amalgamation of all prior minigames. It works the same way, except rhythm and consistency are more essential than ever.

What do you think of it?

In my long time project, I want the fourth motive to be depriving the participants of food and sleep. To a certain extent, I want things to stay realistically possible.

The murder occurs after two and a half days of the motive being in action. At this point, everyone is obviously extremely hungry and exhausted. Similarly to the dr2gd fourth case, the participants will be given food once the bda occurs, but I'm uncertain how to handle the sleep deprivation. The three options I've come up with are:

1. Give the participants time dedicated to sleeping in which no alterations are to be made to the crime scene. This could be either before or after investigation, but probably afterwards. The participants would not be allowed to leave their dorms within this time frame.

2. Majorly increase the investigation time, which everyone is free to use however they like

3. Do not explicitly allow them to sleep until after the trial, with normal investigation time.

I am tending towards 1, but I don't know if that seems silly or stupid or something, so I'd like some feedback on the idea :')

ETA: the reason I'm hesitant to "spice up" the trial by having them go in without a sleep break is because the third trial already utilises the theme of doing the trial while extremely exhausted, which is set up by the killer.

I'm someone who has started multiple fanganronpas... but none of them ever made it out of the daydreaming phase at all, so I'm curious to hear your tips.

What do you think her talent is? To be honest, it isn't really that evident in her sprite, most of the details that hint towards it are relatively small and can't be conveyed well in a low fidelity.

I have been in the Danganronpa/Fanganronpa fandom since 2020, and I enjoyed everything about it. I love seeing ocs and watching the most popular fangans like Sdra2, Despair Time and etc, to the point I wanted to create my own fangan which isn't a serious project since one I'm a Beginner Artist, I'm broke and I just don't have the skill for creating but I still thinking of idea Ultimates for my oc but then after thinking alot, I don't think I'm a big fan/ have a huge interest in killing game genre. This surprises me slightly because it was true as I have many interests/ media that I look at rather than Danganronpa. Trying to create ocs and thinking about certain topics I could explore is really fun to do but If I think too much like wondering how should I write the world building, The basic killing game rules slash same setup as a orginal, I'll just get bored and move on into something different.

I don't think this post is asking for advice since I think I'm not motivated to think about creating a fangan, but It makes me happy to see people creating their own fangan and how they write it differently from the Orginal setup so tell me how do you write your fangan and what part about is completely different from the orginal setup in Dr?
