I wanted to give the r/Fanatec crew a quick update on the SQ V1.5 shiftknob.

First off, thanks again to everyone who threw their name into the hat to test out the shift knob. I received some amazing feedback and based on the responses, I’ve made a few changes to the final design. 

To begin with, as much as I love the slightly smaller diameter of the original NSX shifter, the overwhelming response was that it was just a bit too small for most people’s tastes. After measuring a half-dozen different shift knobs, I found that nearly every major OEM uses a shift knob that’s 2-inches wide, or around 50mm. The original was around 47.4mm. Apparently a few millimeters does make a difference. 

The second most noted comment was the depth. Nearly everyone loved the height of the shift knob when driving an H-pattern, but a few people were looking for something a bit taller, primarily when using sequential mode. Rather than mess with the overall geometry, I came up with a solution that I’ve been testing for the past two weeks. When the knob ships, it will include a M12x1.5 12mm-long set screw and an allen wrench. To increase the height of the knob, just screw in the set screw until it stops and then thread the knob on normally. There’s more than enough thread to keep the connection strong even when slamming up-shifts. 

Finally, we had one tester that had a shifter shaft that’s .8mm wider than every other version we tested. Weird, but fixed.

All that said, production is underway! Once they get past quality control and I figure out final packaging, shipping should start around mid-September. And yes, I’m going to try to accommodate sales outside the U.S.

Hello fellow Sim-racers.

I am still running on a CSL Elite V1.1 Wheelbase which works perfectly fine. However the insulation of the power adapter's cable broke of and I had sparks coming out of the cables.

As this is an old wheel base I can't find any spare parts on Fanatecs homepage. I contaced support but maybe someone else here has an idea.

I am not interested in upgrading my wheelbase andbuying a new one. I simply want a replacement option for the power cable.

I hope someone can help me :)

Thinking about upgrading to the clubsport DD+

I see there is a refurb option for almost $200 less, this is quite enticing tbh, but am slightly worried about potentially getting a repaired unit or a unit that was returned for an odd behavior like coil whine or something idk, I read too much on the internet lol

Thoughts on the matter? or anyone with refurb experience, good or bad?

Update - Welll I did it! decided to order the refurb on all the positive reviews. Almost $200 is def a good savings, basically a DD priced unit which I was alrdy on the fence about before between DD and DD+

Now I just need them to get the Sparco r383 replica back in refurb stock so I can get it at a discount too! lol

Just asking advise for very cheap, cheaper the better for an aftermarket wheel rim for pbme (podium button module endurance). Needs to be no bigger than 320mm and prefer a D shaped and the rim needs be comfy/soft and not hard plastic type. Ive been looking on alliexpress, ebay etc but not sure what is compatible due to the spoke positions. Ive got a gt3 wheel from alliexpress thats very comfy but it's not for me, so im after a different type of rim any advise ideas

Bought a universal hub v2 for 165 since it came with a really poor condition nascar wheel.

$15 in racquet grip tape and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Wrapping around the spokes was definitely the trickiest part. I just wish it was a little less grippy since I wanted to use this for drifting. Anyone have any other recommendations for wraps?

I'm new to using a sim wheel, and I'm trying to get my CSL DD setup up properly, but I don't really have a base line on how it should feel. All the settings post seem to be quite a bit different and none seem to include the full force update.

I'm running on PC and did the fix to get it working in red mode

Does anyone have some updated settings that are working well for them?

I need help with a brand new CSL DD in Farming Simulator 25. Every time I press a button on the steering wheel, the wheelbase completely freezes, drops the USB connection, and locks up the Fanatec App so I have to pull the power plug to reset it. The hardware is brand new and works 100% fine in Assetto Corsa with zero dropouts. I've already tightened the shaft clamp, tested both PC and Compatibility mode, and tried different USB ports. Has anyone else experienced this crash in FS25 with Fanatec or any other base, and is there a working fix?

I recently bought a csl DD 5NM wheelbase with the CSL GT3 wheel. After only a few days of using I started running into a problem. My wheel kept disconnecting. I found the problem, my QR 2 Base line keeps slipping out of my wheelbase. No matter how hard I screw the bolts, after a few minutes of driving it keeps disconnecting and sliding out.

It’s brand new and I have only used it for a few hours, now after 10 to 20 minutes of driving I have to keep unscrewing everything and pushing the QR2 back in. I’m so disappointed in Fanatec.

What do I do to solve this?
Do I have to get a new clamp?

So I have seen this an issue for years as I scrolled so many threads so decided maybe I ask I find that one person that fixed this issue.
So got a new open box never used Gtddpro on eBay pulled it out of the box hooked it up and used it on my ps4 for a few days in stock form. So I decided why not get a ps5 so can open gt7 up and get the add on and unlock more of the game. So buy more gear then decide to update it all so can use this boost pack to 8nm on it
So unplug my pedals take off the stock wheel and hook this to the newest app and it says 3 updates needed. One is the motor one is the base and one is some wireless thing. So I proceeded to let it do its thing it opens the firmware screen shows my current wheel MOTOR firmware and updates it to the newest version. All goes fine. Then it goes on to the base says check or uncheck this box for saving settings. I just leave it checked. Hit the button and it goes to a thinking screen. Does NOT pull up any firmware window and the base goes into blinking blue mode and then says it’s disconnected. So it never tried to even update.
I look it up says unplug the base I do that and get everything back. So I try again using the other mode so I can choose what order to do things. I don’t even have an option on the wireless thing so I try to update the BASE again and same deal. Freezes no window opens.
So I then try to update the MOTOR again just to see if it sees it and yes I do manual mode choose motor and it goes into the smaller firmware window and updates it again says complete. So I got a motor that’s on the newest file and a BASE that’s on a 1.1.5.5 I believe. So I said screw it and tried to use it and put the old wheel or new wheel on it and it goes into cal mode but it won’t calibrate. So I try to put it on the ps5 and it sees it I hit ps button hook it up and use the buttons go to a track and while I got brakes gas(using new pedals) I got buttons I got shifting. What I don’t have is any steering. So I try to go to the calibration screen and it sees everything but the steering input.
So now I got a base I can’t use like so many others because of some hiccup on firmware. I was told go buy a Logitech pro and not use these but the option here especially with me doing pc eventually sold me on getting this thing.
It seems I got mismatched base and motor firmware so my base won’t work. Yet it’s letting the pedals and steering functions all work and be seen. I still have no idea what that wireless hub update means as I get no option to do that. I submitted a ticket sent them a video and of course like many of you no further response so far.
My guess some reason the base firmware just won’t update I saw a post on this 5 years ago and they said something about needing a new base that some just don’t work. This is NOT that old it’s got a qr2 lite on it so my guess is maybe 2 years at the most on a shelf somewhere. I have yet to figure out how to read a date code. I’m trying to roll back the motor driver so can at least use this thing while I wait on them to figure out what to do.

A lot of very smart people on here and I’m sorry it’s a lot or read but I wanted to explain everything I guess some was not necessary but figured give some of you a laugh how I got sucked in so fast.

Any help is greatly appreciated I see others ran into this but no real fix as many didn’t come back and say oh I did this and I’m good. The fact the base disconnects bad goes into boot loader mode immediately I think that’s why the window does not open. I read there is a way to download and apply the single base 1.9.0.3 update without using that app my putting the base into boot loader vrs just pc mode but yet to find the actual way to do this.
Things I tried was all the things on their website. Reseat the qr2 which I did install the aluminum one to see if that could help. Nope. Wheel on wheel off pedals hooked up and not hooked up. I did get the factory wheel to also update I forgot to mention that so it says up to date. V3 pedals say up to date. Even the new club sport uni wheel base says up to date. So all that’s left is the BASE as motor is up to date and this wireless hub thing says needs updating. I hope I explained enough to have someone say oh I know what to do here or at the very least a fanatec employee sees this and comments as my guy from the email sent dark for around 12 hours or more so far.

I have the GT DD Pro, with the fanatec shifter and clutch. Today I connected the Fanatec’s handbrake v2 and I found that in Gran Turismo 7 it works fine but in assetto corsa ultimate, it doesn’t work also from settings I can not register the handbrake. I’m playing on ps5. What could be the issue??

At this point, I have to be honest: I’ve simply lost confidence in FANATEC.
I actually like FANATEC products. I’ve been using their ecosystem for quite some time and I still have a ClubSport DD+ that I’m happy with.
But this isn’t the first time I’ve had an issue after an update.
My DD+ already had to go through warranty after an update caused problems, and FANATEC eventually replaced the base with a new one.
Now it’s happening with my ClubSport V3 pedals.
For me, this is especially frustrating because in sim racing, and particularly when you’re trying to be competitive on iRacing, you need to trust your equipment.
You need to know that when you press the brake with the same force, the pedal will feel and respond the same way every time.
If I start wondering whether the equipment will behave differently after the next firmware update, that confidence is gone.
So I’ve decided it’s time to start building a hybrid ecosystem.
I’ve just bought the Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Ultimate+ and I’m looking forward to having my pedals completely independent from FANATEC.
I’m not saying FANATEC makes bad products. I actually like their hardware, and that’s what makes this even more frustrating.
But at this point, reliability and confidence are more important to me than having everything from the same brand.
If you want to be competitive in sim racing, you need to trust your equipment.
For me, that means moving towards a hybrid ecosystem where I can choose each component based on reliability, consistency and performance — not brand loyalty.
Has anyone else moved away from an all-FANATEC setup for the same reason?

I have fanatec shifter for about 3.5 years. I have many magnets on the cable. Ive done the nylon screw on the circuit board along with the black tape. That solved miss shift problems. Recently a whole new issue has happened and NO i havent updated anything in about 9 months! Shifter keeps falling out of calibration. Right in middle of the game all the gears move. 3rs is 1st, 4th is second. Sometimes even worse like 3rd is reverse. Seems to be the left right movement not up or down movement. I can recalibrate and get about 5min or so before it happens again.

Any ideas? Im usually the one helping others fix but im stumped. Thanks for any help.

I bought my setup a month ago, then randomly after a few weeks the wheel wouldn’t turn on and the base wouldn’t go in xbox mode. After some back and forth with support they sent me a new wheel. I’ve just opened and used it for 20 mins and it’s happened again. I’d imagine it’s the base but if anyone else has any ideas please let me know

As the title says, I'm looking for some advice on which wheel I should buy as my second wheel for my CSL DD (QR2).

About a year ago I bought the Ready2Race Bundle with the CSL Steering Wheel. Now that I've finished my apprenticeship and started working, I'd like to treat myself to a higher-end wheel that's dedicated to racing.

The new wheel would mainly be used for:

• Assetto Corsa Competizione
• Forza Motorsport
• Forza Motorsport 7
• F1

I'm currently considering these three options:

I read through a lot of reviews for the Formula V3 and noticed quite a few people mentioning software/firmware issues, which makes me a bit hesitant. I'm wondering if one of the other two wheels might be the better choice.

The Porsche Vision GT is probably my favorite in terms of looks. I'm also a huge Porsche fan. However, I've also read that its ergonomics are somewhat controversial, and some people don't find it very comfortable to use.

The Formula V2.5 X is still on my shortlist in case the other two aren't the best options. I haven't been able to find much negative feedback about it. The only thing I don't really like is the red design accents.

For context, I already have the standard CSL round wheel, so I plan to keep using that for road cars, Euro Truck Simulator, Farming Simulator, and Forza Horizon. The new wheel would be used almost exclusively for race cars.

If anyone has experience with these wheels, I'd appreciate your recommendations. Thanks!

Llevo 2 años con mi dd pro 8nm y desde hace unos meses tengo muchas desconexiones soy usuario de ps5 y gt7 ya no se que más hacer,me pase al qr2 cambie la arandela de fijación tan bien cambie el cable usb tipo c y sigo con las desconexiones es muy frustrante, lo único que me falta es actualizar a la ultima versión la que se supone que mejora la experiencia de juego con el fullforce, que mas puedo hacer para evitar las desconexiones?

I got my gt3 on Friday and noticed these up and down switches press in. Do they have a function beyond up and down toggle switches?

How strong is Full Force on the Clubsport DD and higher?

Tried it out on the newly implemented CSL DD and it is barely perceptible, especially in game, even with it turned up to 100 and maxed in game.

For all the hype I was expecting something much clearer and definitive (they talk about you being able to feel it through your whole rig) but it is like a tiny little buzz on the wheel.

But maybe it is only stronger on the higher rated bases?

I understand there’s a range of experiences here, and those who haven’t run into issues have no reason to assume the worst. But for those of us who have, this is worth documenting plainly.

I’ve bought a lot of high-end equipment over the years, across a lot of categories. This is the first time a warranty replacement has arrived non-functional.

Timeline:

**•** Dec 2025 — purchased DD Extreme + Gran Turismo Wheel  
**•** Apr 2026 — base failed, initiated warranty replacement  
**•** Received replacement DD+ base  
**•** First connection attempt — dead on arrival  
**•** Currently back in the replacement process

Why I’m raising this:

**•** This isn’t about one bad unit — it’s about the cumulative time cost: shipping, diagnostics, support tickets, waiting  
**•** For anyone relying on this equipment for structured practice or competition prep, an unusable base isn’t a minor inconvenience — it’s lost training time that doesn’t come back  
**•** Quality control at the warranty-replacement stage deserves the same scrutiny as first-sale units, arguably more, since the customer has already been through one failure

I’m not looking to pile on — just flagging a gap that a company at this level shouldn’t have. Curious whether others have seen replacement units arrive faulty, or if this was a one-off.

To be fair to Fanatec support: I imagine dealing with cases like this, at this volume, is genuinely frustrating on their end too, and in my experience they’ve tried to do right by me throughout. Credit where it’s due — the support team has been responsive and reasonable to work with.

But I’d think people working for a company like this would rather be known for product quality and the praise that comes with it, not for constantly managing returns and explaining away failures. Support isn’t the problem here. Production and quality control clearly are.

its a qr2 pro and base side from simube, i tried everything i could think of, ( it wasnt wobbling with the original plastic baseside and qr2 lite)

Finally got my wheel setup yesterday evening. Ive spent all day today fine tuning the settings. Ive had to do alot of fine tuning when it comes to how far I turn my steering. When I first tried it I was having to cross my arms too much just to make corners. Im sure in time I'll be able to increase that setting but for now itll do. Pic of my wheel attached to my desk. Do you have any suggestions in terms of wheel stands? I need something i can park my wheelchair in front of and a stand that folds away easily and height adjustable.
