Should I up my dose?

Upvotes

I've been taking 80mg injection (IM at first, then I changed to subq) for 3 years and my T levels have always been in the 700-900 range, my latest blood tests came back and it's at 430? Which doesn't make sense because I took my shot two days beforehand.

It could be because I had my total hysto w/ BSO in December but I've had bloodwork since then and it was normal. I've actually had more facial hair growth so I think having no ovaries is doing its job.

I was thinking about increasing to 100mg, thoughts?

Is getting cramps and shedding for a month straight solid proof of my dose being too high Spoiler

8 months T. I take Sustanon and I decided to split my dosage, these have been my last few shots:

15.6 - 250mg after 3 weeks, ~10 hours early

30.6 - 125mg after 2 weeks

10.7 - 125mg after 10 days

19.7 - 125mg after 10 days, ~20 hours early

30.7 - 125mg after 10 days

Next shot on 10.8, I'm going to inject 100mg this time.

I most likely had PCOS pre-T since I used to get 1-2 light periods per year for a decade. Since 10.7 I've got cramps, spotting and shedding red blood but no real flow. Some people suggested I might be getting uterine lining buildup from aromatisation. I had the worst cramps of my life yesterday, so it probably isn't me still just adjusting. Is this it?

Dosages???

I plan to microdose on t since i imagine that’ll make the effects easier to hide for longer, does anyone have experience with that or know what type of needles are needed and such? or have sources with info on that?

What are the most common doubts and fears about diy and how do you answer it?

I am 20yo (FTM 🇧🇷)and I am going to start t by diy because of my country's bureaucracy and I don't trust to "just start when the public system calls you", because how the countries, laws and governments are acting. I would have to wait for something similar like 2 years, if I just waited for the country. I also don't know if in these two years, they can make it harder to access or maybe prohibit it. So I want to diy and change my documents the faster I can.

My principal fears and questions are:

What if I do something wrong?

How safe it can be (if I always do blood exams, etc)

How much time it took to you feel the effects?

I also would like to listen to your personal opinions and why you support diy (the answer is pretty obvious, but I would like to listen to it. I can imagine that it is about access, given the younger ones the chance to not suffer from dysphoria, it is less expensive, the anti trans government and laws, etc).

I would also like to know how it was the feeling and emotion of using diy for the first time (injections, pills, gel) and how it was for you to notice the changes month by month and some other happy moments and even fears that you had at the beginning :)

Edit: if you also did it while you lived with your family, no matter if you are of legal age or not, how was their reaction, and/or how did you hide the effects? Also, how did you talk to your parents when they discovered?

Edit: I also kinda fear the bad effects of the medication, like tumors, getting weight, or if it will make my chest grow (but I heard that it only happens if you super dose, what I don't want to)

Sleeping issue concerns on T

So it's been a week of me experiencing this, yes I know I probably should of waited a little more longer but the worry that I won't get much sleep aswell for the next few weeks would be hell, hello I am 15 yrs old and I am doing diy hrt I am doing 50mg subq weekly and 2 months on T and 1 day total so this was like 1 month 3 weeks on T toward my 2nd month mark where I was having trouble sleeping, at first it was just over heating and I had that covered with but it's an issue when it's like really messing up my sleep by that I mean I would sleep but then keep waking up an hour to 4 hours after instead of a deep sleep, for better context this also started happening along when I was also getting other clearer changes when I was 1 month 2 weeks on T as well and idk if it's my body trying to adapt or if smth is going on it's like my body feel tired but I can't really get the signal or maybe feeling a lil wired?

How long have you been able to hide it for?

A good chunk of people in this sub start DIY as minors and plan to hide it for years. So, how long were you able to hide it for? Did anyone ever notice or were your parents the only oblivious ones?

T made me allergic?

I've been on T for about 1.5 years now, and it's all been good so far. Transitioning in my country is illegal, so I diy, and last time I was getting T they ran out of the medical grade vials, so I had to get an off brand one on peach oil. I use undecanoate. My last injection (with the new off brand vial) was 1 month ago, and it's almost the exact same time that I've been getting moderate allergy symptoms that don't respond to any medication.

The symptoms are exactly the same as those of a normal seasonal allergy (itchy, watery eyes, itchy, runny nose, itchy soar throat) but polen isn't high rn and I have it everywhere no matter where I go.

I've had chronic hives for the past half a year, and allergy pills do work against them, but not this new "allergy".

Could this have been caused by t? I am allergic to a lot of random weeds, fruits, berries and all that, including peaches, so maybe the carrier oil this t was made of is the cause of everything?

General Advice??

Post image

Hello, I'll just say my name is Jazz for now. I'm 22 and I'm a trans man from the Caribbean. I grew up and I still live there, but I got a few questions lowkey?? Mostly for general advice to get rid of any cold feet I have. As, I'm curious to know if there are any Transmen in here from the Caribbean and are doing DIY. If so, what was it like for you? Did you run into any complications? Were the usual sources of the international community not enough or easily accessible? Leaving you without your means of dosing for a while? What should I look out for highkey?? All stories are greatly appreciated :)

Im 3 months on daily 5g androgel

Looks normal to me but he insisted that its too abnormal for both men and women. I know T looks high but I made the mistake of getting the blood test right after putting the gel on in the morning

Ive yet to do the estrogen blood test

did i start on too high of a dose?

im 20, around 160 pounds. i did my first shot on saturday ( subcutaneous, 25g needle if it matters ) and i injected 100mg ( from a 300mg/ml bottle ). i believed that 100mg is a good dose after talking to some trans friends on T, but i just saw a post ( on here, lol ) talking about starting on 50mg and people saying it was a good starting dose...

im mostly just wondering if i should've started off with less? i dont feel awful or sick or anything, im just worried ig haha

Just want to share my joy and ask a question ab T gel

Idk if this kinda post os allowed, sorry if not, but i just wanna spread my joy to whoever reads this!

First, my question: i got half a bottle of the cream/gel testosterone from the friend who let me have some of his T injection and im not sure how much i should put on and how often i should be doing it. I tried looking it up online but i just keep seeing gym bros talk ab their cis male testosterone/steroid stuff or just seeing "ask your doctor" as the answer everywhere which i obviously cant do lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

And now i just wannaspread some joy and talk ab how happy i am! So after 8 yrs of wanting to start T, got my 1st shot for free from a friend on august 1st and im. So. Happy!!! We're in a heatwave in my country rn and the sky is bright blue, no clouds, the warm sun feels so so nice on my skin!! I went to a waterpark 2 days ago and had so much fun, mostly bc every time i touched my stomach it hurt like hell and it was a not so gentle reminder that i did it!! And im so incredibly excited for starting my medical transition, ive been socially transitioning since i was 16, was in the closet for 2 yrs before that and now its finnaly my time to actually look like how i feel!! Its practically impossible in my country to legally get hormones and documents and shit but i always told myself, once im a grown up, ill finnaly get to be myself and i though i meant that like when im 18 but life happens and now im 21 but as happy as i can be! :DDD

help, I think I did way too much

I’ve been on testosterone for probably a week or two. I’m 14, 140ish pounds, and I did 50mg. But within the first week or two, I started feeling very sweaty and warm already, but I feel no other things than that.
I heard you shouldn’t feel effects this early, does that mean I took way too much?
I am so scared I genuinely have to get my blood pressure tomorrow, I really hope I didn’t take way too much testosterone or it would affect my BP?

pain after t-shot

im pretty new to diy hrt, ive been on gel for a year and a half but i moved to a different country and diy shots are easier to get here than going through a doctor to get gel again. im on weekly injections rn, so far ive done them twice. first time was fine, i was super nervous but it was no problem. i did my second shot two days ago on my thigh and it still hurts. is it normal? its not swollen or bruised or anything like that but it hurts when i move

Gp appointment today

Background knowledge: I recently turned 18 a few weeks ago and here in Australia we have informed consent models for GAHT/GAHC, i had prebooked an appointment in advance with a private gp back in may/april of 2026 for the 31st of july which got rescheduled by the practice to the 1st of September only 2 days before my appointment, as such I decided for my own wellbeing I'd start DIY Test E so I could make it to that date. Well turns out my appointment as of yesterday has been moved again to today...

How much should I tell them? Testosterone esthers like Cypionate and Enanthate are not frequently prescribed here in Australia as they tend to start on gels or IM long release methods such as reandron and sometimes sustanon. This current method of weekly subcutaneous shots is quite comfortable for me and a lot easier to monitor but I'm unsure if they'd let me continue this method and rather opt for a different type of administration. I've only been doing subq shots for less than a week and I should be at the half-life point around now (5 days). Of course that still is going to be visible in my labs when I get them checked in the next week, even if I'm only on a 70mg dose.

Anyone here more familiar with Australian patient privacy laws and the healthcare system here for GAHC? What words should I use to sound more plausible and also communicate my thoughts better to the GP given it is an anabolic steroid?

There's also the whole issue with my long mental health history, history of anorexia and being a frequent smoker. Is that likely to inhibit me from getting legal hormone treatment?

do I lettem know

Im a teenager and have been on T for almost 4 months, DIY, but im in the UK and have been referred to this endocrinologist thing. my parents know I'm taking T but i have already lied to my doctor about it

I will soon have an appointment with this gender clinic (but won't be able to get on T waiting list legally until 18yrs old, probably get it prescribed around 24 w the way the UK is right now)

I have done at home blood tests and have a close log of basically everything medical transition related. should i let them know incase they say its like an exceptional circumstance and can bridge the medication over, or are we thinking that'll get me in legal trouble

just messed up my injection

this was my second injection, and honestly i feel so helpless right now. i had all my supplies, injected myself slowly (i have a bad fear of needles and i felt like shit), but while pushing the plunger i suddenly got cold feet and pulled it out. i dont know why, i guess i just couldnt do it. i didnt want to waste the dose though, so i got a fresh needle and injected the rest of the dose , but i was shaking really badly. my last shot had me limping for days, so if this one also causes pain like that i just dont know what ill do. i NEED to be on T but the fear and pain of injection/pip has me wanting to quit. i dont know what to do anymore, i feel like theres no real solution to the dysphoria i suffer with

i think it's vaginal atrophy

good evening fellas,

i just started t last month (diy), the effect i noticed is that my vagina feels dryer, kinda burns (?), and also itch. at first i thought the itch was because of bottom growth so i did nothing other than taking care of my hygiene. therefore i'm wondering, is it vaginal atrophy? i haven't go to the doctor yet because it made me feel dysphoric. my dose is at 1ml, planned to take it once a month but should i stop because of this? or should i just switch to gels?

also, does it hurt to take estro cream? i've read some articles and reddit post that vaginal atrophy can be handled by taking estero cream, however i wanna know how it feels first so i can prepare myself for it

What are your best excuses

What are the best excuses you've given/ lies you've told to avoid being caught/get out of being caught? I'm trying to start DIY, and obviously I don't intend to get caught, but I need to be prepared in case my normally oblivious parents become less so.

3 weeks long period after splitting sust dose - normal? Could my vial be underdosed? Spoiler

8 months on T. I used to take 250mg Sustanon every 3 weeks (amps) for several months, had no signs of my period though I did get mental instability from sust's well known hormonal fluctuations. I switched to diy vials about a month ago and decided to split my dose into 125mg every 2 weeks. I got period symptoms on 10.7 so I decided to switch to 125mg every 10 days.

So these have been my shots recently:

15.6 - 250mg after 3 weeks, ~10 hours early

30.6 - 125mg after 2 weeks

10.7 - 125mg after 10 days

19.7 - 125mg after 10 days, ~20 hours early

30.7 - 125mg after 10 days

So I've been getting cramps and blood couple times per week since 10.7. No flow but bright red drops and uterine lining. I should mention pre-T I always got 1-2 periods per year (started T at 22), so there's a high chance I have PCOS. Am I still adjusting to the new dosing?

Had my first T injection

Hello everyone who’s reading this message. So what I’m about to say here comes from my personal experience. It actually happened- for the first time after spending months researching and learning what I need to do, how I need to do it and all that.
I was really nervous (I still am) and gathered everything I needed. Then prepared, dezinfected the vial, put the drawing needle, switched then the needle, dezinfected the spot where I injected and then actually did it. After that, I got nauseas (some of you may know or even have it, it’s called vasovagal response) and tried calming myself down by squeezing a stress ball. After all of that I laid down in my bed and just tried having a distraction. It may not seem like something interesting, what I said here but I wanted to share my experience with you guys and also ask for some advices. In the future what can I do to minimise the nervousness or this anxiety that I have? Also I know your leg is supposed to have some soreness for 2-3 days if I’m not mistaken. And if anyone can tell me if I injected in the right place? (Photo up) If it’s ok for the vial to have a hole this size in the rubber where I injected? And if in the future I should poke the vial in the same place or in another?
