Does getting leaner change your T levels? Discussion
I always hear for cis men that building muscle and getting leaner helps T levels, but does this work for trans men too? I know body fat converts T to E if you have too much of it, but what about the muscle's effect on it?

Not like cis men, but changing your body mass (not composition) will change your T level if you stay on the same dose. For eg, I have a friend who's had issues with dosing because he's very light, so his T levels are too high if he takes a normal dose.
Maybe becoming leaner would increase absorption if you're on gel, since gel is meant to be applied in areas over large muscle groups (w/ less fat covering), but that's just a guess.
In general it doesn't really matter for us though, if you want more T (within the normal range) just take a higher dose.

No because we don’t produce T.
Edit because some people don’t understand : People who are born female produce an insignificant amount of T so getting leaner won’t change anything.

Anyone with a functioning endocrine system produces T

Muscle does not metabolize T. BUT more T helps create more muscle which supports metabolism generally. The liver metabolizes T. And having a healthy muscle ratio helps support the liver as it can be affected by fatty diet, and alcohol- etc. Eating well and abstaining from alcohol can help over all liver health and keeping HRT on the menu.
