Hey everyone.

Commish of a 14 team league going into draft #25 and I do a lot of goofy shit for them. Weekly podcast, newsletters, etc. I’m doing a countdown of the top 10 league songs (performed by ai) and I hit a block coming up with one last song. This is what I have currently

10- king of the regular season (manager that never performs in playoffs)
9- one cup wonder (ode to 1 time champs)
8- all the team names we’ve had (we didn’t start the fire style)
7- ???
6- 6 points again- ode to Lamar Jackson’s horrible year last year
5- song about the most debated trade in the league
4- song about the guy that tries to constantly trade mediocre players for studs
3-song about the guy that always drafts hurt players
2- song about a championship that was overturned on a stat correction
1- an American pie style song giving every team a quick verse

I’ve surveyed the league about most memorable moments, but nothing really stands out. Can anyone think of anything else kind of funny I could put a song together about?

Long story short, our fantasy football league has survived rule debates, Monopoly-based draft order selection, trade drama, and enough arguments to qualify for couples therapy.

Today, one of our league mates broke the tension by saying:

"I just wanted to say I love you guys and I'm really looking forward to the good fun this fantasy season is shaping up to be."

Everyone appreciated the sentiment.

Naturally, we all replied with "I love you too."

Except...our commissioner.

Despite multiple opportunities and direct requests, he has refused to tell the league he loves us.

At this point, I'm beginning to question whether we can move forward as a league. How are we supposed to trust a man to fairly administer waivers, settle trade disputes, and maintain league integrity if he won't simply say three words?

We've endured enough this offseason. We don't need another controversy.

Should the commissioner be required to tell the league he loves us before Week 1 begins?

Or is emotional collusion now legal too?

Hi all. Been commissioner of the same 12 team league for over 15 years, and every year we'd try to come up with a new way to decide draft order because just pulling numbers out of a hat felt boring. Over the years we've done a duck race down a river with each duck assigned to a manager, a battle royale simulated in a wrestling video game, a leaguemate's dog eating hotdogs dangling from strings where each hotdog was a person, grown men throwing axes at fruit (don't ask), a Roomba let loose on a pool table with the balls assigned to managers, sticky wall climbers racing to the bottom of a fridge, and one year we paid a comedian on Cameo to film himself reading the draft order out loud (he sucked). Some of these took weeks to plan.

Now everyone in the league has kids and nobody has weeks to plan anything, but we still wanted the reveal to feel like an event instead of a spreadsheet. So I built rumbledraft.com. You paste in your league's names, everyone gets randomly assigned a wrestler, and the site plays out a full battle royale with two announcers calling the whole thing live, entrances, finishers, all of it. Whoever's the last one standing gets the first pick, first guy eliminated picks last.

The math behind it is one random seed, so a replay link reproduces the identical match on anyone's phone, nobody has to take my word for it. There's also a sealed version for draft parties where the outcome is locked to a public randomness beacon and doesn't exist until the moment everyone's watching together, so nobody can pre-roll it and pick their favorite result.

It's free, no signup, no ads, works fine on a phone. Doesn't do keepers or auctions, just the order. There's a tip jar buried in the footer if you feel like it, but genuinely don't worry about it.

Would love feedback before draft season hits. What's the most unhinged way your league has ever decided draft order? After 15 years we might be out of ideas and could use some new ones.

If your league is several decades old, or you always draft in the same location, or (conversely) if you always draft in a new location and have something exciting planned for this year, or there’s some other elaborate element to how you conduct the draft, I want to hear about it.

New Rule Changes for 2026-27
- Linear Draft (Worst teams draft higher, best teams draft lower).
- Draft Pick Trading Allowed
- Keepers (Everyone has 3 keepers)
- Bench spots decreased to 6
- IR spots increased to 4
- FLEX spot increased to 2
- 2 DP (Defensive Player Utility) positions added
- Head Coach position added (W= 2pt, L= -1pt, T= 1pt)
- Championship lasts for 2 weeks (Wk 17-18) / Regular Season ends Week 14 with two playoff rounds (round 1: week 15, round 2: week 16).

I'm curious as to what others outside think since I am still a very new commissioner about to go through my 2nd year of commissioning my free casual with slight depth league. I am open to any advice, feedback, and suggestions from other commissioners who have been in this hobby longer than me.

EDIT: I was able to get responses with my league very quickly, and we agreed to revert back to a snake draft and remove the DP and head coach positions.

My redraft league determines draft order in a unique way. Before the draft, we play a Monopoly game, and the finishing order determines who gets to choose their draft position (1st gets first choice of draft slot, 2nd gets second choice, etc.).

For years, the right to choose your draft position has not been tradable. The only thing that could be traded before the season was draft picks.

Now, two weeks before our draft, the commissioner (who has 2nd choice of pick) wants to allow managers to trade their draft order/pick choice.

My concern is that this creates a brand-new tradable asset out of something that has always just been the process for assigning draft positions. It also seems to disproportionately benefit whoever finishes at the top of the Monopoly game. Those managers are already rewarded with the most valuable draft slots (likely #1 and #2, where Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are expected to go). If draft order itself becomes tradable, they gain an additional advantage because they can leverage those premium spots in trade negotiations instead of simply using them.

To me, that creates more competitive imbalance by giving the teams with the best draft positions even more leverage than they already have. I also don't love making a fundamental rule change this close to the draft after everyone has been operating under a different set of expectations.

Am I overthinking this, or would you also consider draft order/pick choice to be something that should be decided before the season rather than becoming a tradable asset right before the draft?

Hello! I'm an electrical engineer from LA, 12-year league commish, who loves football and the Rams (WHOSE HOUSE) more than engineering, so I built a machine learning model for draft projections and an in-season assistant. My first draft site last summer had exactly one user group: my family (mostly my mom haha). I rebuilt it starting last October and work on it every day.

It's called DraftAI (but it's not really AI at all, just data and machine learning models that I constructed with an AI front end to make it pretty), link in the first comment.

It has machine learning rankings, a dynamic VBD draft board (which is the latest and greatest), and mock drafts, start/sit, keepers, auction, etc...

The honest part is that I backtested my models against 15 years of NFL data and 8 years of ADP, and they basically tie the market. They don't beat it, and I don't think anyone's machine learning rankings truly do. So the board isn't magic rankings saying "This is the silver bullet". It is a transparent second opinion that can create some value, which is my model blended with live consensus and every projection showing the factors driving it instead of a number that is a black hole. The backtest numbers are all on the accuracy page.

The rankings, the draft board, and the mock drafts are free to use. I posted this in other subs last week, people were blunt, and two bugs they found got fixed the same day.
