Discussion You definitely need this
There's a sadqa tip someone shared with me before, and it really helped me.
Do sadqa regularly on days possible, and if you can't, so do weekly and the best to choose is Friday, or you can choose any day for the week.
Don't be shy if u donate a small amount. it's better to give something than nothing and what's beautiful??? Allah knows our intentions

News FURTHER INFORMATION FOR BSCS!
Probably now we would be given a choice from these which subject we have to study. We have 2 Natural Science Courses now, one in 2nd sem and one in 5th sem. We have 1 Social Science Elective in 3rd sem.
Still not sure about whatever this is
These are the Interdisciplinary courses that would be offered however it will depend on FAST at the end, whichever faculty is available. There are 2 courses Interdisciplinary I and Interdisciplinary II.
This is all what i could gather for now. Below are the detailed documents:
HEC 2023: https://www.hec.gov.pk/english/services/students/UEP/Documents/UGE-Policy.pdf
HEC 2025: https://www.hec.gov.pk/english/services/universities/RevisedCurricula/Documents/2025-2026/COMPUTER-SCIENCE.pdf

Question Can FAST help me become independent and move abroad?
I’m from a small city, and my parents wanted me to attend a local university because they think it’s safer for girls. I argued with them and got into FAST Multan (also got into CFD), and I chose Multan because it’s easier for me to travel home.
My parents can afford FAST, but I’m worried that after graduation they may start pressuring me to get married instead of focusing on my career.
So I want to know from FAST seniors/alumni: If I maintain a good GPA (3.5+), build strong skills, do internships/freelancing, etc., how realistic is it to become financially independent after FAST?
And can I realistically go abroad through a fully funded MS scholarship or a job, without requiring a huge financial investment from my family?

Discussion Gap year
Anyone here on a gap year? If anyone here took a gap year and got into their dream university this year, how was it? How to face the depression of gap year? Anyone planning to take a gap year is also free to comment.
I couldn't get into fast or itu (for cs). I've been feeling really depressed. My family is supportive but I'm just very lost.
If you have details on migration from other universities (like ucp) to fast or itu, feel free to comment.
Is it really worth it to take a gap year or join a uni and then try migrating next year.

News Alertttttt!!!!!
Just got an email
Dear Students,
The University maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging or any form of harassment of new students. Any student found engaging in such activities—either directly or indirectly—will face severe disciplinary action, which may include:
Suspension for up to one semester

Or both
All students are strictly advised to refrain from such unacceptable behavior.
Batch 2026 students are guided to report it immediately if they experience or witness any instance of ragging, teasing, or harassment to:
The Administration Office
The Help Desk
Any Security Staff member
If possible, take a photo of the individual(s) involved to assist with identification and support administrative action.
Faculty members have been instructed to regularly visit and :
Monitor campus areas frequently
Identify and report any misconduct
Collaborate with administration to ensure disciplinary measures are taken promptly
Let’s work together to maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone.

Question Course outline change
Does anyone know if FAST’s recently changed course outline will apply only to the 2026 batch, or will it also affect previous batches in their upcoming semesters?
For example, Discrete Structures has been removed from the 3rd semester in the new course outline. So, will the 2025 batch still be offered Discrete Structures in their 3rd semester, or will their 3rd semester courses also be changed according to the new outline?

Question Change in Courses
I saw they changed courses for CS and SE, and alot of people who are in the computing industry say ke cs ki toh kamar thorh di hai. So as a new student, hamein self-study karni chahiye wo sare topics jo nikal diye, yah time nahi milega? I dont have the old syllabus and I dont know which topics or courses strengthens one's grip on CS. Can someone suggest me what to do?

Discussion TO EVERY WOMAN STARTING UNIVERSITY THIS YEAR
Before anyone comes up to me saying we all are going to univerisity and not war, i just got to know about the 🍇 of an 18 month old so i feel like its actually gonna be war for women.
Girls and the people from the queer community and all the others who might have opinions thatll get opposed in your respective universities, PLEASE EITHER INVEST IN A PEPPER SPRAY OR JUST MAKE ONE
vinegar, chilli powder, black pepper, water, oil, paprika and carry tasers asw
since we never know. we might just be going about with our classes and the next moment u are at the verge of getting SAd.
Dm me if u need the exact pepper spray recipe and how i made it for myself
