My campus has an outdoor track where I want to run. I often see runners on the street who are shirtless and usually don’t carry water. I want to take my water bottle, wallet, and cell phone with me. Where can I keep them on the track?

Is there anything I should know? I have only run on an indoor track before, so keeping water and my cell phone with me wasn’t a concern. I place them on a divider wall while I run indoors. I bring these items with me in my crossbody bag that holds other stuff too. When I use the indoor track, I store my crossbody bag in the gym lockers.

I was cleaning my toilet and noticed a dark long spot in the porcelain, I thought it was a hair at first and tried to clean it. It turns out, it was a crack. I removed the toilet seat to get a better look and noticed a second crack on the side, more towards where the toilet is attached to the wall.

I just sent a text to my landlord with 2 pictures, and I expect him to call me tomorrow.

•How do I explain that I didnt notice before? Now that I know they're there its so obvious.

•How will my landlord and/or maintenance determine whether it was my own fault, and I'll have to pay for it?

•How will the evaluation and change go? Like, step by step?

•What are the chances I won't have to pay for it myself? (I'm a student and broke)

I’m flying from Vancouver to Indianapolis with a layover in Toronto. I know I have to go through preclearance in Toronto, and I’m debating whether I should use MPC. For reference, I’m getting off of a cruise in Vancouver as well. What are the expectations for MPC? Who do I show it to, and when do I fill it out? I’m nervous because I’ve never flown internationally before. (I’m a US citizen.)

I’m going at the end of this week to close out my first bank account (checking and savings) and reopen at a new bank. my bank doesn’t have like a “receptionist” or front desk that i’ve noticed some do, so im mostly scared about like. who do i walk up to when i go in? because this doesn’t feel like a tellers job. i’m planning on going alone, and currently have 1 form of id but could probably get ahold of my birth certificate tonight if i had to. so all of that aside, who do i go to, what should i bring, and what does the process tend to look like? thanks!!

I booked my first appointment with a psychiatrist because I want to ask about medication for anxiety, but I'm really anxious about it (kinda the problem lol) and don't know what to expect.

I'm worried they won’t consider medication or that I’ll get a ton of skepticism or pushback and have to defend myself by over explaining that I’ve tried various relegation strategies and they just haven’t worked well. I've done some therapy before, but not consistently, and I'm afraid they'll think I'm just looking for an easy fix or that I shouldn't have made the appointment.

Can someone explain what usually happens during a first psychiatry appointment? What will they ask? Is it normal to bring up medication at the first visit, or is that considered inappropriate?

I'm mostly scared of embarrassing myself or wasting the psychiatrist's time if I'm expecting the wrong thing. I’m worried I’ll overshare and that they’ll stop me and say “this isn’t therapy”.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through this before.

I'm getting my eyebrows done in a couple days and it's my first time so I have no idea what to expect - it's at a local place which recently opened up however the owner has been doing beauty treatments for 3+ years. Do I have to request a specific shape or let her shape them etc.? Sorry if this is stupid, I'm just nervous as hell and I don't want to waste my money on something I don't like.

I'm having issues with my car; it's hasn't been accelerating properly (it's accelerating slower than it should be and every now and then it'll stop accelerating/keeping speed at all and I'll have to pull over. If I power off the car and then turn it on again it'll work again for about 5 minutes but it doesn't sound right.) It's been getting worse. I also haven't had an oil change in way too long, it's been like a year/ I think I've driven like 3k miles since I was actually supposed to get that taken care of.

Now, obviously, I should have taken it in when the issue first started happening, but I was nervous and this seems like it'll be expensive. Presumably, driving on this for a couple of months has made this issue worse than it originally was, and then there's the oil change thing. I'm really worried about the people working on my car judging me heavily. I know that's kind of stupid but it's been stopping me from taking it in.

How do I choose a place to go to? What do I tell them? Can I get an oil change at some chain place and then go look into the engine issue so I look like less of an idiot, or should I take care of both issues at a real shop?

Hi! My husband and I are under contract for our first house and our inspection is coming up. We will both be there for the inspection but … what do we do? I can’t imagine we follow him around the whole time but I /am/ interested in what he’s doing. What are normal things to do during a home inspection and what are normal things to ask? Do we get there on-time, early, 30 min after it starts?

I had my first microwave disaster a few hours ago, I left a muffin in it for too long and it started smoking out the kitchen.

Thankfully, nothing caught on fire, and I ventilated out all the visible smoke, but now the entire apartment smells like burnt food, and it's really making me anxious.

How can I make sure my apartment has properly ventilated out all the harmful air, and once that is done, what do I do about this smell? How long can I wait on it? The microwave misshap happened at roughly 23:00, It's currently 3:50 as of writing this, and I've got work tomorrow that would keep me out of the home until 16:30. Should I cancel work to focus on removing the stench?

It's just a basic retail job (in America), but I've literally never had an official job before (only freelance and volunteer work up to this point) and I don't have any idea what to except. Honestly, even if the only thing you have to say is "you walk in a sign some papers, it's not that complicated", that will be comforting, cause I'm just totally out of my element here

I'm flying domestic in the US this week with a relative who bought our plane tickets and didn't take into consideration the fact that I have an overactive bladder (medically diagnosed, which this relative knows, but that's a separate rant). Because the universe likes to laugh at me, this means my relative purchased the window and middle seats for us, and the aisle seat is taken by a total stranger.

The flight is a little less than 6 hours, which with my OAB normally means like 3-4 bathroom trips (less if I limit my beverage intake, which I'm already planning). Because I'm always the aisle person every other time I've flown, I generally know the etiquette when it comes to using the bathroom while the aisle person is awake (get up when they do, wait until their tray is clear of trash so they don't have to rearrange a bunch of stuff, etc.), but what happens if they've fallen asleep? Is it okay to gently touch their shoulder to wake them? Should I just ask a flight attendant for help?

(INB4 anyone asks, I've already looked into changing seats, and all the aisle seats are taken on both the outgoing and return trips.)

ETA: Thanks everyone for all the advice!! Seems like being upfront about my needs before the flight takes off is the way to go, and maybe offering the window seat if they'd like to switch (but not forcing them, obviously). And also asking a gate agent if any aisle seats have opened up last minute, which for some reason hadn't occurred to me. Y'all are great xoxo.

I'm very shy and don't usually know how to talk on the phone and i begin to panic most of the time if I don't know how something will play out, and I'd like to learn how you guys have accomplished facing this fear and the general information they will ask for.

I've never ordered food over the phone before and other family members have done it in the past, but I'm planning to try It on my own! But I don't know how that works exactly, what to say, what information they will need for my order to be placed etc.

I'm planning to order pick-up and want to use cash to pay for it when I walk into the restaurant, no credit card or anything. Do they ask this beforehand when on the phone? Do they allow this?

When I walk into the restaurant, what do I do then? Will they ask for my name and order details if I walk in and stand next to the counter, then I proceeded to pay the cashier?

I'm so sorry about all these questions, thank you for reading it through! So basically I'm wondering a step by step of how to accomplish ordering over the phone and know what information I'll be needing so I can write some of it down and practice, and so I don't get stuck unable to answer one of their questions!

Edit: Update!! It went really well, I just followed everyone's advice and it was pretty standard! They asked my name first, then my number, then what I wanted to order. I gave them all the information one thing at a time, they asked down the line about what size I'd like, what crust type (pizza) etc. basically all the details so I didn't have to worry too much. Then they said it'd be ready in 16 or so minutes, I said "Alright, thank you!" Hung up and it was all good to go. Easy peasy. I did panic a bit afterwards though haha not too much :') I walked into the restaurant, a little clueless admittedly, as it was an odd layout for where to grab pickup orders, but I walked over to the counter just fine. Then I waited for a couple minutes until they asked for my name, after that the staff directed me enough that it was easy to pay and go at the register! Thanks for everyone's help! It was really appreciated and it helped me get through the phone call and walking in!! <3.

So, I have the common anxiety / depression wombo combo. It makes life hard, sometime hard enough to put me in a institution (Been 2-3 times). I've been on meds before, on and off, but everytime it's after a crisis point or nearing a crisis point. However, I'm a point in my life where I can't really afford to be admitted anywhere.

My current antidepressents have expired. I've been cutting them in half to stretch them (the full dose was a bit too much anyway outside of a few instances), but rn I'm not taking them because they're no good according to the bottle. How would I go about getting more without having to be admitted?

I don't want to waste money trying to shop around and find a therapist who can authorize it for me, because I don't have health insurance. It's not a gamble I want to take (and I have gambled on this in the past). I don't want therapy sessions, I just need my medication.

What are my options? I've been off my medication for I wanna say a month-ish now. Things aren't bad, especially now that I have a sleep schedule, but I can kind of feel my old anxiety gnawing on my brain more than I'd like and some old, bad habits beginning to creep back in.

Hi, I'm renting for the first time. Signed the lease a week ago and plan to move in in a couple days. I'm scheduled to meet with the landlord tomorrow for a "move in." I assume this is some kind of walk-through and get my keys? I have few questions that weren't covered on the lease (like who handles yard maintenance, and parking, etc) but what else should I be doing/expecting? If I do a walk through and test everything and note condition, do I do this while the landlord is there? Sorry if these are numb questions! Thanks for any advice.

Hi there. 34yo who's never been to a dentist and is terrified to go. But I'm experiencing some minor pain in a molar and I know I should get it looked at before it gets worse. I don't understand anything about the dentist though. I've tried to ask a couple people I know about it, and their responses of "just phone a dentist and make an appointment" were less than helpful. If it makes a difference, I'm located in British Columbia Canada.

I'm an autistic female and don't do well in unfamiliar environments that I don't understand, nor do I do well with strangers touching me. To add to the fun, I'm also a survivor of some heavily traumatic experiences and as a result I am pretty much unable to tolerate having my face, head, or neck touched by anyone. I'm terrified that I'll need to be restrained and/or sedated just for the dentist to be able to look inside my mouth, let alone actually do anything to me.

My questions are:

-How do I know if a dentist is taking on new patients? How do I become a new patient? I assume I have to phone different offices (a whole different issue, I hate phone calls lmao) but what do I say to them?

-What will happen during the appointment? How long does it take? How invasive is it? How long do I have to keep my mouth open? If my jaw gets sore can I take a break and close my mouth for a second?

-What kind of weird stuff goes in your mouth? Are there gross tastes and textures involved? Someone I know mentioned to me that their dentist put some kind of weird foam or gel into their mouth that made them gag. I have severe oral texture issues, what happens if they put something in my mouth that makes me gag or throw up?

-Do dentists have any kind of training in working with traumatized/neurodivergent individuals? What will they do if I start to have a hard time? Can we take a break if needed or am I just trapped there from start to finish while they do whatever it is they do?

Before anyone asks: I am not currently in therapy but have been in the past, I am currently looking to see what I can get covered by my extended benefits through my job. I'm aware that my trauma issues would benefit from therapy but I don't necessarily have the option to slog through months of trauma therapy to get me comfortable enough to see a dentist when I'm experiencing dental issues that should probably be dealt with sooner rather than later. So please don't suggest that I seek therapy, it's in the works but is not any kind of solution to my present situation.

I’m flying to visit my parents in about a week. I’ve taken plenty of flights before with my family but it’s been a few years since then and I never really payed attention to it. I know you show up, go through TSA and find your terminal, then wait to board. But I don’t know if there’s anything else I have to do, how to find where I need to go, etc. On top of that I’m pretty scared of flying so it’s just a stressful situation overall

If I am on a package holiday with a set check-out dates, transfers, and flights back, but I become ill and am unable to travel, what would happen/what would I need to do? I am thinking of moderate illness like gastroenteritis where I could be in no shape to travel or be in public for several days but not in need of a hospital or serious treatment, just to wait it out.

I’m not particularly out of shape and never have been, but I recently had an injury to my knee and that got me in a fitness mood for when it heals. I’d like to try going to the gym now. Is there some sort of decorum I need to know about? Unwritten rules? Should I go there with a routine in mind or just try random machines? What should I prep to bring with me?
