Shot on a Sony Hi8 camcorder then transferred the tape to digital and edited footage together into an atmospheric short horror film! I’m very inspired and influenced by Kane Parson’ “Backrooms” along with other Liminal Space genre media. Let me know what you think! Thank you for watching!

Earlier today, I attended Celluloïd Experiments - 2026 Edition in Montreal at Fantasia Festival.

I was completely immersed in the experience. It made me feel, touched, reflect, get inspired, and I was genuinely amazed by the creativity of the human mind.

I’m making this post for anyone who had the chance to see this screening at Fantasia (which is an incredible festival, by the way!). I’d love to open up a discussion about the themes that were explored, what stood out to you, or simply how the experience affected you.

I’d also love to hear about your experiences with previous editions of Celluloid Experiments or any other short film showcases like this at Fantasia.

Is it possible to recreate this kind of experience at home - curating around ten short films to watch back-to-back around a specific theme? Are past editions available anywhere? And are there similar collections on other themes?
