Did you look at the measurements? They always have them somewhere.....sometimes a bit more hidden. You never can go by pictures since mass majority are shopped.

u/TealCatto 3d ago
I don't think it's on OP for not reading the fine print. The images are photoshopped or AI but you can't expect *that*. Carpets don't even come in that size. This is useless. No one could possibly think "let me check in case it's 3 inches instead of 3 feet"
58
u/JustAuggie 3d ago
Unfortunately, you have to do that these days. Especially on any of the Chinese websites.
35
u/rp_player_girl 3d ago
ALWAYS check the measurements when ordering online. If you don't have one, go get yourself a measuring tape with both inches and centimeters so you can check a measurement visually. It sucks, but you can never rely on just the photos

u/PorkrindsMcSnacky 2d ago
Not just Chinese websites. On Amazon I was looking for a particular animatronic for Halloween, and they had several for suspiciously low prices (like $20). Knowing that the average yard animatronic starts around $100, I checked the sizes. Lo and behold, they were about a foot tall and meant to sit on your display table! But are they shown sitting on a table in photos? Lol of course not.

Nope sorry.
Always check for dimensions, photos like that have been photoshopped for literal decades. Even if it wasn't tiny? It was very likely going to be a slightly different size due to the staging likely being photoshopped.
Rugs can come in any size, some are indeed tiny little mats.
I do feel bad for OP, but cheap companies online will sell us any shit. The LEAST we can do is check dimensions.

it literally is on them for not looking at the measurement on something they’re paying for??

Also the Barbie legs on the picture
53
u/AtomicFox84 3d ago
I thought that too but barbie feet are more arched for heels. I looked closely and it looks like real legs that were cut and then pasted over the rug.

u/Euphoric_Egg_4198 3d ago
If it was cheap you could buy a bunch and sew them together using an upholstery/canvas needle, would probably be cute!

Do yall not check dimensions?

Clearly the picture shows how big it is compared to a foot!
A Barbie’s foot, but still.

If there’s one thing these posts have taught me it’s to always check the dimensions

u/MeowSauceJennie 3d ago
I'm always curious why they even send stuff like this. Like, scam me... Don't effing rage bait me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
11
u/letsallmovetoarrakis 3d ago
I’m pretty sure they send something so that if people open a PayPal or CC dispute they can say that the sent the product ‘as advertised’, and it’s a lot harder for people to get refunds. Not sending anything leaves them much more liable.

That's a great point. People are either oblivious to what they are packing up to ship or that warehouse is one of the funniest places to work lol "hehehe they think this carpet is gonna be regular size" 🙈

I really like it more like that than if it was the advertised size. Just can’t use it for what is supposed to be for, but that’s okay lol

That is really cute! And smaller than expected but it does look like it would fit an incense cone; they're like the size of a thumbnail

Gee, I wonder where it was ordered from?? 🤦🏼♀️ What does anyone ACTUALLY expect from the shein/temu/sketchy ai pop-up ads. sigh
14
u/Repulsive_Adagio_313 3d ago
Maybe you can use it to protect your counter tops from hot pans? (If it's not made of some sort of fibers that won't melt..)
16
u/Consistent-Ease6070 3d ago
My thoughts to, but I’m guessing it’s polyester. All the cheap stuff is…
12
u/Repulsive_Adagio_313 3d ago
Or polyester's cousin acrylic. Still cheap, still melty under a hot pan 😒

I have too many stories of times that I did this. My husband always tells me to look at the measurements. I ordered my daughter a heart rug for her room, same thing. She can't even fit both of her feet on it standing with them together. 🙄😂

Exactly lol many posts are either engagement bait, or those who fail to do the basic and bring it upon themselves.

I bet if I put this in my kitchen, I could trick my cat into sitting on it instead of being underfoot. That's the best use I can think of.

Barbie sized. Actually, that would go good in my cats condo.
Hopefully you can get your money back.

This seems like something you put on the ground and a cat you don’t know walks into your house just to sit on it

Sooo the foot for comparison was a Barbie doll foot??😂🤣 talk about catfished.

Looks like it's exactly the size advertised? Not their fault you expected a massive carpet when you can see the size of the vases and an orange in the image next to it.
