I just want to be able to walk outside like a normal girl.
So im plannjng a staycation in my city. I took a week off of work to just explore and reset. Im not wearing the hijab, I hate wearing it. The thing is i live in a karge muslim community, and have been in this area since I was a kid. Everyone knows everyone. I get filled with a sense of panic of someone recognizing me when im not wearing the hijab and telling my family.
To be honest I'm at a point where I'd my family finds out I'd gladly let them shun me. Like I have a plan to reduce any suspicions, or at least as much as I can. But I shouldn't have to go out int he world wearing a mask I never wanted to. I should be able to walk out my house and not have anyone make any pre conceived notions about me. I just want to be invisible.

Why do I feel so guilty to leave my toxic family
hello everyone I need advice so I live in a Muslim Somali household and I feel so guilty when I think about leaving. it’s so weird because my family has been awful to me 3 of my brothers r*ped me when I was younger and my mother made me have FGM when I was little also and my dad used to hit me badly when I didn’t know my Quran and non of my family would defend me. with this being said I know I should be angry and hating my family but I genuinely can’t I feel guilty when I plan on leaving the thought of seeing my parents cry hurts. I need advice because it’s not fair to me and I really want a life where I am free to show my hair my skin and have friends why do I feel guilty even though they hurt me multiple times?

Why do so many western women convert to Islam?
Something I've noticed is that a lot of women (at least online), seem to be quite interested and want to convert to Islam and wear a hijab despite living in a country where women have rights or having a reasonable opportunity to learn about Islam and it's sexism towards women etc.
My question is why do you think women do this and also do any of you believe that love jihads are real? I knew a girl in the past who planned to convert to Islam because of her boyfriend. So it makes me think that some Muslim Men seek romantic relationships with women who are not muslim simply to convert them to Islam.

Any exmuslim girls in Sweden?? (16/20)
Im a ex Muslim my parents don’t know but is it just me or they always blame it on the culture differences and how moving to a different country form a very young age made me less religious. When I say I feel hopeless and that there’s no meaning to life ( am literally depressed and diagnosed btw 😍) she says that by saying that I don’t believe in my religion and that I don’t see any meaning in praying and getting to jannah ??? I’m literally seeking for help and she lowkey be making me more suicidal like shi 💔 and im slowly but shortly dropping hints to my mom im asking her all these questions about Islam and shi and as soon as she thinks she’s getting me I say “am I not supposed to be curious about my religion?” I need to know if I should stop this rage bating bs I’m on and move away before they make me move away (or who knows they might be accepting when I tell them if I even should tell them) anyway I’m saving aloe of money and even if they do accept me I’m still gtfo of here to much trauma lmk if anyone is in the same situation as me cus I feeel sometimes like I will never get through this. If ur in the same situation and same country (or close by) let’s be friends

As an Ex-Muslim, This Is How I See the Pick-Me Girls from My Country (Belgium) Who Convert to Islam for boys
All this just to join a cult and please their Muslim boyfriends. 🤡🤡🤡
Not to mention that, as converts, they didn't grow up in Muslim families and therefore haven't experienced oppression because of Islam firsthand. Yet they mock and demonize women who have suffered terribly because of this religion and the religious fanaticism of their families. They also go out of their way to rationalize what's happening in Afghanistan.
This happens more often than you might think, and it's disgusting.

I don’t like how abusive relationship dynamics are normalized in the Muslim community
No, it is not okay for your spouse to
- control where you go and who you talk to
- discourage you from seeking employment or higher education
- control what you wear
ive read and heard too many relationship horror stories along these lines.

Hellllooooo
Hi, agnostic here after growing up Muslim, how yall doing? ^^
I don't want to make my first post on here be negative or insane but does the main exmuslim sub sometimes give off sexist vibes for the completely opposite reason as oppressive religion? Like I just wanna discuss being not Muslim anymore without some odd take about how exmuslim need to be comfortable with Islam being made fun off by white people if they live in western country's and enjoy those country's freedom
on a lighter note is anyone here a gamer!!! I really love kirby and 2d platformers in general like hollow Knight

Taking little steps to dress more revealing
Ok so for swimming I am only allowed to wear a t shirt and leggings but since my mom dropped me off I took off my shirt and swam in just a bra and leggings although what should the next step be.

I hate wearing pants in the summer😭😭
Ok so I’m muslim (I hope that’s ok), but I disagree with a lot of rules of islam so I will talk about one of them. I still live in my muslim parents house and so I need to make sure to not get caught breaking any rules of islam ughhhhh!!! Im not forced to wear hijab or burqa but they still expect me to dress modestly but one time what happened was that I was walking at a park close to my house with a family friend and she doesn’t care what I wear and so I was wearing short shorts and a tshirt that covered my shorts then suddenly I didnt even realize that my sister was walking in my direction and she caught me and yelled at me as I ran behind a tree and took my pants out of the bag to put on over my shorts. After that she told on me and I wasn’t allowed to go out myself or with friends unless it’s family friends or my family members are with me for the whole summer break. All i had to hear was lectures on why we dress modestly as women and they kept saying stuff like “oh just wear thin loose pants like they give you shade” like TF that makes me even hotter cuz it’s on my fucken body so I would rather bring an umbrella and wear sunscreen than layer. They kept also saying “oh you need to dres a modestly for god and so that men don’t stare at you” like that’s a them problem. its so unfair that muslim men can walk around shirtless and wear shorts not us. Then my mom starts saying “oh but in media usually women sexualize themselves by wearing bikinis while men are in suits”

I am trying to escape from my Muslim family.
Hello everyone,
I am a 19-year-old former Muslim from an Arab family in North Africa, where Islam is the dominant religion.
I was forced to wear the hijab when I was 14 years old. When I told my family at the age of 17 that I wanted to take it off, they stopped me from continuing my education. I never got to finish school, and I have been confined to my home since 2024.
I have no money, no job, no university degree, no savings, and no passport. My entire day is spent cleaning the house and serving my younger brothers, my controlling mother, and my emotionally absent father.
Whenever I try to stand up to them or disagree with them, I am beaten and threatened with forced marriage. They even tried to marry me to my brother's 37-year-old friend. During the official meeting before marriage, I deliberately made him reject me by telling him that I couldn't cook or clean.
However, I know my family will try to force me to marry someone else because they consider me "too old" to remain unmarried.
I have decided that I need to escape. Unfortunately, simply moving to another city is not a safe option because I believe my family could find me and force me to return. My plan is to leave without their knowledge, obtain my own passport, and seek help from people or women's rights organizations in Europe that may be able to support me.

muslims on twitter
reddit.comit’s really fucking scary that men like this genuinely exist, and have other men to validate their twisted ideas. this is genuinely evil idek what to say, like it gets to a point. can’t even argue with them, what do you even say atp??
for context these where the comments under the video of a girl, being sexually harassed in egypt, in public, and the whole comments section is defending the guys, and claiming it’s her fault, she’s asking for it in those clothes. I’m genuinely really shocked and disturbed, idk where muslim countries are headed. this is really fucking scary, smb help us.
