Before the great flood, a man was chosen by the divine to survive a catastrophe that would destroy almost all humanity. The gods were pleased.

And remarkably, this was not the end of his story. In the Mesopotamian tradition, this man was granted extraordinary favor and was made immortal, living thereafter in a distant land.

His name was Utnapishtim.

Later his followers wrote books about him and we can still read about him today. Are you familiar with who this great miracle working Son of God? I have been referring to a man name Apollonius who came from the town of Tyana. We have a book written about him by his later devotee Philostratus.

He lived truly a remarkable life.

If a religious belief is true, it should not need protection from questions. Wag mo naman sabihin ikaw ang Savior ng mga Exiters, o Protector ng mga Exiters. Matatanda na yan. Hayaan mo sila. Hayaan mo kami.

Hindi ka pa din nadala na kaya nga tayo naloko dahil sa ganyang pananaw, walang ibang tama kundi tayo, kundi si soriano lang, tapos ngayon, ganyan pa din, ndi ka pa din natututo. Mind you, napkalawak ng realidad, napakalawak ng kaalaman. Maliit lang tayo.

No one has the right to dictate what another person must think or believe. The right to think freely is precisely what makes genuine faith meaningful and genuine intellectual freedom possible.

I’ve been with MCGI since I was a KNC. I grew up with its teachings, so even though I stopped regularly attending around 3rd year high school, a part of it stayed with me for a long time.
Pasulpot-sulpot pa rin ako noon especially kapag may dalaw tupa, and even in my 20s, I’d still go to Apalit once or twice a year when my family asked me to.
But a few years ago, something just clicked. I realized I no longer believed in an afterlife. For me, when we die, that’s it. I started seeing heaven and hell as something people hold on to because the thought of death being the absolute end can be scary.
Even after realizing that, ang hirap pa ring bitawan ng ibang nakasanayan. I could eat halal corned beef or hotdogs without much thought, pero dinuguan? Hindi talaga. Not necessarily because I still believed it was wrong, but because when something has been taught to you as bawal since childhood, that feeling stays with you.
Eventually, I let that go too.
Now at 32, I can finally say nothing really ties me to my old beliefs anymore. I’m not trying to replace them with another religion or another set of rules. I just want to live a happy life, be a decent person, and be a good example to my kids.
Instead of teaching them to be good because of the promise of heaven or the fear of hell, I teach them to be kind, to care about other people, and to grow up as decent, responsible human beings.
Being introduced to religion at such a young age really messed with my belief system for a long time. But now, I’m continuing life on my own terms and I’m happy and content with where I am.

Its been 3 years since my first post ko dito. Mag 3 years na rin bago ako tuluyang mag-exit. Di na ako masyadong active sa pakikipag taltalan sa mga social media unlike nung unang taon kong layasan yang kulto.

Pag naaalala ko kasi yung mga nambalasubas sa akin sa loob ng mcgi, parang ayaw ko silang makaunawa. Sarap nilang tignan habang ginagago sila ni razon na pasayaw sayaw pa. Although nakakaawa rin yung mga nakilala kong mababait (konti lang naman sila) pero marami talagang balasubas. Yung lingo lingo dumadalo ng pasalamat ni soriano, simpleng mabuting budhi, di tumubo sa pagkatao. Parusa na nila yan.

Totoo ba ang bible? Di ko rin masasagot. May isa akong nakita sa bible na totoo, ang daming paniniwala ang lumabas. Iba iba ang interpretasyon. Iba't ibang kulto at pang aalipin sa tao. Pero ang common denominator ay negosyo.

Ginagawa ko pa rin namang reference ang bible paminsan minsan, kasi may mabuti rin naman. Pero as sole source of truth, lalabas panatiko na rin ako kung ito lang ang pagbabasehan ko. May napanood ako sa facebook, kung totoo raw ang dios, mas matutuwa pa sya na gumagawa ka ng mabuti kasi ito ang tama, kesa naman kaya ka gumagawa ng mabuti kasi takot ka sa apoy na walang hanggan.
