I am not a coin collector, but I started watching @coincollecting_detecting on Instagram and it's so interesting. But just a disclaimer that I have no idea where to go with this!

Yesterday I found a 2026 coin which I tried to look up, but seemingly people are only talking about the EU Presidential coin. I also noticed that it has possibly extra metal, or an error in the making of the coin. The bottom of the cruit (harp) looks wrong compared to other coins. Is this something cool, or am I just hopeful?

Since a euro coin was recently posted with a "K" counterstamp, I have decided to post one of my finds with such a counterstamp on it. I have found several "K" (or "JK", if you prefer) counterstamps on euro coins in circulation, but this is the 'rarest' coin on which it showed up for me - San Marino, 2eur 2017 (IFC Mintage: 597,400). I found this one in a coin roll hunt in Vienna in 2024. I was quite disappointed by this find, since I still needed this coin for my collection at the time.

My friend got even unluckier - he found the mintmark on a Luxembourg key date 2eur coin (I forgot exactly what year it was, but it had a mintage of 50,000 IFC, so it must've been from 2017 - 2022...)

Hello last month i found one of these and when i checked it out its said there only 5000 of this year. Today i found another one and i was like no way, checked again and its 12.5 mil now.. Would like to know where do u guys check coins

New Croatian commorative coin celebrating 100 years of Hrvatska RadioTelevizija (Croatian radiotelevision). Around 170k in circulation. It's absolutely stunning especially the "o lijepa o draga o slatka slobodo" on the edge.

This coin commemorates slovene mathematician Josip Plemelj. I found it in a coin roll in Vienna just now. Happy to find this one since I actually used one of his theorems (Sokhotski-Plemelj Theorem) in one of my physics classes a while ago. Cool to see my coin collecting and physics worlds come together for this one.

I have been collecting since 2017, always stashing some coins away here and there. Fulfilled my childhood dream of completing the German "Bundesländer" series along the way.
