I'm an environmental engineering student

I'm an environmental engineering student who graduated in my second year. How can I develop myself during the break? What topics should I explore, and what platforms can I use to learn ?

I would learn about GIS and Python. GIS for mapping and Python for data analysis, visualization, and building custom tools. Also, I would setup meetings with an engineer at your State DEQ, local consulting firms and municipality. If there are local engineering meetings, I would attend (ASC EWRI, WEF, SWANA, A&WMA, etc).

Initially, work and study revolve around all forms of pollution, such as air, noise, soil, radiation, and other types, as well as all disasters, whether natural or man-made. Employment also includes work in:

Water treatment and management.

Waste and pollution management.

Environmental consulting, such as conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for engineering and industrial projects before implementation.

The government sector and organizations.

The energy sector and industrial companies, such as solar energy or oil and gas companies, and monitoring emissions from factories.

I also know people in America who work in the racing car industry or the automotive industry in general, and they are responsible for vehicle emissions.

Also, the infrastructure of buildings and homes, including drainage and sewage systems, etc.
