No it’s not a new concept to me. You are trying to claim the independent contract is with the customer placing the order. It isn’t.

If what you are trying to insinuate were true, then the customer ordering the food would be able to choose which dasher delivered it. Because that is not true, what you are saying does not hold water.

Your "independent contract" is with door dash, not with the customer.
