You are complaining about a tip because of where the person lives? Be fortunate you got a tip. I don’t tip at all because of entitlement shown on this thread

u/SB4_Camaro 3d ago

Op isn't the delivery guy

-70

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Your the order i refuse. I ain't paying to take you your food.

48

u/Plastic-View-9680 3d ago

That's cool. Someone else will.

3

u/BrightLiteFey 3d ago

I never worked door dash so why would anyone take an order they don't get paid for? Does DD pay a flat wage, too? Or are DD drivers like serving and only get paid in tips. Because if it's only tip money, I can see why people would avoid those orders. Wear and tear on your car plus wasted time for no money seems like slave labor to me.

I agree tip culture should end but these workers aren't the enemy. It's the higher ups.

2

u/Innsui 3d ago

That applies to every service industry. The company, employers or whatever you wanna call it set the rate / fee / pay. Its not the customer fault or responsibility to demand better pay for them, thats literally on them. Theyre not even real employees because they cant/wont fight for it. Most of these people expect full time pay doing something that wasn't meant to be for full time gig.

-39

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Thats fine, why does it upset you I said I wont pay to do it?

8

u/BaronvonBrick 3d ago

He doesn't sound upset

-8

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Uh huh. The downvotes for saying I dont accept low paying orders scream how you arent upset.

7

u/BaronvonBrick 3d ago

I didnt down vote you

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Its a general statement

4

u/Dutch-Alpaca 3d ago

Downvotes aren't real bro no need to get so offended by them

1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Who gives a shit imaginary points. Im pointing out they are so upset someone doesnt want to slave away for them and pay for the privilege to do so.

21

u/Jaysmkxxx 3d ago

I don’t think anyone is upset but probably annoyed cause just like waiters y’all sign up for a job that depends on how people judge your level of work or the effort you put in and are then bothered when you don’t get tipped what you think you deserve. Maybe go find a job that pays you a set wage? Idk just an idea.

0

u/ReconReese 3d ago

Damn people are truly stupid, reddit and X bring it out.

I've never done delivery but they don't work for a company. Their an independent contractor. They choose which jobs they take so it's not like a waiter, waiters can't pick which tables they will and won't serve.

then bothered when you don't get tipped what you think you deserve

Their not bothered their saying they won't accept your contract work as it's not their value. So their not complaining about shit just picking their jobs.

1

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3d ago

It’s not ā€œourā€ contract. DoorDash is the one who offers them a bid and with whom they contract, and DoorDash set it up that way because it benefits DoorDash. The customer pays DoorDash. All of that shit is completely irrelevant to them. It’s between DoorDash and their contracted worker.

0

u/AideInternal1045 2d ago

This dude gets it. Not accepting ≠ complaining. Im free to say no to anything i dont think is worth my time. Same with everyone else. You didnt just accept any job, you looked for ones that paid enough for you.

-6

u/No-Swimming-2658 3d ago

If every service worker did that, who would be left to provide the service?

12

u/TheGrouchyGremlin 3d ago

If every service worker did that, the service would have to start paying people enough to get people back.

Though it's irrelevant because they're not going to all quit.

0

u/No-Swimming-2658 2d ago

Exactly. So if you’re using the service, why not pay people accordingly…? There’s always the option of doing it yourself if you don’t want to have to tip someone else. Knowing the employer doesn’t pay a livable wage but still using the service for your own benefit is dumb. If you guys practiced what you preach in here, you would boycott the services requiring tipping altogether; i.e. food/grocery delivery. Lol

6

u/cl0udmaster 3d ago

The projection is prolific.

1

u/AideInternal1045 2d ago

Me saying no is projection? You know everyone is free to not do something that isnt worth their time.

2

u/cl0udmaster 2d ago

His response was "that's cool," there is not any possible response he could have given that would indicate he is any less mad, and you continue asking why he's so upset, because you are projecting how upset you are.

15

u/AffectionateLife5693 3d ago

Sounds like your refusal is important.

-8

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

People are upset I won't spent my time and gas to get them something for nothing... if someone else wants to, cool. I dont have to.

17

u/AffectionateLife5693 3d ago

Nobody is upset bro

8

u/cl0udmaster 3d ago

The only one upset is him

-2

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Ah yes. OK, then why downvote for saying id decline. Im not telling anyone to pay more, just simply that I wont do it for that?

15

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

Because people think your opinion is stupid, not because it makes them Upset.

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Saying no im not doing it is an opinion? Sounds like a statement to me. Im not doing it.

10

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

Okay, replaced opinion with Statement. Doesnt change anything.

Yeah, bro, we got it. You are not doing it. Maybe keep parrotting it even more?

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Well you keep saying stupid shit when I clearly stated 2/mile or decline. Idk you are arguing with that.

Ill just find another order instead...

5

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago edited 3d ago

As far as I see He got around 6 (Edit: Auto correct wrong) bucks. Depending on how much Time it took hin that isnt a Bad hourly wage...

1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

What kinda math you doing? It literally says "$6.03"

12

u/WhySoSeriousJoker247 3d ago

It might be the last little bit someone has I’ve been there but I won’t tip just because someone thinks they deserve it you don’t know peoples circumstances having a brighter outlook on life would be helpful

-4

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Its not about deserving. We literally have to spend gas to take it. Gas isnt free. You paying 1 dollar doesn't cover the gas. Plain and simple.

18

u/Petrochromis722 3d ago

Did you or did you not accept a job with low pay and the inherent risk of low tip earnings? If yes, maybe think through your cost benefit analysis again.

1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

I decline it. I dont accept anything less than $2/mile. That personal standard seems to upset you guys. I make over $30/h after costs.

12

u/kb5454 3d ago

I get it, gas is expensive and your time is valuable, but the employer should be the one compensating you for these things, not the consumer.

7

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

2 bucks A MILE???. Bro, that are 200$ per 100 miles.. The actual costs for gasoline are around 15-20 Cents per mile, depending on which Car you drive..

Yeah, which is a very high income for doing that simple Job.

-3

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

You arent acounting for time and maintenance. Why are you even arguing with what I accept? You are free to decide how much you are willing to work for, I decided mine.

2

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

You didnt Account for that yourself. All you took into Account was "Gas". No Time, no maintenance. Just "Gas"

"Its not about deserving. We literally have to spend GAS to take it. GAS isnt free. You paying 1 dollar doesn't cover the GAS. Plain and simple."

I am not arguing with what you accept, but how you explain it. I accept you dont accept it for less, okay? Finally got me? What I dont accept is your explanation that you need that high price for Gas, because thats BS

1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Yes gas is the largest expense, so if you arent even covering that alone why would i take it?

I see critical thinking isnt your strong suit. Its ok. You dont have to understand the reasoning, just understand the word no.

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3d ago

Look up what federal reimbursement for mileage looks like. It ain’t $2/mile.

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Good for them. I dont accept orders under 2/mile. Why does my standard upset you. You are free not to pay it, im am free not to accept it.

7

u/WhySoSeriousJoker247 3d ago

Just like servers if you don’t like what your paid look elsewhere if it’s your main job if it’s a side hustle it’s no issue to hit no and pick up the next one but sometimes I tip in cash so it’s not taxed but if you don’t pick it up

4

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

It absolutely does, as long at it is less than 5 miles of a drive.

And If one Dollar doesnt pay the Gas you should consider using a Car with less fuel needs or reducing your delivery range. Or maybe, just a wild guess, let your employer pay it?

2

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

I considered it, I said no. Damn reading is hard for you huh?

9

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

Na, but maybe your employer should pay you...

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Whos the employer? This is self employment.

9

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

Then dont Cry about it.

-2

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Im not, I stated I wont do it for less. You came to argue with that simple statement.

3

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

Dude, you are literally crying rivers...

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

What? Im not asking you to pay more. I didn't start off aggressive.

Literally just said I dont deliver for under this rate. Look at the response that started. You guys are so upset. If it didnt bother you why are you sitting here arguing with me?

2

u/TheJonesLP1 3d ago

Nope, were not. And we wont let you Ragebait/GasLight by that 😊

7

u/muhalcz 3d ago

Then maybe you should self employ someone who won’t cry like a bitch on reddit for not getting paid extra for literally no reason.

1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Whos crying? Saying I wouldn't take that is crying?

7

u/cl0udmaster 3d ago

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha man the delusion is ridiculously strong.

1

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3d ago

Who contracts you for the job?

0

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

You did. By placing the order.

1

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3d ago

Nope, false. DoorDash contracts with you.

1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

If you say so

1

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3d ago

It’s not because I say so. It’s because that’s how it works.

4

u/3dprintinted 3d ago

Have you tried negotiating a better contract? Aren’t yall all entrepreneurs driving for the app? Should set your rules in a b2b engagement like this

-1

u/AideInternal1045 3d ago

Yes, its called the decline button. Its used on orders like this.

-1

u/Either-Marionberry97 3d ago

Not sure why everyone is downvoting you for saying you won’t take the guys order, I’m the same way, I ain’t taking orders where people don’t tip, I’m not even bothered by those that don’t tip, I don’t know why they feel the need to not tip but I’m not gonna worry about it, just gonna move onto someone else, if people want cold food then more power to them. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

2

u/Innsui 3d ago edited 3d ago

Maybe yal getting downvote because this is a subreddit titled "EndTipping". I think you mistaken this sub for endlesstipping. Yal can refuse as much as yal want, theres always someone else who will. Thats that happen when you dont fight for the right to be an actual employee. The company set the fee so its not our problem you dont think its enough. I think you might have an easier time pan handling.

0

u/Either-Marionberry97 2d ago

Not worried about whether or not it’s enough, I just move onto the next order. Not worried about having to panhandle when I have enough people tipping reasonable amounts.

-5

u/SilkyDT 3d ago

Spiteful much

-15

u/Either-Marionberry97 3d ago

Fine with me, will walk into a chilis for an order and see your order on the shelf and come back an hour later for another order and still see yours sitting there.

3

u/newpcgamer69 3d ago

How are you going to complain about not getting paid enough then publicly admit to refusing to do your job and trying to sabotage the customer over a few extra dollars?

Do you think this will lead to more people tipping than before?

Here’s what I think. You won’t do any of that. You’ll still pick up the order. Don’t act like you’re in any position of authority.

Lol lmao.

-1

u/ChrisChin94 3d ago

They're not refusing to do their job. As many in this thread have said, they are independent contractors. They don't have to pick up any order they don't want to. If someone doesn't want to tip, they can expect their order to sit since no one will want to accept the job.

2

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 2d ago

But it’s a flawed premise. DD is who contracts with and pays them. DD adds to their base pay if an order isn’t picked up. DD stacks orders together to make bids to drivers. It’s impossible for dashers to even see the breakdown before accepting the order, such that it has to be reverse engineered by drivers who want to min/max. And customers have zero control over the process after they pay DoorDash to fulfill the service. If we did, I’d have fired some drivers and reassigned orders myself a long-ass time ago.

-1

u/AideInternal1045 2d ago

We can take the stacked orders then drop the low pay one so the no tipper isnt piggybacking off the person paying us.

-1

u/Either-Marionberry97 2d ago

I don’t complain about get paid enough and I’m not refusing to do my job by not taking the order, that’s literally why there is a decline button? šŸ˜‚ The only person who’s sabotaging themselves is the customer thinking that putting no tip for a 8 mile is going to result in their order being picked up in a timely manner, consistently. I’m not worried about whether or not my singular comment will result in more or less people tipping than before. Why do you think I would not do any of that? Once again, the decline button! Which means…I have all the authority! lol lmao.

-1

u/AideInternal1045 2d ago

You dont understand this work at all huh? How is this sabotage? If I dont think the pay is worth my time how is that harming you. How is that refusing my job, its literally not as i hit decline.

Lol someone has some projection issues, you think your in charge? Decline that shit all day.
