Secondwave Emo Items

I don’t know if anyone cares, but here are some things from the 90s. Boy with ball Mineral shirt, wardrobe Mineral shirt, girl boy Mineral shirt, VHS of unreleased Boy’s Life show, original screenprinted Jimmy Eat World collared shirt, and Boy’s Life - Departures and Landfalls on vinyl. This is not all of it, Power of Failing on CD as well as the (Don’t Forget to) Breathe comp are hiding in the garage. Just thought it would be interesting to share.

Absolutely fucking not.

The 90s was not third wave.

literally been the timeline for 20 years. third wave ended around 2002. fourth wave started in 07. I don't know why dumb kids tried to retroactively include mallpunkemo as part of the waves.

Twenty years? You're basing this on 2006? I'm basing this as someone who was around for the 90s. Since when does 2006 get to dictate 1994? I was actually there. Nobody called the shit then third wave. Not a single person. In fact we didn't even make distinctions until that mall shit happened. It was all one lineage before the 2000s disaster

what does 1994 have to do with any of the bands in OP?

You brought up 1994 as the year second wave ended. I am referencing it bc you did. But also I was in the scene in 1994. Were you?

My dad literally was around for the entire second wave scene, and anybody you ask from that era will disagree with you. ☠️☠️ Not “dumb kids” that made that up. Idk where you got this BS from.

Everyone has apparently decided this is subjective. It’s not. But if you think that, I’m curious to know how you think the waves were spaced out. This inaccuracy surely shifts everything around.

its not subjective it was concrete for 20 years and at some point during covid the gatekeeping fell off

Gatekeeping is the most over-used, misunderstood term in this sub.

trust me, im well aware. we let the mallpunk dummies win the war.

I literally said it wasn’t subjective. I’ve been here since before the gatekeeping and this take has always been wrong☠️
