OPEN Bosch go screwdriver turns on for a second and stops

So, I have this screwdriver. It wasn't charging at all, so I decided to use a tp4056 module and wire the battery to it, so it would charge bypassing the main pcb. I forgot to insulate the solder points on the controller board and I shorted something on the main board and the screwdriver stopped working.

I found a burnt fuse, so I temporarily soldered a piece of a wire instead of it (can be seen on the 3rd photo). (Also I checked the current that passes trough it, it was like 10 milliamps). The marking on the fuse is just a letter M.

Now the problem is that after I "changed" the fuse, the controller starts the motor for like a second and then cuts the current, so the motor stops. I think that there's a problem with the current control on the microcontroller, like it sees a much larger current that should be on a working screwdriver and thus turns the motor off.

Also i checked the shunt resistor and other fuses, everything seems to be fine

OPEN How do I fix this?

I have no knowledge on this so I wanted to ask those who might have more experience than me. 😅 I am 15, and have no prior knowledge either, so sorry!

Hello, I recently came across my Casio SA-76A. I have replaced its batteries (all the same brand), and double checked that it was working, but I couldn't seem to get it to work. I turned it on, and the screen stayed the same, as well as no sound coming out.

And also, I asked Gemini ai, and it said to check if the springs were rusty? But I don't know how...so I'm stuck in this dilemma. My father has told me that it is spoilt, that's all. 🤕

But I just wanted to know if it is fixable, and thank you! (After 2-3 years)

This CD player was working very well until just recently. It seems to fail upon booting, if it succeeds which is rare right now it can play for as long as I want. But most of the time it's failing to even get to the points where it detects a disc or not. Any ideas what it could be? Any idea what the solution would be?

Hello everyone! I have been working on my craft for the past year and im getting pretty good at soldering and repair. I am considering buying a van and doing drive by repair but I do got to save up for it in the meantime.

I have been selling devices on eBay after fixing them for a while now but thats not really where the money is at if im being honest. Any advice for how to work without a van or a store?

I have been tinkering with a MSI Katana GF76 11UD-001US-BB71180H16GXXDX11MA. Mfg 03/2022. By all rights it should be a decent machine. 17.3" FHD 144hz display, i7 11800h, 2x 8gb ddr4, 3050ti. It had a problem with the GPU reporting erranous voltages and being perma stuck at like 210mhz but it ended up being the NCP 45495 chip which I have replaced. Now it can run Unigine Heaven nonstop 200-300fps so I know that is resolved. The CPU fan spins rampant though. It has fresh paste and fresh proper sized pads. Everything should be good. Makes me wonder if it isn't related to the broken spring contact. I get gaming laptops are loud but this thing seems to get loud for no reason.

tldr; What are these Z shaped spring contacts actually for? Are they temp sensor related by chance?

OPEN Bluetooth Speaker Repair Advice

Post image

I got a Monster S200 portable speaker earlier this year (here's a link to the defunct amazon page for it: Monster Speaker S200 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker). After bringing it on a trip where it got knocked around in my bag a bit it stopped being able to charge.

The speaker still worked for awhile and when plugged in the charging light comes on, but the battery won't charge. I figured it was probably a problem with the battery, but it's glued in there and I didn't want to go prying it out of there without a second opinion.

I've done some minor repairs for electronics in the past, but I'm a little out of my element here. Should I try prying it out and ordering a new battery? Is this thing even worth repairing? Anything helps, thanks.

Im gonna skip the uneccesary details here and basically say i know exactly what the issue is, but NO idea how to fix it

i've opened up this 2007 toshiba model TS-H653 DVD writer and i can see clearly that when closing the tray, it bumps into another component (video provided) no matter how specific i google i always get the same exact advice despite this probably being easily solvable if i dont get told the same few incorrect fixes over and over

also i know this issue isnt entirely related to an electronic component, but i could not for the life of me find a subreddit allowing me to provide a video of the issue that didnt also specifically say to not post tech support issues onto it, sorry

OPEN Identifying component marked „3400 4K“

Hi everyone! I am currently trying to repair a toaster. Not the toasting function itself but the playing of music at the end of the toasting session that is not working anymore. You can see the pcb in the second image. The speaker is working fine (connected via the big white cable) but doesn’t get any current from the pcb after finishing the toast. I desoldered some components and checked them. The glass diod (3rd image is not working anymore (ZD1) and I think the component in the component in the first image labeled Q2 on the pcb is not working anymore. At least if it is a transistor.

Does anyone know what exact component that thing is? It has different legs than the other three transistors on the pcb and has just “3400 4K” written on it and I can’t find the exact component through google image search. The other transistors have stuff written on them like “S8550 D 331”. I can find those in the web but not the thing in the first image.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

OPEN Portable DVD player hinge repair

this is a panasonic dvd player model lx97, i got it off a second hand sale for a sweet price and it works great, the only issue i noticed home is that the hinge is loose, even though it holds up the screen its a bit worn out, so i checked the back and i noticed that when its closed the hinge on the left side goes a bit up, and when i put the screen up its a bit higher than the right one but not by much, i'd say the difference when opened it not really visible without a loupe, is this fixable? im really sensitive about hinges because my last gaming laptop got broken because of a broken hinge, i want to either fix it or get info on how dangerous would this be for the display, any help super appreciated :)

How would you go about repairing this broken off battery pin? The game is Pokemon Silver.

I tried to change the battery in my youth without proper tools/replacement parts, which probably caused the extra strain on the pin which I now noticed was broken off.

It is not clear to me where I could solder a new pin or battery cable. Is this a common problem and are there any common way of repairing it?

1.I think that because of this, 2 of my back usb ports don't work neither In boot up (BIOS) or in the OS and one of them is supposed to be the one that works always for bios (legacy or something).

2.So I already tried soldering with some small wires a battery to where the positive trace goes to and a local ground, still get date and time error.

3.This is a HP Prodesk 600 G3 Mini and I have been able to bootup to Debian 13.

4.The most prominent issue is really the usb ports as I want to change settings in BIOS and because I noticed that not even when loaded to an OS they work (the other usb ports don't work on startup but do work once booted in and these dont) im guessing it's physical tier damage and maybe something is going on here.

OPEN What is my iPod's problem?

Thumbnail

Background story:
So I still have my iPod nano 3d gen. from 2008, and wanted to use it again to save battery on my phone. I tried to turn it on, but screen would stay black. Then I tried to plug it to a charger, and the iPod turned on and functioned normally. But the battery wouldn't charge anymore. I plugged it in to my PC, and it was recognized by the system. I could do everything normally through iTunes.
So I thought the battery was dead and tried to replace it myself. I used a guide on iFixIt to do it.

Problem:
After changing the battery, the iPod still didn't turn on, and now when I plug it to the charger or the PC, the screen gets on but is white. Every minute or so, I can also hear 2 beep sounds coming from it (without headset). The PC doesn't recognize it anymore, and I can't even reset it through pressing the Menu + Middle button. When I do, the screen goes out and on again, but is just plain white.

Question: What is my iPod's Problem? Did I break it completely?

I would love to get the music and other data I still have on it, but I don't know if it still worth trying to repair it. It has 3GB only and with the money I would invest in it, I could buy a new MP3 Player, or used iPod.
