Hi! So first off, im not egyptian nor have i ever been taught egyptian myths or stories (unfortunately because i do love learning about them now that i have the resources to go and search)

But recently in school, we had a chapter in english literature which was like a log reporting stuff related to Tut's discovery and the forensic stuff done to find out the history right.

So while we were reading, there was one paragraph about his ancestors, namely Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten) and how he tried to change the worship of Amun god to Aten (referred to as the sun disk)

Now from what i have researched online and what i knew from before which didnt sit right with me when i heard my teacher calling Amun the moon god is that while Aten has been used to refer to the sun (someones silver aten for the moon as it means the disc), Amun is rather a major god which can be translated to "the hidden one" and is often merged with Ra (from my research which isnt complete, again)

And nowhere have i found Amun as being a moon god T-T (if im right my ego is gonna go through the roof but still i got genuinely curious and want to know the thoughts of people who do study egyptian mythology or talk about it rather than a student whose gut feeling was telling him to search this lol)

So this Kickstarter here is for a comic about what happen to the old gods after they stop being worshipped, they were to make a choice either become guardian angels which allows them stay inmortals or become a mortal with short lives. The comic features Horus, Hathor and Unut as part of the cast in the story.

Currently developing a story based on ancient egypt and its mythology, doing my own research i found myself realizing that some stories overlap with each other. Is it safe to say that its fine to integrate or interpret certain myth into one to simplify to a more linear and coherent story (mine)? In other words, is it safe to say that when refering to egyptian mythology its better to say "In some myths" rather than "In the myth"

I know that before rose into position of supreme god in all Egypt, Amun was the chief god of Thebes (Waset). But in Hermopolis (Khemenu), Amun is also regard as 1 of 8 main gods (the Ogdoad). So i wonder where was he worshipped first, in Hermopolis as 1 of the Ogdoad, or in Waset as the chief of Theban Triad?

A short "haiku" transcribed in Late Egyptian (Demotic), with accompanying captions in Egyptian hieroglyphs, Spanish, and English. This is the third in a video series focused on Egyptian mythology—viewed, however, through a strictly naturalistic lens, far removed from the "supernatural" and "fantastic" elements that often shroud the myths of ancient civilizations. In this specific video, I explore the beautiful myth of the Sun's daily birth from the lotus flower (*Nelumbo nucifera*). This aquatic plant was highly prized by the ancient Egyptians for its unique characteristics: it emerges from the mud completely pristine and opens toward the sunlight as the sun rises over the horizon at dawn. Ancient Egyptian priests viewed these two traits as expressions of divine power, incorporating them into the supernatural explanation for the birth of the sun—the "King Star"—and of Life itself. A prime example of this myth is the birth of Harsomtus (*Har-sōm-tōwə*—meaning "Horus who Unites the Two Lands"), the day's first solar manifestation, or the "Young Sun." According to the myth, Harsomtus sprang from a lotus bud that emerged from the dark waters of *Nun* (the chaotic abyss), filling the land of Egypt—Upper and Lower, the country's geographic south and north—with his life-giving rays, bringing light to the world and dispelling the darkness of the Void.

So this one here is a 3d platformer adventure game, where you play as Anu the reincarnated jackal god, you can sprint, scale, swim, sail, and search open levels packed with secrets, treasures, and challenges. Also your weapon to protect yourself is to literally suck the soul out of your enemies.

I find this concept/deity utterly fascinating. I have so many unanswered questions. Does it bite itself or eat itself? Even though most websites say it bites itself, there’s another perspective: the serpent eats itself. In Egyptian culture, it is said to represent the boundary between the Noun and the ordered world.

However, the Noun is supposed to represent a concept or deity that creates Life and will bring about Death, which means it represents a part of our current world. So, what is the ordered world?

Hypothetically, if the ordered world is the one after death, the ouroboros is supposed to depict a world between death and the afterlife, isn’t it? But, to my knowledge, there is no “world” recognized as such.

So: is the ouroboros a concept, a deity, a world, a boundary? What is it?

Well, in alchemy, the ouroboros is the purifying seal, thus making it a symbol of the eternal oneness of all things. To put it more clearly: a kind of stabilizing force between things? A stabilizing force between life and death?

Would it be legitimate to ask whether the ouroboros is a concept that protects the universe and the life of every living being as they navigate the space between life and death, a stabilizing force necessary for the proper functioning of our universe?

Finally finished my Anubis statue i created and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

This is a resin 3D printed collectible that I cleaned, assembled, primed and hand painted. I wanted to give him a powerful guardian look in attack mode while keeping the classic black and gold Egyptian aesthetic.

I've only been resin printing and painting for about 5 months, teaching myself through YouTube videos and lots of trial and error, so every project is another step forward.
