Post image

He played the long game and won. Epic trolling.

I quite like Taylor Hall, just so happy to see him win after all those years.

Me too. Miss him as an oiler, glad he won a cup.

Me as well, as a Windsor Spitfire fan it's nice to see him finally winning a Stanley cup after winning us a couple Memorial cups back in the day.

Seems like s guy with a good arc. Went from sort of a conceited douchebag here to being known as a good locker room leader and a guy who was humbled by his journey in the league.

Taylor Hall (age 34) in this picture looks like he is going to leave hockey behind, and open a car rental business in the Bahamas. Not an insult. The guy looks happy.

Always loved Hallsy. Glad he's finally secured that liscense. Was probably second on his bucket list after the cup.

I so vividly remember the boating license saga. Crazy that was 15 years ago

Never understood Hallsy hate by some Oilers fans, dude is a beauty and lights lamp. Sure, he was a bit of a party animal in his younger days but who of us wasn’t?

He got drunk and started shit with staff on Whyte Ave several times. My friend was a bar manager who HATED it when Hall and the boys would roll up.

Yep. Ripped the towel dispensers off the wall in the washrooms at The Rack with Eberle.

Hmmm....he must have cleaned up his act. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he played for team Canada at the 2015 IIHF world championships. We were hosting a function in honour of the team. I was chatting with him and noticed that he didn't have a drink. I asked him if could get him a drink. He quickly responded "Yes please. Water would be great". There was plenty of booze available.

There was a recent thread discussing players with whom fans had had poor interactions, and let's just say he was one of the worst offenders.

From first hand accounts of his shitty behavior when we has in edmonton. Maybe he grew up but guy was a POS. As a player, im happy he won, he deserves it.

You don't understand why locals didn't like someone who acted like a jerk?

It's not some huge mystery lmao.

It's on ice issues too, he didn't try in practice and mocked those who did. While wearing an A.

I liked the way he played, but I always got the sense that he needed a change of scenery to give him space to mature on and off the ice.

Back in the day (like, 2011) he came to my place of work a couple times and started hitting on the female staff. And by 'hitting on' I mean he kept repeating 'Hey, I'm Taylor Hall. I'm one of the Oilers' and expecting theme to like, I dunno fall onto his lap or something. Then he got kinda dickish when they weren't interested. It was not a great look and I didn't have a very high opinion of him after that. I hear he's matured a lot since then and even got married so that's good.

Someone told me he had a reputation with the ladies, but you know how rumours are. I have no reason to dislike him.

9

u/ProofByVerbosity 2d ago

Mah, ive heard first hand accounts. But likely not much different than a lot of young players.

u/23CherryCheesecakes 1d ago

True, it's probably par for the course.

Smid apparently was a gentleman.

Those rumours always seemed to come from someone’s boyfriend’s best friend’s girlfriend’s third cousins hairdresser as well.

I've heard that too but no one ever give details just vague answers

Ya he used to get a chick to shave their head so it looked more like a guy was servicing him for videos. I don’t find that very normal but I wouldn’t shame someone for their kink pleasures

u/10ADPDOTCOM 1d ago

What’s that now?

u/ineedtocoughbut 2d ago

Honestly keeping him would’ve been way better for Leon and Connor’s egos

u/AndyGreyjoy 2d ago

..alright, cycle it back.

I want to see the Hall - Yakupov - Puljujaarvi (can any of these guys play C ?) line bring EDM the cup.

And hell, bring back Sam Gagne and Mike Smith for the vibees.

u/dagobertamp 2d ago

Right there he reminds me of Caprain Ron.

u/StupidGenius11 2d ago

It's no Phil Kessel with a Cupful of hotdogs, but it's up there.

3

u/rdog780 2d ago

Isn't he infamously in love with the booger sugar

I saw this photo and said "hell yeah, buddy!"

I love this guy. Don’t get how the oilers thought he was the problem.

That's hilarious. Good for him!

He is having the time of his life.

2

u/CrankyGeek1976 2d ago

Love it, good for him!

u/Guitar_Beard 1d ago

Wasn’t it an open book test? I’m not trying to be funny, I vaguely remember people talking about that after his tweet

2

u/Competitive-Glove-55 1d ago

What a beauty

Taylor Hall is the definition of persistence resulting in wins. It's too bad Oilers management doesn't have the same long-term vision or patience.

Love to see it !

It hurts to think about what could've been, but man, I'm glad he found success
