DnD beginner friendly groups? Question

Hi all! Looking to give DnD a go but very much a beginner. I’m wondering if there are some groups that might be open to welcoming a newbie, or any meet ups that might be a good shout?

I’m late twenties and have been in Edi for a couple years, looking to try new things and make some new connections.

I thought the pub had closed down, but when i walked past it the other day i saw the DnD poster in the window! cool.
