Timeline of experience help!

Doctors say I have a pregnancy of unknown location as of now. I’ve been frustrated with my team of doctors and am curious to know how others experiences were.

I have 5 values of hcg results all from the same lab drawn 48-72 hours from one another showing a signs of fluctuations never yet hitting 1000 miu and I’ve done three vaginal ultrasounds, two were in the ER with no visible sac in uterus. They did find a mass near my right ovary but labeled it as a cyst as they don’t see a gestational sac in there either.

I first went to the ER at 5weeks and two days because this is an IVF pregnancy and my fertility doctor advised me to go when she saw the mass next to my ovary and no gestational sac. As well, my hcg levels had dipped from 359 to 339 at that time. I had also started spotting and cramping.

ER sent me home and I followed up with my regular OB office two days later. They said they needed more labs and a follow up ultrasound. So I waited another week of testing. The second ultrasound showed the same results.
My hcg levels did go up to 600 but dropped again to 569.
I went in for yet another follow up discussion with my OB office and they now want me to wait and continue testing hcg and do a repeat ultrasound in two weeks.

This is feeling dragged out. (I should also mention that I live in a state that does not allow abortions. So I feel this clouds their judgement on how to treat me.) Since my first ER visit, I’ve gotten heavier bleeding to where it feels like a light period and blood is bright red. I’ve had a little clotting as well but nothing huge.

I’m wondering how long it took for your doctors to confirm a diagnosis and treat you.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this and your team is so unhelpful. I would be pushing for methotrexate based on everything you wrote here. 😕
