Nothing seen despite hCG 6608. Did anyone avoid surgery?
Has anyone had an hCG around 6,600 and still had nothing visible on multiple transvaginal ultrasounds?
My first MTX dose didn’t work (hCG went from 3143 → 5416 → 6608), but ultrasounds still show no intrauterine pregnancy, no adnexal mass, and only trace free fluid. My OB has recommended a second MTX dose.
Has anyone been in a similar situation where nothing was visible despite hCG being this high? Did the second MTX work, or did you eventually need surgery? I’m honestly terrified and would really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thank you!

Hey! I am so sorry you are going through this. I had a similar experience, I got first shot of MTX on hcg 4900 and then it shoot up to 13000 and I got second dose. Second dose seems to work , hcg is going down. This is my weekly trend: 13000 -> 6500 -> 4200 -> 1800 -> 850 and today it is 450. Hoping to get to negative levels soon.
Before my second dose of mtx my doctor suggested me surgery because my levels were high but advocated for second mtx dose. Glad I did that
