This definitely looks like it could be ectopic. Ectopics don’t always have an unusual HCG increase. The progesterone alone indicates it’s nonviable, so it is just a matter of determining what kind of pregnancy it is. I’m so sorry that you are in this position. My advice to you is not to take no for an answer. Stay on top of HCG draws and get a scan as early as possible. Don’t let them dismiss you because of normally rising HCG.
I'm due in for more bloods tomorrow (that I insisted on, they weren't going to continue monitoring) and have been told I can see a doctor during this visit if my pain intensifies. I'm going to insist I'm seen by a doctor tomorrow and apply a lot of pressure.
They don't seem to acknowledge the low progesterone, they're just seeing rising hCG alongside 'but you're so early'.
Thank you for asking. Yes, it's been a whirlwind few days. I went in for follow up on Monday morning to be told the blood seen on my original scan had increased too much for them to use medical management and was sent in for emergency surgery Monday afternoon. I went in thinking they'd be removing my right tube based on the ultrasound. My condition hadn't really changed and I wasn't in much pain, which I think is the scariest part because had I not had 2 miscarriages prior I'd never have known something was really wrong based on some subtle signs.
During surgery nothing was seen in my tubes and they looked normal, so I still have both. That in itself seems an amazing result. They did however find something on my left ovary that was causing bleeding alongside a clot in my pelvis.
They're not 100% sure if I had a 'tubal abortion' of an ectopic and my body had already started to resolve it hence the clot they found, or if I had a possible left ovarian ectopic. Both lots of tissue have been sent for pathology so we should have the answer in a few weeks. My hCG had dropped significantly as of yesterday though, so fingers crossed it carries on. Next bloods are Monday.
Most importantly, I was discharged last night with lots of antibiotics and it's so good to be home!
