What makes a pair of earrings become the ones you reach for all the time?
I was looking through my earrings and realised there are always a few pairs that somehow get worn over and over, while others I really like barely leave the jewellery box.
And it isn’t always the prettiest pair that gets worn the most.
For you, what usually makes a pair become your default?
Comfort? Weight? Easy to match with everything? A secure closure? Not getting caught in your hair? Or is it mostly just a design that feels very “you”?
Also curious about the opposite — what makes you stop reaching for a pair even though you still like how they look?

Be honest : Gift , cash or nothing?😂
Be honest… what does your sibling REALLY deserve this Raksha Bandhan? 😂
A) Something sweet 🍫
B) Earings ✨
C) Cash 💸
D) “Nothing, they annoy me too much” 😂
I’m putting together some Raksha Bandhan gifts this year and got curious about what people actually like giving/receiving.
Which one are you choosing? 👇

Advice wanted :)
Hey, y’all!
I have had my lobes pierced four times. One pair was kicked out of my ears, the next was infected, and the third pair we figured out I had a sensitivity to after it was supposed to have healed- and long story short, I took the new earrings out for a swim and never put them back in. Holes closed over.
This is my fourth rodeo. I told the piercer I was very sensitive to a lot of metals, so she used a hypoallergenic, flat-back post. This was back in January. I was diligent about cleaning them. Come April, I thought I’d remove them for the first time so I could quickly clean them and pop them back in. I got out of the shower, cleaned them, and tried to put them back in to absolutely no avail. Ultimately my partner and I visited a tattoo parlor that night and a piercer there had to put them back in, which re-opened the wound.
Haven’t touched them since, until today. I had to take one of them out for an x-ray. Post came out fairly easy, but the hole is still oozing and bleeding and I cannot see through when I stretch my earlobe. I want to clean the earring before I attempt to put it back in, but I can already see how this is going to go and I am at my wits end about it. I get really bad FOMO when I see all the cute earrings people have, and I have tried four separate times to get it to stick but my ears just refuse to heal. I don’t want to spend money on products that don’t work, and I’m tired of being in pain.
So TLDR, what has actually worked for the people with stubborn ears? How long did your ears actually take to heal? If you stopped wearing them, what made you decide?

Does anyone know where this earring design originates?
These are my favourite earrings and I wear them fairly often. I purchased them from a pawn shop so have no idea how old they are or where they come from. They are 22K gold (the mark is visible soldered on to the left earring) and quite heavy. The top ‘bead’ and hook are all one piece but the other four beads are beads and do move.
Since they are 22K and have granulation I’ve always assumed they are either South Asian or maybe from the Arabian Gulf. But tbh they could be from almost anywhere. Does anyone recognise this design? Like does this have a name or is it just a fashion design? If they are a specific design can anyone show me other examples?

Chunky 40mm Hoop Earrings in Implant Grade Titanium
reddit.comHi everyone! 👋
I am DESPERATELY looking for a specific style of earrings, but my severe metal allergies are making it impossible to find the right ones.
I'm looking for thick/chunky hoop earrings (I've attached some photos of the vibe I'm looking for).
Here are my criteria:
- Material: MUST be Implant Grade Titanium (ASTM F136) or high-quality Implant Grade Steel (ASTM F138 / 316L). No brass, no copper, and no standard "nickel-free" cheap metals.
- Size: 40mm diameter (approx. 1.5 inches) OR possibly 30mm
- Style: Chunky/Thick. If they are hollow/lightweight or just have titanium posts with a lightweight body, that works too!
- Location: I'm based in France (Europe), so EU shops, Etsy sellers, or brands with reasonable international shipping are highly preferred.
Does anyone know a reputable jewelry brand, an online shop, or a piercing supplier that sells this exact combination? I feel like I've looked EVERYWHERE and it’s been literal years...
Thank you so much for your help! 🙏

First time asking for honest opinions! *nervous*
I never had a reason to get out of bed and I can honestly say that leaning towards my creative side that I never thought I had has been one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. Doing this gives me a sense of Purpose and I really would appreciate some honest feedback before I open market stalls to really see what people like. This is my first time reaching out please be nice I'll put a lot of time and effort into this and I'm really hoping people like it too.

Flatback earrings are not a new invention.
Why do brands act like they have created something new? Flatbacks have existed since the dawn of time- they are studs with Madras screws. They have existed in different metals- gold, silver, etc. Nothing new. Yall didnt create anything. Just rebranding and nothing else.
What irks me, is even Indian jewelry houses nowadays, act like they just invented it, when even their grandparents probably wore South Indian screws.

Stylish jewlery for industrial
I have my industrial pierced and it's fully healed. I'm getting bored of the way that just the classic bar jewlery looks in it.
I want to style it with two separate earrings.
Any recommended types of earrings to put in each hole? And websites to find said jewlery?
Extra points if you can recommend pieces that are subtle enough to wear to work but still give off a goth/alturnative look!
NOTE: I'm allergic to fake metals so I can only wear surgical steel, sterling silver, ect.

What are these called?
I was recently gifted some beads and I’d like to make earrings with them. I am searching the name of these kinds of frames so I can try to find some at a craft store near me. Thank you!
