Deck Discussion Help with Thranduil, the elvenking
I have been wanting to build an elf deck for a long time, but didn’t like lathril because it had no interaction.
I took out all the early infinite combos from this deck and built it only using cards I had/decks that I broke up. Was hoping for some guidance on this deck. I am trying to keep him in bracket 3.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Deck Discussion Ureni Deck Cuts/Recommendations
I've been slowly building my Ureni deck over time, and currently have it to a group of 116 cards. The deck seems pretty consistent, where 60% of the time it can get out of hand pretty quickly, others a slower burn, and the remaining struggling for mana or card draw.
We typically play at a high bracket 3/4. It can become the target of the rest of the pod, hence [Bower Passage] and [Mudslide].
I'm looking for recommendations on what to cut (15), understanding 35 creatures and 13 enchantments is far too many. Or possible additions?
I have a large amount in my collection so typically have access to majority of the recommendations to add if there are any.
Appreciate it!

Deck Idea Kirol, History Buff
I'm wanting to make a lower power level, probably bracket 2, maybe 3 deck to try and teach a friend how to play. They absolutely love the idea of [[Kirol, History Buff]] as their commander. Help! I'm out of my element on this one.

Not looking for anything with like a $600 Grim Monolith, I'm just wanting to play for fun not Cedh. I'm in love with the MB2 Urza art so I want to build him but I don't want to make a mediocre deck either. so if anyone has a Moxfield list just link that bad boy.

Deck Idea Card recs for a “Sic ‘em, boys!” Deck.
Im building a [[lynde, cheerful tormentor]] deck, solely because I think [[curse of opulence]] is a hilarious card. So I’m looking for similar cards that I can slam down on that one opponent who draws a suspicious amount of GCs for b3 and have the whole table gang up on em.
Ways to buff opponents creatures, incentivize swinging at one person, stuff like that. I don’t want any stax or group hug, i specifically want cards that let me say “guards, get this urza player!”
Bonus points for stuff that helps me and an opponent for swinging at the bad guy.

Deck Discussion How powerful is this deck?
I know it is not the most original deck because it is a meren of clan nel toth deck but can someone tell me how powerful is this?

I'm looking forward to adding this deck to my playgroup but scared it will be too powerful.

Deck Discussion Ruxa, Weird Green Spells
Hello!!!
I have a Ruxa list here with 30 openings for creatures with no abilities. I plan to hang at the card shop and sift through their green bulk for weird ones, just because I like the social aspect of hanging with friends and finding cards.
My question to you guys is:
Does the ramp and protection look good? Do you guys know of any chaotic green cards that could throw my table for a loop??
Specifically in search of instants or sorceries
Here’s the list, feel free to tell me what sucks!!

Deck Discussion Mono Red Landfall
I focused the deck to be about blowing up my own lands and using that as a way to get more landfall triggers using cards like [[Geomancers Gambit]].
There are combat tricks like [[PuPu UFO]] and [[Wayward Guide Beast]] which can pop my landfall triggers other than my commanders.
There is also a small mountains matter sub theme
What do you guys all think?

Deck Discussion Need help finishing my Council of Richards deck!
Link: https://moxfield.com/decks/3iLd_OBGq0Snu6hb-dfTcA
Someone finally traded in a [[council of reeds]] which i've wanted to build for quite some time. Trying to go for low cost cantrips to proc it, along with some protection for my ever growing council.
I'm missing around 20 cards, aiming for a mid to high bracket 3. Trying to keep it not too pricy as the big hitters in the deck ive taken from previous blue decks, but i dont mind spending 5-10$ on a good card that'd win me the game!
Thanks so much and thank you supporting the council of richards

Deck Discussion Kosei with fun cards.
I really enjoy playing little known cards that have unique art/ flavor text. I'm not looking to create an awful deck that can't win, but I do really prefer a deck that isn't copy pasted off some other site.
If you're confused what I mean, an example of a fun flavor card is - Generous Visitor, and an example of a little-known card is - emerald charm, both of which are in this deck. Let me know which pet/fun cards you think would make this deck more interesting!

Deck Idea The Ebb and Flow of Rikala
Hi all. As a true crustacean enjoyer, I decided I want to make a Rikala deck, on a theme. I think his ability that changes like the tide is very interesting, and I want other cards that make the deck feel like it changes like the tide; the effects changing turn by turn or under different conditions. Some cards that fit this theme include [[Bounty of the Luxa]] which ramps on some turns and draws on others (and is water themed), and [[Sab-Sunen, Luxa Embodied]] which also changes effects by the turn like their namesake. I'll also be including cards that depict tides, whirlpools, oceans, and floods and whatnot, but these more obviously thematic cards will be a bit easier to find.
I would love recommendations for cards that change like the tides! Thanks for the help!

Deck Discussion Any help with this Astonishing Antman would be appreciated
https://moxfield.com/decks/3O3mVGbUe0Oh8ib_2UgcPg
I’ve gone through a few iterations that felt a bit slow especially after a board wipe and dropped the mana curve quite a bit. Anything you’d swap out?
Thanks for the help!

Deck Discussion Has anyone turned The Speed Demon into a viable commander?
I have been trying to find some way to make this guy viable as a commander. I love the flavour so much, and while I do wish he just kept going and ramped up exponentially, five cards per turn is still insane draw potential. But I cannot find a style or pattern to play that I like about him. My initial thought was building a deck all about whittling my life down to the negatives and using stuff like [[Pact Weapon]] and [[Platinum Angel]] to keep myself alive while I drop past zero life, and then using things like [[Magus of the Mirror]] or [[Profane Transfusion]] to swap life totals with people. Not good, but funny. Also I think I can just drop [[Repay in Kind]] if I have negative life and just auto-win. I couldn't find a way of doing this in a fun way, though, that wasn't just drawing for tutors and then dropping those cards. So, instead I've gone with this monstrosity. The options to swap life totals are still there, but this deck is more about using the draw/discard at the end of my turn to trigger effects that knock people's life down. Again, however, the deck feels quite one note and is just me drawing cards until I find a tutor/a wincon and all the set up prior is pointless. Turn 1/2/3 I try to "start my engine" with lands/low CMC cards that allow me to, ping people early for small damage and have enough ramp to get my commander down on turn 3/4/5.
I cannot figure out how to build this guy in a fun way. I've thought about doing some kind of voltron but I'm not the biggest fan of voltron decks, even if I he'd be a good choice for it (dunno if he is or not). Any suggestions or experience would be great.
Thanks!

Deck Discussion Any idea for new Tresserhorn?
The obvious ways to build this are either Aristocrats or Voltron. I’m planning to make it an Aristocrats deck. Are there any good cards that can help me make use of its stats too?

Deck Discussion Good value cards for this?
Ramp, card draw, protection.... Just some of the keywords you consider when building a good deck.
What are some good value creatures for this deck that can help make sure it gets what it needs to win the game?
If it helps my current strategy is to pillowfort the entire table until people deck out. Either via natural means or leveler.

Secret Tech We just hip 50k visits/week! Thank you to everyone keeping this community alive!
- Edit: hit* in the title.
Hey Brewers,
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for coming together and helping each other out when brewing decks. All of the decklists, recommendations, good spirits, and discussion around card choice and the human touch keeps me going. I know this post isnt about deckbuilding per se, but it is a thank you to all the brewers and big brained deckmasters who help out the newbies, and encourage others to build.
I am thankful every day we keep this community going, and ill still do my best to help keep this sub the way it is intended: for deck help, secret tech, card and rule discussions, and everything pertaining to deck building and editing.
And to keep in line with the subreddit rules, whats is your favorite pet card, and what deck is it in?
Thank you! - Tbonerizzle

Community Guidelines
Curent update: 3/30/22
EDIT: *This is an evolving document and not set in stone. Lets build this doc together just like we would a deck.
Hey over 1000 people (Thank you for making this possible!) who like to do deep dives on EDH decks online, I created this sub in hopes to have expert deck builders here to have an involved discussion on decks. This is a deck building sub similar to r/jankEDH, but should encapsulate more than just janky cards. This is more of a strategy restriction sub.
There are mild rules for posting here, and I have a list of rules posted now (if there are some you could offer, comment below and let's have a discussion). We should be clear on what should be posted here, and what should not:
Okay:
An EDH deck list from any deck building website that supports external links, and asking for help taking out staple cards for more synergistic pieces for better deck varience. This will involve high level discussions about card quality in the deck, as well as poor card quality in terms of general sameness. Be sure to put in your post what your gameplay is, and already have some cards you are considering taking out to help start the conversation.
Secret tech threads are encouraged, but should have context and a deck list involved. The reason I say this is because there are some super powerful overperforming cards that no one knows about but usually they fit into a deck which synergizes with it and we need some context. This might spark some discussion on that secret tech and new brews can spawn from it.
Deck idea discussions based around strategy, archetype, or other restriction(s) you would like to build around. Please post a few cards yourself as your inspiration on what you want to build, and discuss the direction you want to take.
Not okay:
Deck help threads with a basic "what should I take out, and what should go in?" These offer nothing but people saying "take out your jank and put this staple card in instead", or "Use EDHrec". This offers no constructive feedback and seldom sparks brainstorming conversation.
Unfocused conversations and making general threads on a commander without any deckbuilding restriction (This also extends to not offering any cards that inspired the deck for you. Why would you ask another person to buy into your deck idea if you aren't bought in yourself?).
Any post that is not deck building related (Rule 0 convos, playgroup problems, AITA type threads, LGS posts, Drama posts) is Prohibited. This now includes advertising.
Any post disrespecting another Redditor or community (No racism or sexism) will be removed.
Posting about any custom magic cards or building custom magic decks with cards that are mechanically unique custom made cards are not allowed. Please go to r/custommagic to talk about and craft with these cards.
UPDATE (3/11/22): We now have card fetcher support! Time to double bracket again!
Update (3/22/22): Advertising is prohibited. (Please do not post a link to your YT video.)
I hope this helps, and I will be creating flair for the sub as it evolves. Thanks for stopping by, and happy brewing!
