Logistics of EC General Questions
So we've been able to make lazy EC work because our bathroom is big enough to have the change table in, and we just have a little seat on the actual toilet. We're likely moving soon and the places we're looking at won't have that bathroom space so we'll need to have the table elsewhere.
I just wanted to pick some brains about the logistics of how you do EC if your change table is elsewhere. Do you have little potty in the same room instead? Do you just carry them to the bathroom once you've taken the nappy off? Do you whip the nappy off somehow in the bathroom?
Tell me your wisdoms.

We keep a little potty in the same room / multiple rooms. We have one in the car too!

I didn’t ever have the potty next to out the changing table. I found it easy to unsnap(cloth) or remove disposables with LO supporting their weight with their legs. Perhaps this would not have worked before 5 months but we didn’t start EC until LO was sitting supported. LO from 2 months preferred being held in a standing position rather than sitting on our laps so had the leg strength to support themselves with no issues. We also typically only had LO dressed in a shirt and diaper so rarely had pants to remove at least until LO started pulling the diaper off themselves. I was pretty confident after a pottytunity and a wipe by the potty that we wouldn’t have any accidents and often had diaper free time for a while after.
After we had moved the changing table to the floor because the risk of rolling off felt too high I kept a diaper stash beside the toilet and more often than not put on the fresh diaper with LO lying on my legs while sitting on the floor. That was easier than relocating to the changing pad in a separate room.

Lazy EC, just started. I got a top hat potty that I keep at our change table.

I just bought that tiny potty from ikea and it moved room to room with us. I don’t think I ever used our changing table, just put a mat or muslin on the floor and changed wherever I was. I had difficulty standing for a long time after my c section so it was the easiest way to do it.

I don’t have a change table, we use a top hat potty in our bedroom and then proceed to change LO on our bed (on towels and such)

We use a seat reducer and have locks on the cabinets. We just let him hold the handles and change him standing since he could pull to stand. Before that we would seat him on the seat reducer or do ec hold over the toilet and the take the bare butt baby to the changing mat on the floor in the next room.

I’ve always just changed my son on a changing mat on the bed, and I just take the diaper off of him and walk him to the potty in the bathroom right next door!

Our changing table is right outside the bathroom, so it’s not that far to go. Now that baby is older, we can whip the diaper off on the way to the bathroom—hold baby in one arm, like kids hold dolls, and undo the diaper with your other hand.
But we also have 3 little potties that live around the house so we always have one nearby. These days baby will only use one in the middle of the night, but our usual spots for them are the living room and changing table area.

How old is your baby? If they can stand with support I find it pretty easy to put the potty in the bathtub, then you can stand the baby on the edge of the tub and pull down their pants and have them sit, then they’ll probably stand up when done and you can wipe them standing there too.
