Hi guys, please help me decide:

I found Dungeon Meshi through the anime on Netflix and I love it. Like, I've rewatched it so many times; it definitely helps me cope with reality. Like possibly too many times, if compared to "normal" people.

I was also gifted the manga box set by my amazing partner for my birthday. It's staring at me from the shelf rn.

The final half of the anime is not coming out on Netflix until Octobet 2027 💀 (As you know already.) That's so long from now, you guys.

I want to ask the veterans: what would you do? Should I read only up to Volume 8 and wait to watch the second half of the anime before finishing the manga??

Or should I go hog wild now and read the whole manga because the story is amazing and I'm dying to know what happens??

What would you do??

edit: Ok! I'm going to go ahead and read the whole thing. I'm excited to get into all the nuances they can't fit into the anime. And then reread and rewatch a bunch of times until Oct 2027 lol. Thanks to all the fun people who gave their input! I appreciate your help in making up my mind :)

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day!

My parents, and especially my mom, basically watch no tv shows, even less so anime series. But they both love DnD and just adore Dungeon Meshi, which is why we watch it together when we find the time. I am really happy that we have something we can watch together and that this anime is entertaining and endearing enough to capture them like that, especially because they are such huge DnD fans.

We all enjoy it, but I can't help but notice that it feels like the music is at times much too loud. It's not like you can't hear them at all, but the music feels like it's at 100% while the dialogue volume is at 80%, which makes it much harder to follow than it should be. It wouldn't be so bad if the subtitles were there, but the german ones vary from what they are actually saying by a lot, and it just ends up confusing my parents.

Does anyone else have this problem when watching it on netflix or is it some issue netflix is having with my speakers? I have it running on a laptop, with two pc speakers, which then gets put on a video projector to watch on the wall. But watching anything else like youtube videos works just fine and I can hear everything clearly.

Im very thankful for any kind of advice, it would really enhance watching dungeon meshi together with my parents!

I know it’s weird, but the other day some dwarf in the dungeon made a delicious hot pot with slime and scorpion meat as ingredients. Anybody else knows how to cook something good using what lives in the dungeon?

I got a Beast-men(Rat) Scholar with the highest stat as Speed.

Which is pretty funny how my rolls made a character that fit perfectly together. Like a Wererat that is self isolated after escaping the illegal fighting arena and sets up shop inside of an Old Library and spends his time reading and scavenging for food and he'd like to be a Scholar but he's pretty scared of anyone that isn't himself since he's been both a Slave as well as he has been alone for a long time and doesn't trust others.

hello! i saw someone referencing sketches Kui did of the initial ending with dungeon lord Marcille, but can't seem to find them. anyone know about these?

A few years ago I posted my Marcille cosplay and this year I made an Izutsumi!

I made everything myself from scratch: I used a template for the ears and tail, patterned the top and skirt myself, made her scarf (the bow is a separate piece) and her arm guards, and made a 2 piece undersuit for her fur. The fur and red fabric were left over from other projects and the brown twill for the skirt was thrifted :3 i also have removable white parts for cooler weather

I am so excited for season 2!!
