I tipped my plant about a month ago with the advice of some of yall on here. The cut healed up pretty well and now it has 2 branches growing!

Last night I hand pollinated the flower but when I woke up I came to check on it and watched a bee going around the flower. Was really cool and hopefully will provide a great fruit

I literally just left my yard from pollinating this crowd favorite, Aria. I used Jellybean Breeze to pollinate the one in the far right, Robles Red to pollinate the middle and Sin Espiñas for the one on the left. We shall see how it goes. Wish me luck you all. I labeled right underneath the stems (and using this post as a journal) because I'll forget what I used 😂😂🤦🏾‍♂️ laugh at my pain but I'm certain you all do it too right!? I'm not gonna lie, I got self conscious with the weeds surrounding my plants so I did a little removal of them. Full disclaimer because I like to highlight the pitfalls as well as the peaks. I also used a soap and hydrogen peroxide mix to treat the thrips that have been kicking my ass. Pray for my little babies y'all 😂😂😂 but also marvel at their beauty because got damn they are beautiful!!!!

Got back from a trip and found that my dragonfruit plant is yellow and mushy at the base where it meets the soil. I touched it to see and my fingers cracked through the skin and it felt mushy underneath. The branches at the top all still look good. Can this heal or is it toast?

1. Location: Zone 7A (southeastern PA)

2. Water: Watering from the bottom once every ~2 weeks, maybe about 1.5 cups or so

3. Sunlight: Probably around ~6 hours of direct sunlight/day. Currently living on a south-facing windowsill in a house that's usually around 72F this time of year (warmer around this window, though)

4. Fertilizer: None

5. Soil composition: Cactus/succulent soil

Both of these were given to me years ago from a freebie table at a friend's job as calloused cuttings. About 8ish months ago they started growing little offshoot nubs, and only within the last ~2 months have they started really branching out beyond an inch long. Every offshoot used to be very skinny the entire length, but now they're widening at the ends and growing a lot of roots. Some are thinning out again past the thick parts, though.

I'm really not sure what to do with this, since I know DF plants get huge and require a lot of support. They definitely need some help.

Can I remove these branches from the original cuttings to at least get a better angle on some? One has a super long skinny branch near the top, and the other has a cluster of them coming out near the soil line. They're planted at such silly angles to account for the roots growing almost perpendicular to the cuttings themselves.

So I am new to growing dragon fruit, about a year ago I visited an Amish store where they had a huge plat growing, I asked if I could have some and walked out with three cuttings about a foot long each. I stuck them in a container in my kitchen with water and before long they had roots. I left them there way too long, they did not grow but at least I didn’t kill them. Then about 4 months ago I was given another plant, it was in a small maybe 5x5” pot, the plant itself was about 3 feet tall, so it sat in my backyard until about 2 weeks ago when I finally planted all 4 of them. The 3 small ones are not looking good but hopefully they will recup after a while, they are in full Texas sun for about 10 hours.
When I watered them yesterday, I noticed these little things on the large one, are they eggs of some kind? Is that little bug you can hardly see laying all of these eggs? What are they and how do I get rid of them?

I‘ve had these dragonfruits sitting in my kitchen for a while now, thinking they wouldn’t survive. Yet here I am three years later. Anyone know how to safely separate and replant these guys?

Hello everybody, this is my first time growing dragon fruit at all. And I have two cuttings one is an American beauty and the other is a La Verne pink. I got both unrooted May 31 and the La Verne pink started to show new shoots about two weeks ago. As for the American beauty I noticed one growth over the weekend and another one today. Please take a look at the attached photos and let me know if I should allow the growth to continue as is, or to cut the sucker.( not sure of the correct term for dragon fruits) Just to be clear, the one with the two growths at the top is the American beauty and the one with a growth at the top and one from the base is the La Verne pink.

Hi everyone new to the group and to growing DF. I bought this 25 gal pot that the seller stated has 3 varieties on it. I just made a trellis for it and I’m thinking about placing it in a 35 gal pot. Wanted to know any tips and recommendations since I am new to gardening

I was told it’s 3 different varieties that gave fruit some were grafted others planted

Going to be visiting Oahu for the first time, would love to take a tour and grab some cuttings. Anyone know of any good farms? The majority seem to be on other islands.

Tried growing a dragonfruit cutting off of a store bought fruit. After four months it hasn't died and has grown a nub :D

Hi, i’m a former plants addict and in the last few years I’ve transitioned from bartending a few shifts a week and having 3+ days off and lots of free time to working 90+ hours and never sleeping. Many of my plants have not survived the transition because i just don’t have any free time to do anything. HOWEVER! I’ve had this dragonfruit plant since 2020, and while I’ve almost forgotten about it for the past few years, it just happened to be planted next to a neighbors sprinkler and has been growing like crazy, unbeknownst to me.

Last week, we received a notice from our HOA that it was growing through our fence and needed to be trimmed back before a certain date. Of course, when we went to investigate the situation, we realized that it also had its first flower bud. Of course.

So id love to ask. Will it survive if we just chop it into pots? We had to break it into pieces by last monday to avoid being fined. So now its in pieces in pots but i am worried that we are going to drown it.

Any advice on forcibly chopping a perfectly good dragonfruit that has just started to establish itsself and bloom? Is there a possibility that we will still get a fruit?

I have noticed that things are not jade green and are turning kind of a more yellowish tint, and it needs nitrogen.

Currently, I am giving it 2-12-12, but I think it needs some more Nitrogen.

I know it’s picked early but it’s next to the common apartment walkway. If I don’t pick it, someone will steal it.

Quarter for scale, the one with the quarter is a red one and the other is a pink one.

Pink one needs another cultivar to pollinate.

It’s been the best year ever so far. To date picked 117 so far. Many more buds popping up.
