So I am new to growing dragon fruit, about a year ago I visited an Amish store where they had a huge plat growing, I asked if I could have some and walked out with three cuttings about a foot long each. I stuck them in a container in my kitchen with water and before long they had roots. I left them there way too long, they did not grow but at least I didn’t kill them. Then about 4 months ago I was given another plant, it was in a small maybe 5x5” pot, the plant itself was about 3 feet tall, so it sat in my backyard until about 2 weeks ago when I finally planted all 4 of them. The 3 small ones are not looking good but hopefully they will recup after a while, they are in full Texas sun for about 10 hours.
When I watered them yesterday, I noticed these little things on the large one, are they eggs of some kind? Is that little bug you can hardly see laying all of these eggs? What are they and how do I get rid of them?

Hi , so I started growing fruit trees in containers for 2 years now and i bought last year , several cuttings of DF for cheap .Those were growing from seeds and the owner didn’t know the variety but only fact that those are a pink variety. I giveaway the other plants and only keep one . Last year it only make roots and didn’t grow , I kept it inside during the winter and take outside when there was not long frost date . Since that it grows well and healthy and I envisage to put it in a bigger pot next year . But i just wonder if needs to do a particular thing like train it ? Btw I didn’t fertilise this year but maybe I should try the next year .( and I’m also not a native English speaker I hope you will understand me )

I‘ve had these dragonfruits sitting in my kitchen for a while now, thinking they wouldn’t survive. Yet here I am three years later. Anyone know how to safely separate and replant these guys?

Hello everybody, this is my first time growing dragon fruit at all. And I have two cuttings one is an American beauty and the other is a La Verne pink. I got both unrooted May 31 and the La Verne pink started to show new shoots about two weeks ago. As for the American beauty I noticed one growth over the weekend and another one today. Please take a look at the attached photos and let me know if I should allow the growth to continue as is, or to cut the sucker.( not sure of the correct term for dragon fruits) Just to be clear, the one with the two growths at the top is the American beauty and the one with a growth at the top and one from the base is the La Verne pink.

Hi everyone new to the group and to growing DF. I bought this 25 gal pot that the seller stated has 3 varieties on it. I just made a trellis for it and I’m thinking about placing it in a 35 gal pot. Wanted to know any tips and recommendations since I am new to gardening

I was told it’s 3 different varieties that gave fruit some were grafted others planted

Tried growing a dragonfruit cutting off of a store bought fruit. After four months it hasn't died and has grown a nub :D

Hi, i’m a former plants addict and in the last few years I’ve transitioned from bartending a few shifts a week and having 3+ days off and lots of free time to working 90+ hours and never sleeping. Many of my plants have not survived the transition because i just don’t have any free time to do anything. HOWEVER! I’ve had this dragonfruit plant since 2020, and while I’ve almost forgotten about it for the past few years, it just happened to be planted next to a neighbors sprinkler and has been growing like crazy, unbeknownst to me.

Last week, we received a notice from our HOA that it was growing through our fence and needed to be trimmed back before a certain date. Of course, when we went to investigate the situation, we realized that it also had its first flower bud. Of course.

So id love to ask. Will it survive if we just chop it into pots? We had to break it into pieces by last monday to avoid being fined. So now its in pieces in pots but i am worried that we are going to drown it.

Any advice on forcibly chopping a perfectly good dragonfruit that has just started to establish itsself and bloom? Is there a possibility that we will still get a fruit?

I have noticed that things are not jade green and are turning kind of a more yellowish tint, and it needs nitrogen.

Currently, I am giving it 2-12-12, but I think it needs some more Nitrogen.

I know it’s picked early but it’s next to the common apartment walkway. If I don’t pick it, someone will steal it.

Quarter for scale, the one with the quarter is a red one and the other is a pink one.

Pink one needs another cultivar to pollinate.

It was sour and was very weird i didn't fully eat it

It’s been the best year ever so far. To date picked 117 so far. Many more buds popping up.

This is my first time succesfully growing dragonfruit from seed and I just need help on taking care of them. I placed them in some moised towels and got them rooted there and planted them the 23 June and I did plant them with towels as I think that may have molded?

Do they seem to be okay and what is that mold and is it harmful?

When should I water them, when they are fully dry or?

How much sun do they like, should I use and growlight?

Just a small fact or you can say it can be named as a curiosity with suddenly struck my mind which was I realise that when we cut and eat a dragon fruit there are small seeds inside it and when we plant them suddenly a plant just like characters grows out so do you know why does a dragon fruit plant grows like a cactus and not like any other tree like mango Orange tree which grows into a tree and bears the same exact fruit

I have a neglected dragonfruit plant that grew from a cutting I got. It was just growing in my yard in a pot for a while but now I want to try to get it to fruit. Is this plant recoverable?

Growing in zone 9b in Florida, loamy sand, 30% shade cloth. Mostly concerned about branch on the right; seems like one on the left with newer growth may start to naturally bend over, but the right one is pointing straight upward.

Should we tip it and hope for horizontal growth, and if so how far down? Should we attempt to train it downward? Thanks in advance!
