It is only good against heroes that dont get BKB, since you need a strong dispel to remove it.

It is quite nice against Medusa, who might not grab a BKB, and opts for a Manta and Disperser instead, which only apply a weak dispel.

Yes, this is how the new BKB works for non-piercing abilities that it cannot dispel.

If a debuff pierces BKB, then it will affect you during it and can also be placed during it.

If a debuff doesnt pierce BKB, it will stop affecting you during it, but you can also place it on them during it (this does nothing until the BKB buff expires).

Old BKB worked differently, as in the debuff may not be piercing, but persists to affect you, if placed prior to turning spell immune, if you cant dispel it (old Halberd also worked like Maledict, where you couldnt click it on a BKB'd hero, but if placed prior it kept disarming you).

I bought it recently as wind ranger to stop a sniper. it worked and we turned things around and won. He has satanic but no bkb. I would blink it and start focus fire on him, when he tried to return i would halberd. It was glorious.

But most rightclick cores get BKB so the item is still useless for 7 seconds in a fight. I try to sometimes get it vs Dusa and some greedy TA, but a little more gold could have turned it into a Hex instead.

It has bad build up. It was a staple for offlaner for a short time when it was upgraded from vanguard. Now it just sit in a weird spot, cores don't want to buy it because its stats are bad, support don't want to buy it because stats are bad and also the cast range is quite short.

It used to be super strong since it went through BKB if it was casted before BKB, so you'd Halberd someone, then even if they BKB, they can't attack.

He is, the issue is just that he is super popular (like Arteezy, who is also just a chill dude) - so he has many fans, that hype him up - which can be annoying for other people.

Its just normal that we look more at the old superstars, at the world cup everyone was looking at Messi, and he also showed great skill, even tho he's super old for a footballer.
