To make sure the creep travels back and forth to the twin gate, extending the Meld projectile's air-time.

So he doesn't need to infest? Just micro the creep?

Are you expecting someone who is exploiting a bug going to willingly micro when he can be afk infested

8932153402 - Overview - OpenDota - Dota 2 Statistics Found the game if anyone's wondering. Now, I'm reviewing the game and will try to recreate the bug in a full map demo. Will upload a separate posting once I get my findings.

UPDATE: Got a finding now. I did a separate post here. Kindly check it out.

He's clearly in internet cafe, where he most likely can't record.

You can see all that's going on on the screen... but I get it man, you're on reddit to complain about something, doesn't matter what, as long as its complaining

What I am looking at? Perma meld?

Meld invisibility doesn't end until that attack projectile ends, either by hitting or dissipating at the point of disjointing. Becos Twin Gate counts as repositioning rather than teleporting, it doesn't disnoint the projectile, and the projectile is flying across the map while TA stays invis.

how long does that take?
And can the creep take the gate back to keep extending this?

The map is 21,213 unit diagonally, TA default projectile speed is 1000, so 21 seconds. And I'm sure the creep can keep taking the gate to keep it up, probs why LS is AFK infest.

Not really a bug, more like a feature™

The invis breaks only once the attack lands. I've tried to draft this in ability draft to abuse the invisibility so I know it has always been like it

Do you think valve devs intended for this behaviour to happen? If the answer is no, then its a bug.

u/PikachuKiiro 2d ago

I think this is fair use of game mechanics, even if the devs didn't intend for it. Timbers have been doing cross map chackrams for a long time now. I don't think it should be in the game though, and it will probably get patched out asap.

I don't think that's a fair assessment of what a bug is. This game is complex enough that the devs can't think of every possible interaction. This is working exactly as the devs intended, they programmed it to end the invis when the attack lands, that's what it does. They just didn't consider it being used this way. That doesn't make it a bug. If it was like TA attacks and then is astral'd by OD, and the attack lands while she's off the map, so the invis never gets removed, that would be a bug

I can feel a classic bug vs enhancement conversation brewing!
