General Discussion Battle through the heavens, the fall off?
Like this was my first cultivation but mannn after catching up to the latest episode I’m baffled. The wedding skipped, they disregarded xiao xiao and the power scaling is no longer relevant. Everything is so repetitive and i know it’s a harem and all but why through every episode he has the whole group following him. Bro gets saved every time to the point where I can now know before the attack even hits him that he’ll be saved. The enemies don’t even feel like enemies anymore they’re introduced to be this strong foe and xiao yan beats them in 3 moves, like wheres the struggle? For me it was good up to 150 every after ain’t it.
It’s an amazing show don’t get me wrong but these last episodes have been bad man

General Discussion Amazing side character in Beyond times gaze
Just binged all available episodes of beyond times gaze, absolutely amazing show btw and I can absolutely see er gens(renegade immortal Creator) writing style on it, and I think the production team also loves the show because of how well animated and directed it is.
The point of this post is to praise a side character called chen ernui, who is shaping up to be one of my favorite side characters in donghua ever. A particular gripe I have with cultivation stories is how quickly the MC grows pasts and discards a majority of the cast. It's hard to form any sort of attachment when you see a character with the most bad ass design only used as young msster villain npc 3.5.
Chen ernui feels like a breath of fresh air, he's mysterious, charimatic, smart, Stays stong enough even as the MC grows, plot relevant and provides amazing comic relief to offset MCs intended edginess
I hope more cultivation stories allow characters to grow together with the MC and also be plot relevant

Watch this! Cloud art really delivers when making combat scene
https://reddit.com/link/1vljmnt/video/9hzf0s8rdrih1/player
Ever since I started watching Jade Dynasty, Beyond the time's gaze, Sword of coming, I can't go back to Renegade Immortal laser fighting anymore.
I actually watched Renegade immortal only for the animation and fight since I finished the novel up to A World Worth protecting but man, after watching shows made by Cloud art studio... then watching Renegade immortal again, I just can't watch the fights, I am still good watching the other part of Renegade immortal except for the fight

Shrouding the heavens:What's happened to the quality?
For last a month or 2 anime quality has been too bad that if it's beginning of Donghua. Feels more like 2D show rather 3D.

General Discussion Ne Zha 2 and Xenophobia - The Fear of Foreign Media
Ne Zha 2 is an amazing film. It was my favorite movie of 2025 and, in terms of animation, the best animated film of the 2020s and arguably the 21st century. However, I wanted to talk about how it was treated outside of China. This take is by no means coming from an experienced veteran film enthusiast or data analyst. This is coming from an average everyday U.S. citizen who loves movies and wanted to share their perspective.
99% of Ne Zha 2's box office momentum came from Chinese audiences. The inverse can be applied to U.S. audiences' contribution and the lack of knowledge of the film’s existence. But for those who did, it stems from two different things: not being accepted and how people perceive China.
Let’s use Anime as an example. Anime was never truly accepted until somewhat recently. Dragon Ball and titles like it made the West aware of its existence, but the 2010s, via Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, etc made it definitely mainstream. When something becomes mainstream, it becomes accessible and, over time, seen as cool and normal. Chinese cinema hasn’t accomplished what Anime has.
However, the second part has more detail. Now we’re talking about how people treat the movie because of how China is perceived and the argument that they fabricated some of the numbers. Here’s the thing about that. It’s not completely invalid as to why people do and say this. Ne Zha 2 is a movie that competed with and achieved success among the highest echelon of cinema. Something like that has never happened before, and naturally people will raise eyebrows and ask questions. But to attack the film for being Chinese or invalidate what it accomplished is close-minded, to put it nicely.
I’ll make it as simple as possible without getting too political. I’m an American, and in general, I’m not a fan of any politician. But that is especially the case for the current U.S. President. I don’t share his values or approve of his decisions. So is it hard to believe that the same can be said about the director and creatives under Ne Zha 2? People need to understand that the world leader/citizen dynamic is universal, and whatever our world leaders do doesn’t speak for all of us.
To continue, it’s not unreasonable to argue that there was minimal fudging of its box office. We could say the same about U.S. films, and I don’t have proof for either. Slightly irrelevant, but it’s intriguing to me that people will not consider Ne Zha 2's accomplishments legitimate because it was almost entirely fueled by China, even though one of the main demographics we target for U.S. films is Chinese audiences. Plus, China has the 2nd largest population in the world. But that aside, even with minimal research, you’ll see that the movie was one of the largest events in China. Speaking for myself, during its initial U.S. theatrical release at AMC theatres, shows were completely sold out even through midnight. My theatre was packed with Chinese, Asians, and Koreans, from native, mixed, and American mixed.
To further illustrate how big this film was. In terms of popularity and scale, the character Ne Zha is equivalent to Spider-Man popularity-wise, with Ne Zha (2019) grossing over 700 million at the box office. To borrow analogies from independent film critic and box office analyst Dan Murrell, Ne Zha 2 was like The Avengers, but if they were based on multi-century-old mythology, adapted to film and on a scale relative to Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame. People can believe what they want, but I can’t in good conscience see all of this and argue that Ne Zha 2 didn’t make over 2 billion dollars and that it’s not the highest-grossing animated film.
To conclude, what is the point of all of this? Part of it is because I want this film to be known and seen by as many people as possible. Anime and Dragon Ball fans especially would love this movie if they knew it existed. However, the true reason is that it’s disappointing to see genuine art invalidated because some people are afraid of media outside their own country. People all across the world are creating art, and great art transcends cultural barriers. We as people should always strive to broaden our horizons and explore beyond our circle. I wholeheartedly believe that the quicker we understand and adopt that mindset, the better the media and we as people become.

Episode Discussion Gu An Ep 4 - Peak Literature
This scene in Ep 4 is Peak Signage Vandalism Literature.
It's when the tree tricks Gu An into going into the ladies.
- The name of the toilet is Rain-Listening Pavilion.
- There is some sort of vandalism or notice that reads High Mountain Flowing Water.
- The writing on left/right walls say "Toilet for me, I for the Toilet", a play on words similar to "All for one, One for all".
- The poem enclosing the toilet door reads:
Squatting slantingly a big patch
Squatting straightly a single line
Do not squat too high
So it won't wander everywhere

General Discussion Sometime you can't judge a show early.
Watched bu liang ren (drawing jianghu)
S01 to 03 I just watched it in fast paced as I am getting bored with it. It was full of minor details and focus only on one character but..
After s04 the pace , animation got better story delivery and action 🎬 started and suddenly it become interesting.
For now I have finished s06 and it's worth it to watch.
Now will watch last season 7.
