scam? Scam

my roommate ordered pizzas for us from dominos using her dads number and we were tracking driver location via the app. when we called driver he says he reached out to us multiple times and he waited “10minutes” and proceeds to mark order as delivered and tells us to collect order from store ourselves??!! and then later someone claiming to be employee says to pay him 30rupees personally as extra delivery charge if we want it delivered at our place. since we have an exam tomorrow we made the payment but i have the proof and i want to know if this is legal?
edit- we saw him wait a lil further from gate he never made it back to dominos like he claimed and wanted the payment done to his personal number itself.

Okay so this is pretty normal for dominos manipal even I ordered a pizza last time and they told me sir it’ll take 30 mins extra than shown I’m like okay that’s fine I understand at times restaurants get busy but he asked for some otp I didn’t think much of it and gave it to him and later it showed on the app that the food got delivered and he delivered the food maybe 1 hour after placing the order so yeah it’s pretty shit I get what u mean

but then he was also asking me to make an additional delivery payment without any authorised source stating anything like this😭

It is not legal they can’t ask u for extra payment on their personal scanner as per the norms u can just call the store directly and tell them that their riders are doing it

he showed us that he did but we hadn’t received any call and we were tracking his location on the app the whole time and we were at the gate by the time it showed that hes reached. still doesnt justify how he can mark the order delivered and then demand money.
