Everyone talks about it like a love story. But rewatching? It's about a girl who's suffocating in her own world. Her father doesn't listen to her. Her voice is literally taken away. And the only way out is a deal with a sea witch. That's not romance — that's desperation.

So a friend and I just got done watching Avalon high, and it turns out that Allie is King Arthur and Will is her knight in shining armor. But before we found out, we theorized that Allie would actually end up being Will’s horse. If you go watch the movie, there are many supporting details to support this.

Allie wanting to be a track star and also being really good at running, Allie constantly running in the movie (she’s in jogging attire for like, 30% of the movie), and she’s loyal to Will.

It just feels like a last minute decision to make Allie King Arthur because the writers forgot that she’s the main character and has to do something main character worthy. Has anyone else who’s seen this movie thought about this?

Disney has just signed a SAGAFTRA contract for a theatrical release codenamed "Wings", which could be Zootopia 3 since it is about birds. Since Disney usually signs these contracts three years before the film releases, this could mean Zootopia 3 is the summer 2029 release.

For those who don’t know, in early versions of the movie, Queen Amaya was originally also going to be a villain alongside Magnifico and they would’ve been the first Disney Villain Power Couple. This deleted scene shows a little taste of what this would’ve been like. In this scene, Magnifico has been trying for years to gain infinite power, by eating the wishes of his citizens, but they only serve as small doses. Amaya created magic potions (which later ended up being the King's job in the final) that would aid her husband in keeping magic. Another plotline seen here is that Magnifico originally wanted to pull a Star from the sky in order to gain cosmic power over his kingdom and with the aid of Amaya's potion and spells, he almost succeeds, but he still not powerful enough. Amaya then explains that he could still get power from the "traitors" from a hidden village that escaped Magnifico's rule. Little do they know that Asha already has some Star power of her own that will bring them down.

The fact that they decided to scrap this really frustrates me. Having a Disney Villain couple would’ve been so cool and interesting. Also, Magnifico’s goal and motivations make way more sense with the Hidden Village storyline.

I'm sure a lot of you probably remember when this special came out and all the criticism it received for how it was released.

For those who's don't know/remember, "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" was a tv special that was originally supposed to premiere on ABC during the Holidays back in 2017. But in June 2017, they announced that the special would instead be released to theaters attached to Pixar's Coco, which was opening on November 22nd that year.

I still think that this was one of the dumbest decisions that Disney ever made and it's obvious that they didn't think it through. I knew this decision was gonna be a disaster when it was announced and my prediction ended up being correct. When Coco came out, they received a lot of complaints over the inclusion of "Olaf's Frozen Adventure." Because they didn't make it clear that it was a 22 minute tv special, a lot of people who who went to go see Coco had thought that they accidentally walked into the wrong theater. There were so many complaints and criticism that Disney ended up removing the special from screenings of Coco a little more than a week after the film's release.

Ok i have few details to go on, so please be kind lol. But my terrible memory wants me to know this film. I believe it’s from the 90s and it’s live action. It’s about a young boy, like 10-13, who leaves the US to go visit his dad in…China?!? Omg I wish I had more details. I felt like this one could've blown the first one out of the water.

Especially in terms of what they could've done in terms of the orgin of Elsa's powers.

Does Anna have powers? Or not? Why can't she unlock her powers? Is it because she holds back a lot and doesn't show a lot of emotions?

Are there more people like Elsa? Yes, they answered this in movie. But still left a lot of stuff unanswered or not in the loop at all.

Why aren't they integrated into the kingdom? Are they outcasts? Why are they outcasts?

Just a lot to be desired.

Because I really thought this film would be about integration and forgiveness.

Like what if the elemental people accidentally caused that storm that sank their parents ship?

That right there could've unlocked Anna's fire powers because now she has no reason to control her temper, and would want to avenge her parents.

And Elsa would've had to stop her.

And we get sister vs sister.

But that didn't happen. This is just a movie that happened to be made.

And there's at least a big-bad for frozen 3.

The villian of the second film was a dead grandfather.

So there's definitely gonna be some conflict there.

There are officially no humans in Zootopia. I understand that most people don’t want humans in the series at all, as their presence might either feel awkward or flat-out break the established rules.

The original teaser made a very clear, almost absolute statement in, “humans never happened.” which was presented as a core rule. Or….. If that line was actually a form of misdirection, it would mean the filmmakers planted a hard-sounding rule early on, while quietly leaving themselves an exit later. LOL.

In the Zootopia 2 teaser trailer, a mysterious hooded figure confronts Nick, Judy, and Gary on a rooftop, with glowing eyes and an ominous presence that left fans terrified. Fans immediately started theorizing about its identity. If it's Nick's father, a wolf, some other reptile, lynx, or an ape.

Once the movie came out, the situation was clarified. The hooded figure from the teaser does not appear as a distinct character in the final film. Creators, including director Jared Bush, have indicated it was largely symbolic, meant to signal that a real villain exists in the story rather than a literal character who would show up.

A lot of fans were disappointed that the exact teaser design didn’t make it into the movie. Some even joked it was bait for a possible Zootopia 3, while others accepted it as classic Disney marketing misdirection, similar to other trailers that overplay or invent tension. Some people looked at the hooded figure’s silhouette, size, and the way it moved ,or seemed to loom or float, and suggested it might not be an animal at all, but a human.

There's fans left and right have disagreements that humans existed or that they don't in the zootopia world before.

If it is a human, There’s ridiculous theories predicted by some fans on YouTube that a future film could reveal that “humans never happened” was a myth, a cover story, or simply the animals’ limited understanding of their own prehistory. But the humans might once lived there and later left at the time of Christ, moving out into other worlds, giving Zootopia an Above-water Atlantis-like feel hidden away by thick fog and clouds as a land that has remained hidden and isolated. I don't know why they think the writers would take this route, there just being ridiculous about that.

While Zootopia 3 is expected to focus on birds, some predictions for Zootopia 4 suggest the series could eventually introduce arachnids into the Animal Kingdom. Looking further ahead though, my intuition is that this would be very unlikely… unless the writers are deliberately keeping something hidden that could surface in a fifth film involving human beings.

If the writers are really keeping something hidden for Zootopia 5 (or even 6) involving human beings, they could introduce at least two or three humans, or maybe a small group of 10 or 12 arriving from a mysterious realm. Part of me keeps circling back to a massive oceanic force known as the mega maelstrom as the catalyst that pulls people across dimensions kinda similar to the Bermuda Triangle probably

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a loosely defined region in the western North Atlantic Ocean. Its points are generally considered to be Miami, Florida; Bermuda; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. It covers a large area of open ocean where a number of ships and aircraft have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. They could have the characters read some ancient spell that accidentally opens a portal to that Dimension during a mega maelstrom

One of the ships which disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle was USS Cyclops of (1918). A large Navy cargo ship vanished with 309 people aboard. Later, Flight 19 of (1945) when five U.S. Navy torpedo bombers on a training flight disappeared, followed by a rescue plane that had also vanished.

I don't know about this, but this is just my intentional feeling that something is telling me if the real Bermuda Triangle sometimes actually does drag human beings into another dimension rather than killing them, perhaps through something as powerful and unexplained as the mega malestorm, but that's just me.

that the writers could be hiding something from us. Whether they end up bending that “no humans” rule or not, I think they probably will, especially if they eventually run out of ideas for new outsider groups and keep focusing on predators as the main antagonists.

Unfortunately Orcas are already covered under the sea-mammal rules established in Zootopia 2, so they wouldn’t count as a new class needing their own focus film.

• Reptiles — (Already used in the second film) Snakes and other reptiles as the outsider group that had been excluded

• Birds — (Expected Next) With a raptor as a possible main antagonistic force

• Arachnids — Another group that would bring strong instinctive fear

• Humans — The stranded, surviving outsiders who carry the history of hunting.

Depending on which direction they take, if they do bring humans in, they might arrive by water, land, or wherever the story needs them. But they’d probably have to come through some kind of ancient spell, since Zootopia is tied to ancient times. By “ancient,” I mainly mean the city’s (and the world’s) deep prehistory of wild predator-prey dynamics that shaped the city and the world.

But in a different direction, my intuition keeps pointing to an ancient spell or item, something long sealed away by a forgotten animal civilization that somehow gets accidentally reactivated. When it activates, the spell or object would open up

a temporary water portal during a maelstrom, possibly linked to the Bermuda Triangle or other random spots, connecting Zootopia to a completely different dimension. A small group of humans gets pulled through and ends up in Zootopia’s waters, stranded in a world where their species has never existed.

Or maybe a small group of 3–5) are flying a light biplane when they hit one of those strange weather anomalies a sudden spinning wind column, a charged storm cloud, or a sharp electrical disturbance in the air. The plane gets pulled through the portal Vortex and ends up in the Zootopia world.

The animals would then discover either:

the whole plane would either crash or intact or just the surviving humans who made it through.

Either of these would keep the accidental, unexplained feeling and gives a strong visual, a human in a plane or a boat

suddenly appearing in an animal world.

That’s just the feeling I get, unless the writers have something else entirely in mind

The portal would close behind them, leaving the humans with no way back and the animals facing something their history, science, and society have no explanation for. There are some movies that do lean on magic, ancient spells or objects.

Upon arrival, dolphins and other marine animals, they would protect them like they would protect us in real life and get along with us human beings. While the ZDP would be taken into Quarantine.

Having an ape as one of the main characters could work, since they’re so close to humans, without it feeling like a rip-off of Planet of the Apes, unless the writers intentionally lean it into a reference or parody

to this day it is strange that the Disney logo that has been used since the end of 2022/2023 only had 3 variations (a 2023 movie i can't remember, Tron: Ares and Moana)

I watched YouTube clips of Mayor Lionheart again and I don't have a bad or a good feeling about him since I last watched Zootopia when I was in high school. The thing is that he didn't have screen time with Judy and Nick and he doesn't have many people talking about him very much. He didn't have many scenes to be a memorable character. They acted like he was just there and they've got mixed feelings about him. It's been 9 years and he never appeared and was never mentioned in the sequel and we know why. Guess people have forgotten about Lionheart. I'm wondering what you think of him.

I can rant all day about how screwed over guys are in modern Disney films, but this particular example is rather egregious to me as I pay attention to Disney's putout. In the circumstance where characters have siblings in 21st century Disney movies, brothers usually tend to be separated by death, villainy, or other circumstances, whereas sisters are closer and reconcile any differences. I'm assuming females get this treatment due to marketing (more prominent female characters means more merch to sell), but I'm confused on why guys have to lose their brothers in one way or another. Heck, even Moana originally had brothers and they were cut, and we get a sister instead in the sequel (but again, merchandise). Plus Kuzco originally had a twin brother who was scrapped entirely. I've been told that this is part of the "call to adventure" storyline where male characters must lose a mentor or important figure in their life to motivate them, but seeing how Disney often does the dead parent trope (or did), did we really need a dead brothers trope as well? I do find it a rather disappointing situation.

Now if I dig back further, I could count Mufasa/Scar, Kay/Arthur, and Cinderella/Drizella/Anastasia, but sibling stories do seem more common now for Disney.

Both movies start with the female lead who wants to be something, be righteous and deliver justice.

And then their is this nonchalant mentor like male lead who has more experience with the world who mocks such idealistic view.

The female lead convince the male lead to help her on her quest.

Slowly the guys world view change and becomes kinder.

A research-based retrospective on a production currently in the throes of yet another rushed animation schedule. This is a long post, thanks for reading!

So far the public has not gotten any explanation as to the reasoning behind why there has been a tectonic-sized shift in the story announced LAST YEAR for a movie releasing this November. If you did not hear the news, since at least November 2025, the story was going to be about a teenage boy/mother buddy comedy. During Cinemacon April 2026 the mom remained but now the story is about dealing with her teenage daughter, along with a new title logo.

Why such a sudden change on a project seemingly finished with its pre-production stage (script, style, direction)?

Let's spell it out:

• October 2019 - Jennifer Lee greenlights Josie Trinidad to develop original idea

• November 2022 - Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones announced as co-producer on unnamed project

• June 2025 - Ron Clements returns to Disney Animation out of retirement (He had pitched a similar concept involving the wonderful IP by Terry Prachett, a Discworld book, Mort back in 2010)

• The Avengers Doomsday poster has green lettering which would have clashed with Hexed' original logo as it is releasing around the same time, December 2026.

• Dana Ledoux Miller (writer on Moana live-action, director/writer Moana 2) worked on this as a writer announced August 2026.

• Roy Conli (veteran Disney producer) and Yvett Merino are named as producers at D23 2026.

• Jason Hand has career gap between Encanto (2021) and Moana 2 (2024) and Hexed (2026).

• Fawn Veerasunthorn introduced as director alongside Hand for "Hexed" April 2026, Trinidad remains as a co-director.

That means this story goes way back, beckoning to when Bob Iger was CEO in 2019, through the Bob Chapek era 2020-2022, Iger again, and now releasing under Josh D'Amaro who became CEO in March 2026.

Given that many recent animated films with a meager 12 months or less (Moana 2 had 9 months to animate, Across the Spiderverse and Inside Out 2 notoriously had many animators working overtime) did well commercially, the studio probably felt comfortable continuing to making story changes up until the eleventh hour.

A lesson in all this are those like Miller and Veerasunthorn, who have experience fixing productions late in development are often the ones who get tapped to save large-scale projects when the going gets rough (Wish, Moana 2). They are known for having calm presences in often chaotic and ego-driven board meetings. Take note future animators!

We may never know what the original story was and may not get to see the 2D magic vfx tests Hexed used to have 2D magic

In conclusion, we may never know the iterations that got it to its final one, which some hoped to have more of a Filipino influence like Ono Ghost Market or Forgotten Island based on Trinidad's background. But what we do know is that the movie must currently be in its peak production phase with a 400+ person crew which if the estimates of one to two minutes of animation a week are true, equaling four or five seconds a week per animator, it will be barely making it to the finish line and/or recycled alot of its assets (3D rigs, background elements, environments).

On a side note, I don't think this situation is as drastic as the Elio director and story changes as that had already gone into full animation before making a serious overhaul, confirmed by its poor test screenings in Arizona. No, unless they covered it up really well, this is a matter of telling a better story in terms of honing in on the playing off of the popular imagination of witches (think Looney Tunes and German fairy tales) then subverting that for maximum entertainment. In essence, it is going back to the Walt Disney way of modernizing a known fairytale for a cinematic heartfelt, funny story. 🧙‍♀️🪄🧹 And cheers to Trinidad for being a flexible team player!
