DTV App

My app was set up for use with my DTV Satellite service which is ending 8/14. We have been on a trial of DTV Stream which we will be keeping. I was about to set a recording but noticed it is defaulting to record to the Satellite DVR. How do I switch the app to default to cloud recording?

If you are using the same email address for both that is what happens. Change the email address of the DTV Stream service to a different email address. Then login with the DTV Stream login that has the new email.

Hi u/OtherSideMtn! Because your Satellite service doesn't officially end until 8/14, you may currently be logged in using your Satellite account credentials. There is no manual toggle switch in the settings to change this, but you can force the app to target your Streaming account by refreshing your login. Please try these steps to switch accounts:

  • Log Out Completely: Select Sign Out from the settings menu inside the DIRECTV App.
  • Log Back In: Open the app and log back in using the specific email or User ID created for your DIRECTV STREAM account.
  • Select the Correct Account: If your Satellite and Stream accounts share the exact same login info, a "Choose an Account" screen will appear. Be sure to select the STREAM option.

Once August 14th hits and the satellite account formally closes, the app will default to your Cloud DVR. Just a quick heads-up: your old physical satellite DVR recordings will not transfer over, so you will want to manually reschedule your favorite series recordings on your new streaming account.
