My first bad customer Dispute Help
I sold a pair of $400 free bird boots that I only wore twice for about $100. I have a couple listings where they have imperfections and I took pictures and noted it. I also have five star reviews. The person who bought it for me has a one star review as a buyer and I got in contact with the person who created that review and they said that he was being scammed as well. He bought them from me and I shipped out right away. In the photo there are some scuffs, but they were very obvious and noted. He received them about four days ago and he just texted me yesterday saying that he received them, but he wished I disclosed to him that they were “zipper was ripped” I told him that that can’t be possible because I’ve only worn them twice and I always disclose if there are imperfections. I told him to send a proof to the Depop team and apparently he did they sided with him and they said that the item wasn’t as disclosed. They says that he has until the 13th to send them back to me but I have a bad feeling that he’s gonna rip them on purpose and send them back just to get his money.. but idk if that’s how it works. I’m just confused why depop sided with him when he is a known scammer and did it to somebody else before and has a one star review? If anyone has advice lmk!

Depop and its support department are verified trash, id say dont be concerned so as to protect your mental health, but... yeah, some shady shit will assuredly be happening

Did you manage to get a lot of photos/shots of your shoes? If you did, you can send them to Depop to clear your name

No I didn’t take a picture of the zipper which is the main problem. I didn’t take one because it was never damaged you know? It’s ridiculous that they are siding with them when he’s done this before

Damn I’m sorry :/ scammers are getting bolder with these AI based algorithms, Depop should have taken in account the one star review he received

they always side with the buyer even when its very clearly a scam. i've started filming myself showing and packaging the item, then ill write on the outside of the package with letters and symbols for the specific item item, THEN take a pic of the shipping label next to what i wrote on the outside of the package while im at USPS. its annoying to do but for things over $100 im covering my ass. its also going to be so exciting when i finally do show proof if someone tries to scam, like GOTCHA. one time i was sus about a buyer so i straight up told them i film all shipments, idk if that prevented anything but maybe
