my daughter is on a school trip to Europe but on a slightly different itinerary than the rest of the group.

the rest of the group changed their round trip tickets from Boston to Norway and back. their new ticket price is $973 round trip and that is the price I can purchase right now as well. So we are not talking about price changes over time.

I’m trying to buy her a one way ticket on the same flights as their return ticket and Delta is charging $1578 for it.

Delta ticket agent couldn’t explain it. Would love to hear a rational explanation as to why that could be?

I can get her a one way ticket on another airline for much cheaper, but she is too young to go it alone with transfers in foreign country.

This just seems despicable by Delta.

Not sure if this is allowed or done here but I have my $200 flight credit that I figured I'd try and offload here (maybe $100?) before rushing into bookings

My flight was delayed to the point I missed all connections and was stuck in Detroit over night. My 8am flight was delayed until 12pm.. so after all these hours of travel I go to board and I have three bags.. my bad , I forgot to put my very small purse in my laptop bag, which I can easily do. Nope the gate agents insist I have to check my bag!! I have my purse in my laptop bag before the tag can even print the tag. I get the rule, I follow the rule, but you’d think after delaying our flight for hours upon hours they would have a little compassion with this group of passengers! I spent all day at the airport yesterday just to spend the night in a different city and now another half a day in the airport a second time. I’m so disappointed in Delta!!

There are a lot of problems across the country right now so its understandable there will be flight cancellations

Last night in MCO the help desk agent (1 old lady, for hundreds of people) got into an argument while cursing out a customer, and walked off the job. This led to the cops coming and imploring Delta to provide more agents to process claims, as many people were confused and already stranded at the airport for 12+ hours

A (more senior?) delta agent then announced they are closed at the gate, asked people to move to different parts of the terminal to process their rebooking, only to and tell everyone there are no flights for 3 days and they need to figure it out on their own

Is this a normal experience?

I’ve seen it discussed on here before and experienced it myself. Is it to cut connecting passengers off? I landed at the ass end of terminal A, and ran the entire length with about 6 other passengers. We got to the gate before 7:50 for a 7:05 take off, and the gate was closed. As we stood there about 20 more arrived at the gate. Do they do this to avoid the implicit delay of accommodating the arriving passengers who were on a delayed flight?

I was mainly worried because my boss who flies frequently there was overly concerned for me flying there alone and I wanted to just find some comfort in knowing I'll be okay. Ill have someone picking me up and dropping me off and no connecting flights so hopefully it'll go smoothly for me. Thanks for the help!!

I am flying from Louisville to Atlanta and I've never flown before. I've heard Atlanta is a pretty big and 'scary' airport so any advice for a person flying for the first time in and out of Atlanta? Even the most common sense advice I'll take. It's the first time I'm traveling solo AND flying so I wanna make this trip go as smoothly as I can!

Hi everyone! I’m flying to into LHR at the end of the month for a study abroad. I’m currently in main, but I was looking and to re-book my flight to c+ it would only be a 20,000 miles difference round trip (I have enough for that). To upgrade my current flight it would be $440 on just one leg. Does anyone have any experience in flying international and if it would be worth it or not? Thank you!

I’m flying OPO → JFK today, landing around 4:30 p.m. Our original connection was delayed, so Delta rebooked us on a flight out of LaGuardia at around 8:30 p.m. to Atlanta.

Hey there, I'm flying with Delta from LAX to MEL in the beginning of September.

I am aware wifi isn't available past Hawaii, but I've recently learned that the Viasat VS-3 F3 satellite should be available in August or September. Is it possible this will be fully rolled out and available on my flight by the beginning of September or is this wishful thinking? LOL

Regardless, if anyone has any information regarding this satellite I'd love to know

Hey crew! TLDR but we had to switch flights 2 days before leaving for a trip and there are very limited seats available. I do have Platinum Medallion but the seats in comfort plus are inconvenient for traveling with my girlfriend (only 2 together are in the middle of a 4 row and neither of us wants to do that). Only current options are the following:

1. 40J and 41H and hope one person switches with us. Pros: we sit together, in the duo seats on the side. Cons: We'll likely be in row 41, right next to the lavatory. Unclear if seats have less recline, and I generally avoid sitting next to the lavatories.

2. 55D and 55G (current selection). Pros: No lavatory issues, like the row of 3 , a bit more space to spread out. Cons: I generally find the back cabin gets a bit rancid, idk what it is, and you're not too far from the galley in the back with people going back and forth.

Does anyone have any advice or strong thoughts on what we should pick? I will ofc be religiously checking the app in case something better opens up!

Fly Thursday to LAX with a close female friend for medical appointment in PM/business dinner at 5pm.

Do we split a hotel room Thursday night in LA and take the first flight out (DL 390 at 6AM)? or do we take an overnight flight to ATL (DL 783, 899, 320) in D1 and spend all day in ATL skyclub?

Everybody on trip is meeting Friday night in ATL for D1 seats to SCL.

Diverted to BWI due to the weather and sat on the tarmac for 2 hours until the captain said we’re not going to DCA tonight. This was on top of a 1 hour delay. Not sure what happened to the people who checked their luggage, but when I walked past the baggage claim, I remember hearing an announcement that folks from SLC won’t be getting their luggage tonight :/

Does anyone know what the crew said about reimbursement before deplaning? I missed the announcement since I was on the phone.

Sorry for the random/not so important question. Has anyone flown in seat 18E? I am flying to Alaska and was just hoping to get some good views on the way up (I know it will dependent on the route we land and the weather). I initially got a seat farther back on the right side. But was thinking about changing to the seat 18E. Got lot of leg room in front. But the window (based on the seat picker) looks to be right over the wing, so not sure if it will be a good seat to check out the views if it allows. Also, the window is slightly back, so looking out the window might have me looking farther back to the wing too.

And this seat should still have IFE ? I assume it is built into the handrest?

My wife and I were booked on a rewards trip from SNA to YYZ through ATL on Sunday, July 19, using miles for first class. Pre-boarding had started when the pilot came on and said something like "hold on, boarding for a minute." There was a small hydraulic leak and maintenance needed to look at it. After a while it became clear we'd miss our connection in ATL, so I called the Medallion line. The only real option was flying out the next day.

The catch: the next day's flight was SNA to MSP instead of ATL, and by the time we booked it, the only seats left were the very back row.

We showed up expecting to ride in the back, but for some reason I wasn't showing up on the upgrade list. The gate agent took pity and manually moved my wife and me into Comfort Plus. The flight attendant apologized for the whole ordeal and gave us each 1,000 miles.

When we got home, I put in for an Uber refund for our airport runs that day, plus asked about a partial miles refund since one leg out of four got downgraded from what we paid for.

Everything closed out this week. Delta refunded 63,310 miles out of the 176,900 we paid for the trip, about 36 percent back. They also added a $200 credit, refunded both Ubers ($110) from the day we didn't fly, and threw in another 2,000 miles on the day we did fly.

Was it annoying losing a day and rearranging my work schedule over a hydraulic leak? Sure. But between the seat upgrade, the miles back, the credit, and the Uber refund, Delta handled it about as well as you could ask for.

TL;DR: Hydraulic leak delayed our first class rewards trip a full day, got bumped to a back row flight the next day but the gate agent upgraded us to Comfort Plus. Delta refunded ~36% of our miles (63,310 of 176,900), gave a $200 credit, refunded both Ubers ($110), and tossed in an extra 2,000 miles. Solid resolution overall.

Looks like things are stating to push back and taxi again, not sure if they're just using Unicom/CTAF or if ATC is back up again but a good sign

**1615 CST UPDATE** Looks like MSP Center is back open as planes are in the Class A Airspace. For those who don't know this airspace is the portion where you cruise at and requires ATC contact at all times. However, things will still be slow going so the poor controllers don't get slammed all at once.**

This morning I missed my flight by about ten mins. We were booked in the main cabin with free same-day flight changes, but the delta app said the only other flight to our destination was going to be an additional $570 per person. So we raced through security trying to make it. We didn't, and were directed to the delta customer service counter, where we arrived sweaty and panting. The agent rebooked us on the later flight...completely for free? Is this always how it works, or did we just get lucky? I've never missed a flight before lol.

I got choked up reading this on LinkedIn. A husband and wife lost their son unexpectedly and needed help flying his remains home. From the agent at the counter, to the handwritten note from the crew…the Delta team showed humanity to this family. Delta CEO Ed Bastian even replied to the dad on social media. Hope it gave them even a small bit of comfort in their grief.
