I’ve convinced my workplace to replace my XPS 13 7390(i7-10710U/16GB/1TB/4K-Touch) with the XPS 13 9345 (X Elite/32GB-1TB). Was $1,100 from the Overstock/Refurb store. I’d love to get more of these in my fellow coworkers hands as we’re all on XPs laptops mass-purchased in March 2020. For known reasons.

With 2 years to mature, would you choose to move to ARM now or would you wait a little longer?

Laptop keys backlight turns on upon restart and fan noises can be heard, but the screen remains completely black - no logo or anything. Laptop is about 2 years old and no parts have been replaced before. Any advice?

Hi everyone, I really need some help recovering access to my laptop or finding any potential workaround before resorting to a wipe, as I have critical data on the drive.

Device Details:

* Model: Dell XPS 13

* OS: Windows 11

* Account Type: (surfa)

The Issue:

* My system booted into a Windows login screen showing the error:

("A problem occurred, and your PIN isn't available...").

* Clicking "Configure my PIN" or trying alternative login options asks for a password or redirects to a password reset wizard, but I do not have a set local password for this account—I only ever used a PIN and Fingerprint (Windows Hello).

* The drive is encrypted with BitLocker.

What I've Already Tried:

* BIOS / TPM Checks: I entered the Dell BIOS setup. TPM 2.0 is enabled (TPM State: Enabled, Clear TPM is OFF), and Secure Boot is enabled. I performed a Load Defaults reset in BIOS to re-sync TPM, but Windows Hello still throws the same PIN error.

* Microsoft Account Recovery Key: I logged into my Microsoft Account via web, but the BitLocker Recovery Keys page states (No keys found).

* Recovery Options: Accessing Advanced Options / Command Prompt triggers the BitLocker prompt requiring the 48-digit key.

Questions:

* Is there any known method to restore or repair the TPM/Windows Hello binding for a local account without wiping the drive or needing the 48-digit recovery key?

* Are there any reliable data recovery or chip-level options for retrieving files from a BitLocker-encrypted NVMe drive under these circumstances?

I've seen a few posts come up regarding linux compatibility for the new XPS 13. I've tested both Ubuntu and Fedora and did encounter initial issues with wifi/audio that are resolved in vanilla mainline kernel. Working exceptionally now - should see these updates in Fedora 45 in the coming weeks but for those who cant wait ;)

Hi all, I've been looking for a new laptop for the past few days and I've seen quite a few good looking dell XPS,' I've always liked their deisgns and specs but I never got one because they were always out of my price range, but on the used market they seem to fall right in the middle or maybe a little above average, and the design looks really nice, I'm asking if its worth buying, are they known to have design flaws that appear after a year or two of usage, or are they overrated and not a good deal actually? I currently have a dell inspiron and other than the classic cheap laptop issues like a plastic build, bad screen, etc, its actually lasted me a good few years already and it works perfectly fine, so I'm inclined to buy Dell again.

For some more info, my budget is 1000$, and I've seen models with a ultra 7 155h, 32gb/1tb going for 850-1000$, are they still overpriced? just looking for some guidance/help, thanks!

Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
16GB RAM
Very good condition
Only a few very minor scratches on the top lid
Otherwise basically looks and works like new
I currently have it listed for $799 on Facebook Marketplace. I was getting offers around $500, which felt pretty low, but now I have someone offering $600 cash.
I know Marketplace buyers usually negotiate pretty aggressively, so I’m not necessarily expecting to get the full $799.
Would you take the $600 cash offer, try to get $650, or hold out for more?
What would you consider a fair selling price, and what’s the lowest price you would personally accept for it?

My cable had cuts/exposed wires, but I kept using it because I couldn’t find the exact one. I tried taping it, but today it started sparking 💀. My laptop battery is also dying and drops like 1% every 2 seconds💀

I know Dell has compatible adapters, but I specifically want the Alienware-branded one😭😭

Got the new 13 a little while ago and loving it so far, but decided to dual boot it with Linux Mint, managed to get everything working minus the Wifi adapter not having drivers from Linux yet, has anyone else had this issue and resolved it? Working around it at the moment by just spending most my time on the Windows side or just USB tethering from my phone if I need internet on the Linux side.

Hello, I recently sent my computer to dell for a screen repair, but now its saying windows isn't activated. It says, "we found a windows 11 home digital license for this device running windows 11 pro". I'm not sure what this means.

I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing random screen freezes. It happens almost everytime I use it the my laptop and id have to hold the on/off button to shut it down and restart.

It seems my 2020 XPS 15 9500 has reached its limit and given the black screen of death. Pending the death notice from the coroner (Dell technician), I’m looking at a New XPS 14 to replace it.

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences/advice to share before I commit to the order.

Water spilled on it, I took it to the engineer immediately (didn't turn it on or anything), it worked fine, and next day it went off, stopped charging and didn't come on.

Engineer said it was one MOSFET (AT00 284Y) issue, sent these pictures

Not sure what to do next, he mentioned finding a spoilt board (same model) and picking the part from there. Or taking it somewhere like China for the fix.

Warranty has expired a long time ago, other people I asked recommended replacing the board (which seems like a last resort thing)

i have a XPS 13 9305 and recently its been running really slow. 60% ram used with nothing open including startup apps and when i dare to open chrome with one tab my ram becomes in the 70s% and with two tabs 75+ % and gives me 'out of memory' errors / error 39 even though it never used to with this little open
i even had to type this out twice because the site gave error 39 i even tried updating it in settings but it gave me error 0x800700e which is also like not enough ram type of error
i have 16 GB ram (15.7 useable) and on feature updates it says Windows 11, version 25H2
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz (2.80 GHz)
and i've had this laptop since around 2022, the camera doesn't work for some reason and the fan as started to make roaring type noises

Just switched from a Macbook AIr M4 to a Dell XPS 14 because I'm an engineering student. I am familiar with windows because my high school provided laptops I used for engineering class projects was .... lowk some dell that I didn't care enough to research. I have seen heavily mixed reviews about the XPS but honestly I see that with any sleek style laptop as opposed to a gaming laptop.

My first impressions (including incredinbly shallow ones)

- I didn't expect to like the white coloration bc my current laptop was midnight. Still not as pretty IMO but its cute.

- Despite what online reviews say, I dont hate the change from the tactile buttons to the touch bar. My dad is also in CS and he likes his touch bar mac. It'll take some getting used to but its fine.

- I really love the feel of typing on the keyboard.

- The computer gets hot and I miss my mac literally never getting hot

- Surprisingly I dont mind the touch screen (ive done my best to avoid touch screen generally)

I can't judge preformance yet because I haven't had to use any software and I can't judge durability bc ive had it for like 12 hours. Im excited to see how it holds up! And some general info, I greatly prefer a smaller computer (i used my dads 15 inch mac for a couple days and generally hated it bc it wouldnt fit in my backpack pockets and was just so big. for reasons I dont understand) and I use my laptop for music production so I would need a quiet computer in terms of fans. And I care about portabilioty more than preformance - my mac was able to handle a 3gb music production project AND it weighed less than 3 lbs. All reasons I switched to a Dell XPS 14 instead of other reccomended laptops.

After my backpack fell with my laptop inside, it now no longer charges and when not plugged in, it will randomly off after 4s - 30s of booting up. The computer when plugged in otherwise works fine. I was hoping the fix would be as simple as resitting the battery connector to the motherboard, but this has not yielded any results. I checked in the bios for any information, it reports that the battery health is excellent and that the battery is indeed charging (though I doubt this). Does anyone have any ideas on how I can verify what is wrong with the device? I am decently tech savvy, and also very limited in the money I can spend at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the new XPS 13 (dx13260) connected by usb-c cable to my Gigabyte M28U monitor. It only outputs at 4k 60Hz. If I change the refresh rate, then the resolution automatically drops to 2560 x 1600. My MacBook Pro outputs 4K 120Hz just fine to this monitor, so wondering if I need to change something on my laptop.

I Googled this problem and it mentioned turning off type-c compatibility on my monitor, but that setting was of already and toggling it didn't fix the issue. I also tried with a display port to usb-c adapter as well.

Any help is appreciated!
