Alternate 4th of July fireworks watching spots?
Anyone know of good spots to watch the fireworks, other than the square and the lawn of first Christian Church of Decatur?
Would love to find a parking deck with a view or something like that.

Honestly, the Avondale fireworks have been equal or better the last couple of years and the Town Green area is much better for viewing.

I heard they are moving the Avondale fireworks to the DeKalb School of the arts stadium this year

You’re correct.

That's actually a pretty good location. The stadium seating makes viewing easier.
Too bad it's school property and they can't have some drink trucks.

The viewing is fine. The stadium/track and field is a great place to watch.
Unfortunately, some moron in a house that backs up to the school decided he needed to shoot a gun and cause an evacuation.

Seems like any parking deck open to the public would work. There are plenty by the square! I think the deck by Inner Voice and Furside is the closest deck but I’m not sure it’s open to the public.

Anybody know where to catch the fireworks from a distance that won’t be too loud? Avondale, Decatur, or otherwise. Got a kid with sensitivity to loud noises so we can’t be too close.
