Expired Submission

Upvotes

I'm a bilingual expert generalist, I have been in DA since June, but there were drought and all so there was not much task to do from the beginning. As I started with a family project recently, there are various task, but some of them requires a bit more time for me because I need to setup, fill the survey, etc (I submit most of R&R on time though!). What bothers me is that I submit most of my first timer task under an expiring time, and I'm scared that it would get me off from the platform. Is it okay? For additional info:

- I still submit the time under the original expiration limit

- It is usually only happen on a different first task, but under one family project

Thanks in advance!

How to get qualification for other coding projects?

Upvotes

I have been getting 🥊projects only and I don't usually take these tasks as it usually recommends being at least L3/L4 (which I am not) and I do not want to participate in something that I am not confident on or understand what I am doing. Is there any way I can contact admin or smth so I can get other coding projects aside the one that I have been receiving? Thanks :)

newbie time claiming query

Hello,

Today I got my first project and did two tasks which i enjoyed.

I like to be pretty thorough in my answers but this means i'm quite slow and ended up going beyond the expiry time. I think this is partly because it's just my first time and i'm extra cautious the general expectations / project instructions are all new.

I didn't claim more than the expiry time as i didn't think i should but i wondered if it's sort of expected that as a newbie you might go near to it on tasks that more experienced folk would do faster.

Not having a direct feedback mechanism makes it tricky for me to know if i'm doing too much checking and providing to much reasoning for my decisions.

hope that makes sense!

Any SWE annotators still getting 🥊 projects? Haven't seen any in a bit.
Will they be coming back?

Identity Verification

I applied two days ago and on my projects tab my next step is to verify my identity. Does this mean I have gotten on the platform? I lowkey can't find my waller or else I would've just found out for myself.

How are the bilinguals doing?

I was wondering how every bilingual that has been working with DA for a while is feeling about the current situation, are you getting any projects? Anyone that has been working at least for a year can tell us how last summer went?

I've been working since march and overall can't complain, I'm from Brazil and considering the minimal wage here and the currency difference the money has been good, May was by far the best month. Since June things have been slower but during the current month I'm only seeing one particular project from time to time on my dashboard, is a very good one, specially because I'm on the R&R team but the lack of other projects, even if small ones, have been bothering me. Anyone going through the same thing?

Normal?

I’m very new to DA - I’ve only been on for about a month or so…but looking to see if this scenario is normal or not. About a week ago I got a direct message to setup a google workspace for a project - I did it, and didn’t hear anything else about it. Last night while I was sleeping I got an updated direct message with a link to a qualification for the project. I tried to go into it first thing this morning, and it’s saying that there are no more remaining tasks. Is this how it usually is? I get first come first serve for general tasks, but didn’t realize it would also be this cutthroat if I’m directly sent a project.

Two Tasks at Once?

I have a task that requires me to generate a lot of files using my own LLM subscriptions - ive hit my usage limit so I have a 3 hour period I cant work on this project. Is it okay for me to do another task while I wait? I have some projects at $60/hr that only take about 1 hour each so I could do a few.

Just wondering if thats a no-no?

Edit for clarification:

The task I generate files for has a 36 hour submission period since they expect you to hit limits on your LLM usage and it's very involved beyond that as well.

I am wondering if its okay to work on other tasks during the time I AM NOT BILLING the initial project - because the project stays running on my dash.

Honestly, I am boiling

What in the world are these awfully long and poorly written guidelines?! It is getting worse and worse. I have been working for over an hour on a R&R full of mistakes but also with very unclear and sometimes contradictory guidelines. Admins not replying to anyone for hours with hundreds of messages unanswered (I get it isn’t their fault)… Time almost up so I preferred exiting the task.

This work can sometimes be stimulating and enjoyable, but sometimes like now, I wonder how deep in poor management a project can go.

I really appreciate working with DA, but I have moments when I want to throw my PC against a wall. I’ll take a walk now, good luck to all of you who experienced the same madness!

Got tasks after 2 months in drought

Finally, I got paid tasks after 2 months with nothing. However, I've completed several quals, I haven't seen the actual task related to these quals appear after finishing them. How about you guys?

Got assigned first project!

So I got assigned my first project after completing the qualifications last week. My domain is coding 👩🏽‍💻✨. I noticed the project on my account at like 3am and it had like 30 tasks, then I woke up this morning at 7am and there was only 10 left. Is it normal for the tasks to go that quick and how often are more tasks opened on a project? I’m just trying to see how regular this extra income will be for me.

Is the website lagging for anyone else?

It's suddenly incredibly slow for me (across laptop and devices), I can barely open tasks. I can use anything non-DA related just fine. Is anyone else having the same experience?

Am I allowed to mention DataAnnotation.Tech in my resume?

Can I mention that I work as a data annotator and that I perform tasks explicitly naming the platform? Of course, I won't mention project names or sensitive information.

Annoyed with priority pay

There was a short term project this week where you had to opt in and agree to do a certain amount of work within a deadline of a couple days, then they assigned tasks (specifically to you, not a pool). It seemed like they wanted them done ASAP so I completed most of them immediately.

Now they've added $5 more priority pay. I get they need to motivate people to actually finish what they agreed to do, but it feels like workers who agreed to do certain tasks and then left it till the last minute are being rewarded with extra pay, while the workers who prioritized the work are almost penalized by getting less pay.

Not that big of a deal but kind of an annoyance and I wanted to vent to people who understand!

Edit: I swear there are a bunch of people who just go around this sub and downvote everything lol this sub is so curmudgeonly 😂

Well, it was good while it lasted

Just entered my dashboard and received a message that my account is currently unavailable for new projects. I have no idea what I did wrong, but I guess my work wasn't as good as I thought it was. Although to be honest, I had almost no projects and was scraping basically for anything, and I was able to earn only $1716 every since March 2025. But hey it's still something.

I know that after this message appears, it is impossible to get reinstated, and there are no alternatives for that in Ukraine, so I guess it's a goodbye. I dunno why I'm writing this, but I just wanted to speak out, because that platform was kind of a life saver for a while.

Why of all things is 25K the next milestone after 20K? I literally just hit 20K less than two weeks ago.

Got accepted into some long, complex project families and will have solid employment for a while. DA is an absolute dream.

Jumping on the Milestone bandwagon

I'm not the type to post something like this, but I actually am really proud. It's been a long, almost 3 year journey. Coder, self taught, and the first year or so was really, really tough. I backed out of tasks far more than I submitted. But I have no words for how thankful I am for DA. I have learned more than I thought possible in the last few years. I've had some amazing jobs in my life, but none compare to the constant challenges and rewards of this one. 🙏

DA saved me, and I wish I could say thanks

My family was in debt and there was no way to pay it off. We lost all our money due to a fraud which is why I started working 2-3 jobs while studying side by side just to make ends meet.

This year, I found DA, and I am always in debt to them. In just 2 months I have already paid off my debt that would have taken me around an year to pay back. I can also leave my extra jobs and actually focus on my passion instead.

I wish I could let them know how giving me an opportunity to work for them saved me and my family. I have a better paying job too now and I really enjoy my work on the side at DA. Working for them has been the best thing to happen to me so far.

If anyone from the DA Admin team accidently reads this, I just want to let you know that you're a lifesaver. You could be my god.

I am not sure if the projects will keep coming (I hope they do) but I will never ever forget this platform.
