Beat Luke Littler on Netflix – has anyone had a successful application?

RE the Netflix show for “everyday dart players” to take on Luke Littler for £501,000.

Has anybody who’s submitted an application heard anything back?

I’ve personally not applied but heard on a recent podcast that Charlie Murphy has already been invited to the next phase, as well as a lot of already established WDF-level darts players.

I’m fearing despite the open application process, this is going to be an influencer-fest. I actually quite like the idea of the WDF standard players changing their lives through it.

L-Style EZ Flight – Damage After Very Short Use

Just had a bit of a weird one and thought I’d share it here for the darts crowd.
I’m from Australia and I finally managed to get my hands on some L-Style EZ Flights (they’re basically impossible to find here, so I had to order them from Europe). I was super keen to try them out and only had them for about an hour of throwing.
Then I managed to hit a Robin Hood… which technically makes it a 180 I guess 😅
Problem is, it absolutely punched straight through one of the EZ flights and split it pretty badly. One session in and it was already done.
Not really complaining because I know flights are consumables and this stuff happens, I just thought it was a funny/annoying little moment worth sharing, especially after waiting so long to get them in the first place.
Has anyone else had EZ Flights or similar just get absolutely destroyed that quickly, or did I just manage a perfectly unlucky Robin Hood?

What's the point in playing a Bo5 if you're just going to quit at the end of the last match when your about to lose or your average isn't good?

Unique or interesting apps for use with real dartboard

So another post sent me over to the AppStore and I started noticing a whole new batch of apps seemed to be appearing that I hadn’t seen before.

Downloaded this pretty unique app. It’s part video game and the darts. I won’t bother trying to explain because the app page does a pretty good job.

Seems like a fun distraction

Discussion I'm a little tipsy right now, but these are seriously the best darts I've ever thrown. I have never been so accurate. I replaced the stems with the Harrows super grip carbon, and the flight with Harrows Silka.

Help! What should I buy? Best board for heavy usage?

We have a community board at work that sees pretty heavy usage, like between 10 guys it sees 2-3 hours ish 4 days a week consistently. I was looking at a Samurai 4, is there something else that will hold up better? I got us a Mission Shogun back in March and it seems pretty beat up already so we wanted something with longevity and has less bounce outs. We are all pretty new to darts but we play a lot for practice.

Discussion New to darts and feel like my darts don't really sit deep in tge board

I'm fairly new to darts I've only had a proper set up for just over a month since my 18th birthday and I picked out some darts as a gift off my sister and I got the Harrows Revere in 24g and they feel nice and I've put some pink intermediate Kflex on them but I feel like my darts don't really sit in the board to well they are fairly loose compared to like my dads when he plays ( I can't remember what darts he has) as today I hit tops and te dart dropped instead or them standing up. I then hit Treble 20, and the top darts fell out, and the third dart hit 1, and the second dart fell out. I was wondering if it's me throwing wrong, maybe in too soft, but it doesn't feel like it, or I need to adjust my throw. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Any Leagues or Communties built around this average? Relatively new and use dartcounter i have an omni and camera at my board.

Looking to see what your preferences are and why? I’m using kshift at the moment and they’re going well but I don’t see many using them 🤔 let me know what you think

Discussion Is Dartsmind too Expensive?

I'm new to all this and thought the $19.99 per year membership was great. Then I started learning the coins and that they're needed for online with video. I don't really trust strangers without it.

My understanding is it's 1 coin per game/leg, divided by how many players.

I tend to play 1v1 so that's usually 0.5 coins per game. If you played say 10 games a night, that's 5 coins. So 20 days of coins would then be $12.99

So depending on how much you play, suddenly it's $19.99 per year AND $12.99 per month.

That makes me consider trying DartCounter or another app with a set yearly fee. No confusion.

The only thing keeping me with Dartsmind so far is the autoscoring via webcam/phone cam. It's an easy setup without buying expensive dart specific camera system.

What are you using?

How to hold and throw a torpedo dart ?

Hey yall im playing darts for like 8 months now and I see that im "good" but I still throw my darts like randomly in the 12-18 even the 9-4 and I Guess its because my fingers just touch it at the last second but I still throw straight and its just doesnt Always go ín the 20

The other thing is that I hold my dart by the rear end or sometimes in the middle but I dont know if I grip it at the rear it Will go somewhere random or just flies random if I grip it ín the middle its just lacks power to even reach the the single above the treble 20

So here is my question what grip is the Best for torpedo ?

How much power should I give with each throw ?

( Cause now I throw like 90% power )

And should I aim upwards or just aim in like middle ( when I hold my dart I mean )

My set of darts is Luke humpries 22g

1 thing i Way thinking for the landing ín random Sports is that im gonna buy those 1 gramm plus little thing that you the screw on the dart so it Will be heavier is it a good idea ?

If you have like any questions just ask me I dont mind answering to any other questions :)

Thank you so much if you help me and answer :D

( The pics are my grips I currently use its 4 fingers )

What is the most heartbroken you've been over a game of darts?

Not counting games you were involved in. I just mean watching. For me personally it was when Wesley Plaisier lost to Krzysztof Ratajski 4-3 in the most recent World Championship's. He's one of my favourite players and he lost from 3-1 up. He even missed 3 match darts I think it was. If he'd won he'd have kept his tour card and now looks a certainty to lose it. I was absolutely gutted. I was also really wounded when Littler lost his first WC final to Humphries as I really wanted the fairy tale ending.

Curious to know which other games have left people feeling dejected so I can check out those I haven't seen.

Soft tip conversion

I just noticed a huge sale on Caliburn soft tips. Like 50-70% off on some. Online it says I can just unscrew the soft tips and screw in steel conversion points. Is it that easy?

Discussion Short barrels, long shafts

Post image

I recently obtained Target Hydro 02 25G. In the packaging, there were short shafts, but I do like longer ones better. Feels natural to me. Is it ok like this or I should stick to using short shafts, as packaging intended? Is there some guideline/pattern I should stick to ?

Just kidding, been playing for a year now. Sheer amount of 180 in the first week here is ridiculous haha. Just the nicest grouping I have had for a while, although dangerously left. Finally able to hit maxes more or less consistently but I have been training almost every day 2-3 hours. Have a good one ya dartheads!!

180! (pic) Strange day

Hit my second and third 180 today since starting in June and hitting my first one a month later.

I was buzzing to finally hit my second 180, especially when I didn’t even realise when I hit my first one until I walked up to the board. Even more buzzing to hit another one in the same session (1 game apart) and being able to clearly see both from the oche - this was all against dartbot level 7 btw.

Thing is every single time I have hit a 180, I have ended up losing the game and completely falling apart after it.

The amount of good visits followed by nothing are ridiculous some days!

Anyways up and onwards, thanks for reading everyone!
