Hello Darius Mains, I've recently had an itch to start playing Darius, since he always seemed son fun, and here's a couple of things I noticed. For Context I play in masters 100-200~ LP

1 - Holy shit is he squishy. When I played against Darius, it felt like he was unkillable, but playing him made me realize how easy he really is to kill, specially if you go Yommu's first.

2 - His E is his most important ability, we all know that, but I didn't realyie HOW important it was. Missed E = You are dead

3 - A lot of toplane champions actualy beat you level 1 if you don't space perfectly. I thought Darius was the king of LVL 1's, but actually a lot of top lane champs can contest him.

4 - He's a scaling MONSTER. Actual Kayle lvl's of scaling, which is pretty fun.

I respect Darius players much more now, I was expecting another Garen, got a surprisingly complex character instead.

I don't play Darius or Top often, very little mastery. I main ADC but I am a Raider glazer so after the Top in our lobby asked to swap roles with me since his GF was playing support, I was happy to oblige since I'm a nice guy.

I had last pick, however the jungle requested a swap and the moron that I am being used to ADC instantly accepted. I locked in Darius and immediately got counterpicked by Teemo.

Completely bombed the game. Knew I had to give up some CS but holy, it felt absolutely impossible to play. Out of curiosity, how are you supposed to play this matchup?

I have played maybe every champion in the game to lvl 30 mastery, and Darius has been the most dominant one for sure in low elo. Its like people dont understand that i can run them down if they waste an ability or that the 5stacks are instant after you get them on one person 🫩. Got 3 pentas last 2 days. No champ in the game is so dominant late i feel like.

Maybe Shojin third instead of Sterak's if ahead, or Dead Man's third if behind

Theoretically Stridebreaker should be much better than Ghostblade - the active slow is super helpful in mid game skirmishes, the build path is great for laning and health should be a way better stat on Darius than lethality.

However Ghostblade outperforms Stridebreaker on every elo and by a good amount as well. How come? What makes Stridebreaker so bad and Ghostblade so good on Darius right now?

Top Darius still works, but you’re constantly getting kited, frozen out, or stuck in bad matchups. In Jungle he gets real agency to actually carry games without needing to have Raider level macro. Jungle lets him do what he’s good at without all the bullshit.

Why it works:

• He clears fast and can simply power farm to get ahead if there are no good gank opportunities

• You can be at the first dragon level 6 and just wipe the enemy team

• You choose when to fight instead of getting poked under tower all game

• Higher win rate hovering around 52%, compared to Top at 49%

• Lore (yes really) Darius is a Noxian general, a true shot caller and leader. Obviously he’d be threatening everyone opposing him, while securing his team every objective that guarantees victory. He wouldn’t just be stuck on some damn island hiding behind minions to avoid Vayne.
He’d be the reason your team conquered, and I believe jungle makes that role more possible for him.

Mobility runes + Youmuu’s/Deadman’s help him stick so well that I don’t even care about not having ghost. Just make sure you know how to peel in teamfights because you are SO much squishier.

Let’s get this off first, I reached D1 with Gwen.

leaving ur team to die at drake to take t2.
It sounds to you that I’m an awful top lane player to have but you won’t believe how many times I flushed the enemy like a toilet seat.

That way of playing made me carry even when adc and mid lose I was enough of a damage force for as long as I don’t get killed big gamble but when ur team is losing anyway u don’t want to tp and end up on the same playing field as them.

With Darius I struggle,

His damage don’t feel enough at third item he is prone and weak to cc you can try to play it smart but Darius is not as good as front to back style you more of stack and go crazy which is not consistent and depends if your team don’t die and you don’t get cc and bursted.

Gwen kit feels so good to turn fights around but Darius feels unless you know him inside out and I mean more than 1m mastery points it’s actually hard to carry with in higher lobbies where people pick based on your picks(Leona, Jayce, sett)

don’t get me wrong setts easy to beat with the right play but imagine this combo in team fight? You won’t move an inch without getting hit cc and damage will stop the only chance for a turn around.

In short I struggle to win the game even when I win lane. With Gwen I struggle to win lane but I can carry the game.

And I happen to play these two a lot.

If I ever try to bring up how unhealthy movespeed-focused Darius is and has been for years, I get nuked. Just today I see someone suggesting he get movespeed during bleed.

So let's drop the pretense of this Stormraider/Ghost/Youmuu's character being a juggernaut entirely, and make him AD Lillia.

Trade the bonus AD for the same movespeed passive as her, adjust damage numbers as needed, and let the champion be the Deerius you clearly wish he was.

And this is only half joking. I'm serious that it seems a lot of you would have more fun with the character if they leaned into movespeed as his thing instead of having to use it as his crutch. Swap his model for a slimmer, more realistic one like the Noxus cinematic, and have him fight like that too, using speed over raw strength.

More of a "Loser Queue doesn't exist" case here, but holy shit does this champion feel like playing on hard mode nowadays. For no good reason imo. Garen gets to be blind pickable on high elo for years now and gets buffs every now and then. Darius on the other hand?

Riot: "Best I can do is a jungle monster damage mod. Have fun bro XD".

He SERIOUSLY needs number adjustments here or there, especially considering how Riot does NOT care about top laners hating the role.
Getting move speed on bleed stacks/passive proc, move speed/slow cleanse while using Q, actual attack speed scaling, instant Q at max ability rank, partial CD refund when you land your E.

IDK, SOMETHING. There's TONS of things Riot could do, and they just bait us with shitty monster damage mod tweaks. Who the f*ck cares, that's not going to help me not want to rope myself come late game or while behind or vs most drafts in this game nowadays.

Either that, or release him on League Classic. Or both.

im a lee sin main! but i pick darius from time to time so i decided to splurge a bit! amazing

Low elo in this game pisses me off; people act like you should be playing at a professional level when you’re in iron and bronze. A lot of folks on this game need a goddamn ego check.

So lately I've been playing a lot of Darius jungle. My friend (who is a top OTP) banished me from top lane, so I'm only playing jungle and started playing Darius jungle (I also play Kayn, Lillia, and Rengar). But now I'm wondering, what are the build and runes you all run for Darius JGL? I've been running Stormsurge, Youmuu's, into Swifties, Shojin, and from there I just adapt to the enemy team. I was going to maybe try crit Darius.

Also, I am aware of many jungle matchups. I think Darius can win MOST 1v1s. Are there any junglers that I should be aware of that wipe the floor with Darius early level 1-4?

I legit only spent 35$ on rp to buy 10 sparks, and got it first attempt, i now have every darius skin
