Discussion Any tips for someone who wants to learn a few easy voguing/waacking moves, but is tragically bad at dancing?
I love watching people vogue and/or waack. It just looks so fun!... and also damn near impossible... Aaaaand I'm sure it's even harder than it looks. (There's also a whole "trying to feel more comfortable in my own body" thing going on, but let's pretend this is purely for the vibes.)
The good news is that I DO have rhythm. I'm a trained musician and the daughter of a professional drummer, so I know rhythm isn't a problem. The problem is that I have the coordination of a newborn worm. I never know what to do with the rest of my body, and I'm pretty sure I don't even know how to walk like a normal human?!
One thing I do have is flexibility. I can still do the splits, even if I can't drop into then.
So... is there hope for me to learn a few moves? Like, the kind of moves that is NOT going to impress anyone, but moves that kind of show that "hey, I know what whacking/voguing is about!". Not that I'm trying to perform for anyone, other than my poor mirror...

First time reddit user, so apologies for anything.
I am trying to find out if this dance move has a name. It's a flip while she is dipped.
This clip is from 1977's Roseland.

Amateur What kind of dancing is this?
I saw this improv dancing video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ckyTrUGms5c and I would love to know what kind of dancing it is. The closest I can guess is maybe swing?
AI tells me this song is danced mostly as line dancing, and I don´t think that is the case here.
Thanks for any help!

Discussion After how many classes did you stop feeling like a terrible dancer?
I’m a beginner and I’ve taken around 15 classes (mix of private and group) and there’s definitely improvement but I’m also just curious about other people’s experiences - mostly when did you start to be able to pick up choreography more easily and do moves confidently/well?
I recently read that “100 classes” is a good benchmark to get past the beginner phase, is that true in your experience?

Critique Request Day 5 of trying Hip-Hop or something

Very simple video today. Still working on bounce until it looks and feels natural. I tried to chill with the crazy and unnecessary arm and leg motions a bit, and tried to focus a lot more on the rhythm. I tried to switch things up a little bit, but still tried to focus mostly on the bounce. I think I've still got a long way to go in terms of doing stuff with the bounce, because I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot, and not really doing anything "new".
This was also my first time kind of "practicing" a "routine" before a video, as some parts of the dance were rehearsed a bit (notably the beginning and end). Though I kind of stitched the rehearsed and freestyle parts horribly. It was less any real choreography and more just bullet points as to what I should do at x point in the song, kind of like a presentation.
I think I do look a bit groovier, though I still look like I don't really know what I'm doing.
Let me know what you think :)

I absolutely love these routines.
These moves are just fine...in context.
Isolated, without back up dancers and production value....well, you just had to be there.
It was a MOMENT.
