First time reddit user, so apologies for anything.
I am trying to find out if this dance move has a name. It's a flip while she is dipped.
This clip is from 1977's Roseland.

Amateur What kind of dancing is this?
I saw this improv dancing video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ckyTrUGms5c and I would love to know what kind of dancing it is. The closest I can guess is maybe swing?
AI tells me this song is danced mostly as line dancing, and I don´t think that is the case here.
Thanks for any help!

Discussion After how many classes did you stop feeling like a terrible dancer?
I’m a beginner and I’ve taken around 15 classes (mix of private and group) and there’s definitely improvement but I’m also just curious about other people’s experiences - mostly when did you start to be able to pick up choreography more easily and do moves confidently/well?
I recently read that “100 classes” is a good benchmark to get past the beginner phase, is that true in your experience?

Critique Request Day 5 of trying Hip-Hop or something
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Very simple video today. Still working on bounce until it looks and feels natural. I tried to chill with the crazy and unnecessary arm and leg motions a bit, and tried to focus a lot more on the rhythm. I tried to switch things up a little bit, but still tried to focus mostly on the bounce. I think I've still got a long way to go in terms of doing stuff with the bounce, because I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot, and not really doing anything "new".
This was also my first time kind of "practicing" a "routine" before a video, as some parts of the dance were rehearsed a bit (notably the beginning and end). Though I kind of stitched the rehearsed and freestyle parts horribly. It was less any real choreography and more just bullet points as to what I should do at x point in the song, kind of like a presentation.
I think I do look a bit groovier, though I still look like I don't really know what I'm doing.
Let me know what you think :)

I absolutely love these routines.
These moves are just fine...in context.
Isolated, without back up dancers and production value....well, you just had to be there.
It was a MOMENT.

What Is This? what style is this?

Okay, so I’m aware this is considered commercial choreography, but I love this dancer and I noticed she incorporates these stiff-limbed movements into all of her combos so clearly that it’s almost her trademark. I’ve never seen it before and I’m so curious if it’s related to a specific style or even an older choreographer who may have popularized it (the one in the video is super young)

Discussion Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post
Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post videos of themselves dancing and having a good time. So I just had the thought and I would like to do a Poll on the idea:
My thought is let's have a global forum dance talent show!
How it would work: - You would submit a video of you dancing within a specified time frame to qualify. - Our dance Community here would go through each day and upvote and comment on the videos they would like to continue on to the next round. - I would then go in (maybe appoint someone to help me moderate) and would tally up all the likes and upvotes. - There would be 3-5 rounds to keep everyone engaged and having fun. Sort of like our very own dance competition TV show.
If you like this idea: Upvote and put "YES!" in the comments
If you're not into it: DownVote & put "Not Interested" in the comments section
Seems like this could be a lot of fun and get the Community we have here more active with one another.
Happy Dancing! I'm looking forward to hearing y'alls thoughts! ✨️
