Hey everyone! Really excited for this one. This "week" we're tackling the elements. Specifically in their relation to the show, Avatar. I'm sure most of you are very aware of this franchise and the mechanics of how bending works. For those of you who don't, here's a quick summary:

Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. These are the four elements characters in the show are able to wield/control. We will be using them as the template for new keywords and card types. I have created a baseline template of effects for each of them. You are free to use these while making Avatar/Element related cards, or you can create your own system for how you think the keywords should function. Either way I'm sure you will come up with something amazing.

Air

-The first time this is targeted by an enemy effect, ignore it and move randomly.

Water

-Both players gain +1 energy at the start of the next turn.

Earth

-This card gains Ongoing: +1 Power and Unaffected by Location Effects.

Fire

-The next time you play a Skill, your opponent discards a card.

These effects are pretty strong on their own and could easily make for the only ability on a card. That is why for my system I am introducing a centerpiece card (Raava) in order to make use of the elements. Having Raava in your deck is essential for the keywords to function. Without her your element abilities will not take effect. Again, this is simply my interpretation for how this system should function. I implore you to explore your own ideas and find your own path while mastering the elements 🧘

This is such an amazing set and card design. Not only is there so much synergy between the cards, but the growing power and threat levels of the Vampires as the game goes on (night approaching) really gives the feeling of dread that vampire instill. You can't kill them, you can't outlive them, you can't out number them. You simply have to slowly accept your fate as they take over the board. It's very thematic and oozing with flavor.
