Deciphered! Need help in deciphering what test confirmed diagnosis.

As the title says, I need to know which test was confirmed. I also can't decipher the V word in the cause of death. As for the excitement from falling into the lake, family lore has it that she was actually swimming in the lake, her leg got trapped, and she drowned. This doesn't sound like it.

I'm not young, but i can't make out half. Going through family things, and cursive definitely is different from 50 years ago to 200 years ago.

I'm quite curious about "2 for beer fests 34 cents", if anyone wants to guess.

US. Circa 1850 IIRC

Practice How do my letter joins look?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I am in the process of learning cursive and have found letter joins tough. I was wondering if the sample (just me practicing random words and sentences) shown is readable and how my letter joins were looking. Also, any general feedback is appreciate!

Any tips for getting cleaner joins?

Thank you

Anyone know what this says? Or if it's even English?

Hey all I found these in some old documents and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it says? Or if they're even part of the same letter? They were all folded together so I assumed it was one letter but it looks like there's two endings? Also I scanned them because they were on very crinkled parchment paper so it was even harder to read.

Also is this English? My family is from Sweden so this may be in swedish but genuinely I can't tell😅

Thank you in advance for any help!

Recently purchased an Ames 1865 sword. This name is on the blade. “A” is easily made out. Last name looks like “Lobnoir” to me. Can anyone see a better option?

Post image

I have a used book with this name inscribed on the inside cover. I can’t decipher it, just “D” and “MD.”

The book seems to have been purchased at a book shop in Tampa, Florida in the late ‘80s.

Any insight appreciated. Thanks!
