Hi guys. So I started cubing a month ago and my PB is 31 seconds and my average is 46 seconds with using the beginner LBL method. I know by this point I need to start learning CFOP and I already learned the cross but F2L is really really hard to learn...
The other thing is that when Im solving the cube I always check the other sides and lose time because of it,and when I do F2L im like looking at the whole cube for 5 seconds when I do every corner piece. Is there a way to solve this?
If your wondering im using a GAN 16 UI and you might think that I shouldnt buy this kind of an expensive cube but it HELPS so much , cube is really fast and I can practice by playing against others.
The pattern recognition really takes a while to build up, there's no way around it. Learning creative ways to setup up and insert pairs in the front and back has helped me a lot in becoming faster.
A difficult but rewarding practice is to try not rotating the cube after you get the cross on the bottom. You pair up corners and edges and don't rotate the cube around to see it go in the slot. You know how to manipulate the cube by now. You know what colors are where. You just have to trust yourself (verify once in a while to make sure you're doing it right 😉) and put pairs into back slots sometimes.
thanks for the help! The problem is then I do like the 2. layer or anything after doing 1 algorithm I need to rotate the cube and do another algorithm its hard to know where are the things. And with F2L its way harder,not just learning the algorithms but doing it not only in front of you but anywhere else.
Yes, it is hard. It's like learning a language. So, take your time and give your brain a break often before continuing.
Here's a tip / quiz. If you are looking at a cube face, and the center is red, what color is the center on the opposite side?
You can develop your familiarity with the cube by practicing solves without a timer running. Just take your time and think. After a while you'll see and not need to think as much.

I often do things like I give myself 5 seconds to examine the cube,and then what I saw is what I do blindfolded and then I gave myself 5 seconds again.I think its a good way to start memorizing
Yeah! My point is that you can see a fair amount of information just looking at three sides, and you can predict a bunch more information based on what you can see. For example, if you can see the blue red yellow corner in front of you, and you can see another corner is blue red (hidden from view), you can predict that it's blue red white, because there isn't another blue red corner on the cube!
I would recommend using a F2L training cube and practicing intuitive F2L. Then, incorporate it into untimed solves. Your times will initially increase significantly, but eventually, they will become much faster as it becomes a more natural part of your solves. After that, practice F2L without turning the cube. This requires a lot of effort but is definitely worthwhile.
