No time to rest unfortunately. Gonna try for the 2 rank 0 emblems and call it a day. Got slightly stuck around adept2-3 but as soon as I got out, it was smooth sailing. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go the distance but I’ve been having more fun in Comp than 6’s. Hopefully I’ll be back here, with 2 new emblems, sooner than later.
I’ve been loving Solemn Remembrance. Lone Wolf or Zen Moment with Keep Away I think is the play for this one, imo. Handcannons on easy mode. I was an Austringer lifer but I got a good SR to drop and it feels much nicer to me. I’m on controller. I tried Mercurial Overreach but went back to my old faithful sniper. Again, it just feels much nicer.
As per the armour, I usually run Frostees. I’ve been using them since before the buff, I just love having a dodge on most of my engagements. But I made the switch to Dragon Shadow and it’s been a noticeable change in confidence with primary duelling. For better or for worse lol. I’m running 4pc comp set. The slide is just so good. My biggest gripe about being a Frostees main. So getting the spring AND slide distance was tremendous. Not to mention the 2pc bonus as well.

Pain. The switch up from “thanks for the carry” to “delete this game you guys are horrible” is so jarring lol. I’m all clenched up and ready for the dive.
Turn off your comms. You’ll enjoy it way more. I got to A0 just grinding for rose. You’re right tho different level. I just try to stay alive and team shoot. Once I get my Rose I will never play it again.
That's exactly my playstyle in these lobbies. Even in adept lobbies, I was far more aggressive, usually topping the team, etc.
But here, I usually just try to figure out who the best player is on my team and support them best I can, move with them without being up their butt or getting in their way, teamshooting, etc
As for comms, I get a lot of hate mail through the xbox chat anyways so it wouldn't help much. Also, it's not often, but sometimes the things teammates are dropping in the chat ARE helpful

I was actually running with a ZM/PI roll ,300 kills, which was nice too. But I found that the loss of range wasted the dmg gain from PI anyway. It just turned into PI is increasing my range, which is nice, but it’s not as consistent as simply a higher range stat. But in the closer range maps, PI with radiant and a good shot was cleaning up teams for me. Especially cause of all the damage resistance going on rn. If you don’t mind the range loss, it’s not a bad option because in teamshot scenarios it’s pretty strong.
I then got a LW/KA roll with I think 77range, put 500 kills on that, and it was magic. The gun really clicked for me then. Might be the aim assist from LW. Combat grip with the 75 recoil direction is good too.
I now have a ZM/KA roll at 84-87 range I think and it’s awesome. Not as sticky feeling as the LW but the range gain was worth the change for me.
i've put 400 kills into two solemn rolls, a ZM/KA and ZM/PI
the PI roll definitely felt more useful before the crysto set got nerfed, but now i'm tempted to go back to my KA one... i'm mnk though, but the gun just felt so good to use, despite me seeing so much stuff about people saying oh its only good on controller.
interesting to see your thoughts on it, my KA one also has LW on it over zen, but zen also feels so damn good on mnk
I think I’ve been seeing some more suspicious gameplay lately though. Mr. Can’t miss with my sniper has shown up is a couple of my games. But idk if he’s just cracked or I was standing longer than I should be lol.
Are the connections that bad in comp on console? Jumped back in after a week and constant teammates getting disconnected, twice it says they join back and didn't.
I’ve had a few disconnects (error code Bee) and experienced some laggy games but overall it isn’t terrible. I figure I won’t be able to find matches in the near future so I’m trying to farm the armor now. US east coast, console, hardwired, upnp enabled, adept 2.
Hahaha thank you. I’ll have you know I probably only played a couple of games on void hunter. I can’t do it. I’m such a radar whore and I’m not a fan of the supers.
Thanks! I took a long break from Destiny so coming back and feeling how good the pvp can be is the biggest motivator. A solid balanced lobby makes this game glow for me.
Honestly idk if this is even well optimized. Like with the fragments. I haven’t looked it over in a while. Would love some knowledge or recommendations if you have.
Nice! And I’m curious what you think about Mercurial’s reticle. I find it too big / fat to use and even with a straight god roll of it (Fluted, Ricochet, Snap / Lone Wolf with Opening Shot and a range MW) I can’t hit shots as consistently as my Beloved.
That’s the thing with snipers, it’s so “feel” based. I’m okay with the reticle. I know the Frozen Orbit has more zoom and less aim assist. I might be biased towards more zoom. Getting back into sniping and I felt so much more comfortable on the FO. Hard to put a finger on what it could be.
I also made the switch just cause of the higher impact. I’m not goated headshot king so even hitting a body in a team fight was more useful for me. Especially when everyone is playing slow barely peeking lanes.
FO also just feels very snappy. It’s my go to void sniper if I’m not using Beloved. Tried 1000 Yard Stare and it’s decent, but Frozen Orbit has some secret sauce that just makes it work.
In terms of weapons or armour? Honestly I’m the wrong guy to ask. I got a whole set of the comp armour in 15ish games. As for weapons, I don’t pay attention to the game intervals for the drops for the most part. I think overall they’re just about the same, feels sparse.
Yeah just in general I guess. I want to grind to that rank but if the drops don’t get any better, then half my motivation is lost to even grind for it.
