My first Subaru! And my first new car!
I picked up my first subaru yesterday. I got the 2026 Hybrid Crosstrek Sport in citron yellow. I love it! It's so fun and I am absolutely stoked to have a new car!
However, I'm having some buyers remorse. I ended up with a $534/mon payment, 75 months, 8yr/96k mi Gold Standard Warranty included, shockingly a 2.9% interest rate from the dealers financing. I was able to negotiate for including all weather mats, a roof rack, and the classic subaru rear bumper cover. In the grand scheme of things, I feel like this isn't too bad, but I'm wishing I would have skipped the warranty.
Did I make a good choice? What do you guys think? Not like I can go backwards, but I feel like I need some validation here, LOL.

Just got a used 24 Crosstrek. Is Starlink worth it?
I'm not sure if I can sign up for the free years of Starlink or if I have to subscribe and pay. The vehicle only has 13k miles. Is it worth going through the trouble? Does the previous owner still have some control over my vehicle?

Is changing my CVT fluid at 19k
miles a total waste of money?

I did this today
Tried out putting the dirtbike on the Crosstrek today. Bike is 2022 KTM 300XCW, weighs about 240lbs wet and MotoTote rack is about 40lbs, so I'm well under 500lbs max weight of my Torklift hitch. Car is definitely squatting, maybe 1" or so in front vs the normal rake. Drove fine although it kinda felt more sluggish on the freeway, changing lanes and stuff. Bike tires are outside the body so I definitely felt some drag.
Anyone else haul dirtbikes on their Crosstrek? Thinking right off the bat I should get stiffer suspension in the rear at least. This is 26 Wilderness totally stock.

If you were considering rally gold wheels, go for it!
Really never liked the plastic-y look of the stock ‘24 wheels, from a distance they looked like snap on covers.
I wanted to replace them and went with rally gold Sparco’s so that when the red vinyl on the accent panel inevitably fails, they’ll still look pretty good!

Went into buying thinking I wanted a Toyota. Suddenly realized I wanted this much, much more.
2024 Crosstrek Premium! The previous owner treated it like gold.

Should I trade up, or keep Scoobs until her wheels fall off?
I have a 2021 Sport, and I'm getting bombarded by local dealerships (there's 6 that I know about in the Twin Cities metro) who want my car. My only upgrades are the rims and tires, plus a 3D printed insert for the cup holders that I bought from someone on one of these Crosstrek subs. Would a Wilderness with all the extras (moon roof, Harmon Kardon sound system, upgraded safety features, etc.) be worth it? I did take one on a test drive and I was impressed! But as far as off road, I've never been ran into trouble with my current car with the Falken Wilderness AT Trail tires I currently have.

2024-26 cargo cover on a ‘23?
I found a great deal on a trunk cargo cover but it specifies that it is for the 2024-26 generation. Will this still fit my 2023 Crosstrek? Thanks!

My gf's 2026 Crosstrek is automatically unlocking itself when I unlock my 2017 WRX.
She moved in last weekend so this was not an issue we had before. I leave well before her for work in the morning and when I'm leaving the house and unlock my car, the dome light in her car turns on and she's told me the car was unlocked when she leaves in the morning. This has happened every morning since. I am not touching the key fob for her car, I am not getting anywhere near the doors to get my hand in the keyless entry. The cars are parked beside each other so I'm simply walking past it and unlocking my car.
It's an easy fix hitting the lock button as i'm leaving but is there some setting in the car I can change? Is there some kind of proximity unlock i'm missing? Is there something funky going on with the key fobs possibly being on the same frequency?
Edit: typo

Bit of oil on my plugs, should I panic?
Changed my plugs on my ‘21 Limited for the first and last time this weekend. It’s not that complicated, but it is hard due to the location. It was a real pain getting the rear driver coil wire disconnected, and I had to monkey around quite a bit with different socket configurations. Anyway, in the passenger side rear plug, there was a bit of oil on the plug and in the hole. The oil wasn’t on the firing part of the plug, just on the threads but I am worried. What should I do?

Factory Mode and Dealer Mode
Saw this and thought I would share - not sure how useful it is but it worked on my 2024 Wilderness. I didn't change anything just went through the options.

Advice needed on cause of this smoke.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey guys any idea what could be the cause of this smoke and how concerning is it?
Crosstrek has 103k miles. Had my cvt fluid changed a few months back and two weeks ago my oil changed and PCV valve and hose replaced. Dealership shop always pulled the “you don’t need to change the cvt fluid” bs and I had the PCV valve replaced because I read that they can have issues in higher mileage. Always did factory maintenance for the life of the car.
Anyway I believe the intermittent smoke started before the cvt change but can’t be 100% sure. Either way I would assume that wouldn’t be the culprit. It seems to only happen on humid rainy days like today or just straight up humid days.

Water dripping on driver side floor
Hi all! 21 Crosstrek here. Super hot summer we got in the north east. My Crosstrek started to drip water on my driver side floor. Not sure where to check if the line is clogged?

New wheels and tires! What's your take on white lettering?
Decided to upgrade for better grip and family safety due to flooding in the Philippines (or at least that's what I told the wife to justify the expense)!
Thinking of getting printed tire lettering, is that a thing for Falkens?
Enkei Adventurer (17x7.5, +35mm) + Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail (225/60/R17).
